Number of Blessed Children in the UK - Lies, damned lies, and statistics

Sometimes I come to church at Lancaster Gate and more than half the room is filled with people in their twenties. In a very real sense the young adults or second generation, form a substantial part of the community. This is reflected in the make of our finance committee, the people emceeing and leading the worship, the people teaching Sunday School, those cooking lunch (although it has to be said there aren’t too many of us helping with the washing up afterwards) and running the café. It is delightful to see people of so many different generations (age wise) working together and to create a lively and diverse community. It is something I feel has been very valuable for my life and something worth committing to for the future. Yet it is also something that has to be done deliberately and the values on which it is built cherished or else it will surely disappear.
At the four day marathon UK Leaders meeting in Cleeve House to reflect on our movement’s past and to plan the next seven years to 2020 in line with True Mothers direction. Last weekend Christabel prepared a presentation on the changing demographics of second generation and young adults in the UK between 2013 and 2020. We hope it can help you in your local church community make informed decisions about your long term future. Notes
