Carry Patience, Love, And Forgiveness As You Go Out As UTS Graduates

Distinguished guests, parents, graduates, alumni, board, administration, faculty, staff, ladies and gentlemen:

Welcome to the 20th annual graduation exercises of the Unification Theological Seminary. Today we are here to honor 49 graduates of the class of 1996.

The message I, as the founder of the Seminary, want to convey to you who are graduating today is: work hard for the complete realization of world peace as the time is ripe now.

As you know from the teaching of Unification theology, unfortunately the foundation of world peace was not established due to the fall of the first human ancestors in the Garden of Eden. If they had not fallen, then their children would have been born sinless centering on God. That way, the love of God would have been completely manifested in their family relationships, creating the four realms of heart centering on God, i.e., parents’ love towards children, conjugal love, sibling love, and children’s love towards parents. Originating from God himself, his love would have flowed to Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel. This order of love in Adam’s family would have brought forth the establishment of eldersonship (the first blessing), parentship (the second blessing), and kingship (the third blessing). Through the multiplication of sinless children starting from Adam’s family, this order of love would have expanded to the worldwide level to realize world peace. Thus the order of love in Adam’s family would have been the very foundation of world peace.

Unfortunately, however, the first human ancestors fell. Because of this, the order of love failed to be established. As a result, disorder came about in Adam’s family. This disorder of love came about because Eve had an illicit love relationship with Archangel Lucifer and then seduced Adam, thus repelling the love of God. This disorder was further evidenced when Adam and Eve were not willing to take full responsibility for their fall. When God asked them how they had fallen, Adam said that Eve had tempted him and Eve said that Lucifer had tempted her. This family disorder was also seen in Cain’s bloody murder of Abel. Through the multiplication of sinful children from Adam’s fallen family, the whole world became chaotic and disorderly under the dominion of Satan. This is the reason why throughout history there has been no real peace in this world. Look at a countless number of evils and ills in this world such as infidelity, fornication, rebellion, war, murder, robbery, and homosexuality.

However, God as a God of love couldn’t abandon his beloved children and world even after the fall. If he had abandoned them all after the fall, his dignity as the Creator would be ruined for eternity. He must

restore the order of love in Adam’s family in order to bring about a peaceful world in the end.

Then, how can the order of love in Adam’s family be restored? God lost eldersonship, parentship, and kingship after the loss of the order of love in Adam’s family. Satan, under his dominion, established his eldersonship, parentship, and kingship, having his illicit love flow from him to Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel. In the realm of Satan, therefore, Abel as the second son was the most distant from Satan. Conversely, this means that Abel was the closest to God, no matter how fallen he was in God’s eyes. In this sense, Abel was the first son to God. So, for the restoration of the order of love in Adam’s family, God had to work with Abel to reverse Satan’s illicit love dominion. Abel’s mission was to have Cain his elder brother unite with him in front of God who providentially regarded Abel as the first son. Based on the restoration of eldersonship this way, Eve was to be restored and eventually Adam, too, was to be restored. Thus parentship and kingship were to be restored. In a word, the restoration of the order of love in Adam’s family was to be done through the unity of Abel and Cain, which in turn was to restore Eve and Adam.

Understandably, however, Satan’s resistance to this providence of restoration has always been so strong that anyone in the providential position of Abel has received tremendous hardship and persecution from Satan’s side. That was the case with Abel, Jacob, Moses, various prophets, Jesus, and other sages and saints in the providential history of restoration. Abel was killed by Cain. Jacob was almost killed by Esau. Even Jesus was crucified. That way, God’s dream of restoring the order of love has been frustrated and this world has been full of chaos and disorder up to today.

However, the time has come when we can finally put an end to all of this. I witness before you that after the successful completion of the tearful 40-year wilderness course (1952-92), during which time unspeakable suffering and persecution were overcome by unconditional love, God’s eldersonship was completely restored. To describe in detail what it took for the unity of Abel and Cain to be accomplished through the incredible 40-year wilderness course is beyond the scope of the present address. But once Abel and Cain united, the next step was the restoration of Eve. This is the reason why on April 10, 1992, Mrs. Hak-Ja Han Moon was able to inaugurate the Women’s Federation for World Peace at the Olympic Main Stadium in Seoul, Korea. On that occasion she proclaimed the true liberation of women from Satan’s yoke and their connection with the true Adam. With this the age of parentship started.

On August 24 in the same year, therefore, the proclamation of true parentship was made in front of various world leaders who came to Korea at that time. From 1992, therefore, all levels of Abels and Cains were supposed to unite in front of the Women’s Federation in the position of Eve to be connected with Adam, so that the order of love might be furthered at all levels for the sake of world peace. This is the reason why wherever Mrs. Moon as the president of the Women’s Federation went, groups and institutions united together to welcome her. In the same year, she made a speaking tour to cover the three former Allied nations (Abel) of England, America, and France and the three former Axial nations (Cain) of Japan, Germany, and Italy, and representatives from all those nations united together to receive and welcome her message. This way, the providential time right after the victory of WWII was restored. In the next year of 1993, therefore, the Completed Testament Age was inaugurated. Furthermore, this year of 1996 marked the inauguration of the age of kingship based on the victories won during the age of parentship.

Dear graduates, I really want to tell you that the time is ripe. For this time to come, how much endurance I have had in loving and forgiving in accordance with the tradition of Jesus! How much suffering I have accepted in gratitude! I want all of you to carry the same virtue of patience, love, and forgiveness as you go out to the field as UTS graduates. That way, you will be able to better understand that the time is ripe, so that everything you do for the sake of God’s will, will definitely result in great success.

As you know, Christianity is the bride religion which has been prepared by God for 2,000 years. For its main mission is to await and receive the Lord of the Second Advent who is the bridegroom in the last days. In other words, Christianity is in the position of Eve in front of the Lord of the Second Advent who is in the position of the true Adam. If one of the most important purposes of our Seminary is to revitalize Christianity, then don’t you think that you as Seminary graduates are the spearhead of embracing Abels and Cains in the world in the position of Eve, encouraging the whole of Christianity to do the same in order to connect them all with the true bridegroom? Therefore, let us go to the world and embrace it with the spirit of love and sacrifice. That way the order of love will be restored at all levels, and world peace will no longer be just an impossible dream but a true reality.
