Five-day in-depth study of Genesis families at Cleeve House with William Haines

Twelve people gathered at Cleeve House recently for five days for an in-depth study of the stories of the Genesis families. In the middle of the workshop we had a day out visiting Avebury, Laycock Abbey (where episodes of Harry Potter were filmed) and had a cream tea in Marlborough. Six came from Japan and Korea and the others from Europe. The youngest was 18 and the oldest over 70 and one of the earliest British members. And one person was not yet a member. Here is a collage of some reflections:
“My reason for attending was to find some practical relevance between the Principle and my life. I was, therefore, interested in the title of the seminar which got my attention, captured my imagination and made up my mind to attend.”
“This workshop was like my spiritual rejuvenation.”
“William Haines described and shared the Biblical stories with us in a deep and
wonderful way. All the historical figures became alive and real people who actually had thoughts and feelings as we do ourselves.”
“As every lecture goes on, it made more sense to me when I applied those relationships of historical figures to my own family relationships. I felt that these stories could reveal lots of truth, values and meaning of life. It is essential for us not to repeat the same mistakes – this realisation made me think I should be more responsible for how I should live in daily life.”
“We came to understand that restoration is about restoring the Four Great Realms of Heart and healing relationships, between brothers, spouses, parents and children, and of course our relationship with God.”
“I think William deserves much credit for his sincere investment over a long period to come up with a truly remarkable series of lectures. From my experiences in Cleeve House I came away with a sure feeling that they form a landmark way for the Principle to be presented, particularly for those like me who were quick to think ‘O I’ve heard it all before’. I’ve been moved to tears on other occasions by the Principle but this time God was able to express His heart to all of us so that we felt embraced as His children.”
“I also loved our outing activity experiencing God’s beautiful creation in Avebury.”
