An emcee at FFWPU UK welcomes the congregation to the 30 December 2012 Sunday service at 43 Lancaster Gate, where year-end testimonies will be shared looking ahead to Foundation Day.
Feel free to sit wherever you like. How are we feeling on this penultimate day of 2012, the 30th of December? We're nearly at the end. Are we feeling good? Over 2012 already, and ready to charge into 2013? There are about 53 days until Foundation Day. Who's excited?
Thank you all for joining us this morning at 43 Lancaster Gate, our Family Church. There are some faces here today I haven't seen before, and I want to embrace you and welcome you into our family. We meet here every week to worship our Heavenly Father together, and to express our gratitude for everything he has done. It is wonderful to do it together.
During this time we have a chance to praise him through music. Our music ministry will shortly lead us in some beautiful songs to praise Heavenly Father and True Parents; then we'll have time to meditate and pray. It's a chance to reflect on the year that's gone by, and to find ways to be grateful for everything Heavenly Father has done for us.
Today we'll also have a special service: testimonies from this year, given by different members of our congregation. I really pray that you can open your hearts and minds to whatever message may come through someone else's experience.
As is our custom, we take a moment to greet one another before the music ministry begins. Please rise — go across the room if you like, say hello, give somebody a hug, introduce yourself to someone you haven't yet met. Once we're all on our feet, we'll begin with "Higher Ground": "I am pressing on the upward way, new heights I am gaining every day, still praying as I onward bound, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. Lift me up and let me stand, by faith on Heaven's tableland, a higher plane than I have found, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground."
