Prichard Mhlanga describes how he was prompted by the Spirit to start a Bible study group called Brothers in Christ, and reflects on his lifelong sense of being different because of a physical disability and how the Divine Principle reframed his understanding of his inner value.

I want to tell you the story of how I met OT, with all the technology and everything.

I was asked by the Spirit to create a group called Brothers in Christ — a Bible study group. I'm new to Christianity, so I thought: "why are you asking me to do that? You need someone more experienced." But I went ahead, not wanting to be disobedient to the word.

A lot of my friends also asked me to create this group, so I told myself: "you know what, I have to be obedient now, because the message is coming from different people." One day I was looking for more brothers in Christ, and there was a group I was part of called the Godliness Center, with about 300 people in it. The Spirit told me to go into that group, and look for two specific names.

Scrolling through, I wondered: "which one?" Then his picture popped up. So out of all 300 people, I chose him first. Really, the Spirit chose him first for me to invite into the group, not knowing he was a Christian brother. I also invited another fellow from India, never knowing why. Both of them agreed to be part of this movement for Christ. That's what leads us to be here today.

Now, without further ado. All my life, I've felt and looked different from everyone around me, both in my mental and material being. This started when I was around 10 years old. Some of you may relate, because at that age you develop self-awareness and a sense of being. You become overwhelmed by emotions, and by your physical existence. I had a lot of questions about who I was, and no answers.

Looking around, I saw that everyone was created the same: two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, two hands. I also saw people with disabilities, and that was normal. As the Divine Principle says, a person's value comes from their inner self. But my physical disability seemed to contradict that belief, because when I looked at myself physically, I was different — with an attribute not like anyone I had met.

So with that awareness, I questioned who I was for many years, until I had a revelation and became a preacher. We get these revelations…
