How long has it’been since Father was here last? (Last year at graduation). Since then Father hae spent most of his time in Korea. Father’a motto, “Unification of the Fatherland,” has been in effect for several years. But no one laid a foundation for the motto to happen so Father had to go back and make it. Korea is the “Third Israel” so it needs to be restored. No one understands this there except the people who are spiritually open. So Father had to go back and lead the people to make a foundation for the reunification of Korea.

Even among politicians in Korea, no one else had Father’s vision about that country, so Father became the “front-runner.” S9meone has to lay the foundation for reunification of South and North Korea because that small nation is the “center point” to connect the worldwide restora- tion and to bring the spiritual world to meet the physical world on this earth. You know from Divine Principle that without the Fall then there ·could have been an ideal “Adam and Eve,” ideal tribes, nation and world. But because of the Fall everything went down the drain. Father has been working to bring back the worldwide ideal; the only way to do that is to restore the world.

We have one good symptom in the world at this time that means progress in restorations there is much spiritual phenomena that is taking place in Russia and other Communist countries. We can see what’s happen- ing in Korea also. This year the 1988 Olympic games will take place there. People are all busy paying attention to all the participating athletes, but there are religious phenomena going on also. There has to be a religious focus also eo Father is making a spiritual foundation for the reunification of Korea. Do you follow? Father feels you may understand the words, but feels that there is no way in which you can comprehend the providential meaning.

Tomorrow is the 12th UTS graduation. If you had done a good job of witnessing in the past then we could have had 120 graduates tomorrow instead of 47. So you have to understand what kind of mistakes you made. From now on we must think in terms of “500” graduates.

How many American graduates are there among you? (13) You American graduates, what kind of future do you think America will have from now on? The next American president will have a very important role. Do you think that Father’s work is evident in the. American elections? (Yes). The time is here now for the work of CAUSA and AFC. Father has already laid the grassroots foundation in order to reach National and State poli- ticians. If we had enough Seminary graduates we could “~obilize” -them a . lot. l

Fifteen years ago people in the movement didn’t really understand, but now they will have to carry the ~ross because of that unpreparedness. Nov Father has to reconstruct everything. The difficulty that Father is facing is how to expand to · the worldwide level, but because of the present situation in America he has to step back instead of going foward. That’s why Father has to focus on Korea - to develop Korea as the . “f.ront- . . runner” 4ind a’t thla t ·ime to. -i~ave other · countries alone. · ··

We have to clearly understand that originally American leadership was to support and vork with the government of Korea. But both govern- ments failed to do this. So now Father has encourage these governments to vork together to expand their unity. As you remember without Father’s blessing, Pres. Reagan could not have become the President of America. Tl\_en when Father was sent to Danbury Prison, the President did not help Father. But Father didn’t blame him, Father Just vent back· to Korea to try to work on the foundation of restoration there. But the American President will have to pay indemnity for that, that is the situation now, do you follow? Of couree, Korea now hae Pres. Roh, but in reality there is not really any president there. Others consider Father to be in the vanguard of vhat’s really happening in Korea.

So your responsibility is so important. You must go out into the field and help elect the “right” president. Bush is having a hard time now and he needs Father’s help. Who will become the running mate of Bush? That’s the key to victory now; so he needs Father’& help. That’s the main reason Father returned to America. Without Father what will happen? Any conditions that will affect Korea will first fail here.

The providential timetable doesn’t stand still, so we have to catch up with the time lost. You must _k-;,ow that Father’s “7000 Minister” education in Korea will be over this month. That project was not an easy task but it was truly an historical event. Just think about it: Germany, Great Britain and America have been the central countries of Christian culture for the last 1000 years and Korea’s Christian history is only 120 years old. Yet think of what a wonderful miracle took place. -;-…__ Seven thousand American Christian ministers visited and respected the tiny nation of Koreaf

Now the essential thing that will determine the providential future of America will be in getting those 7000 ministers to reach out to and help 350,000 religious leaders in this nation to understand what is happen- ing in God’s providence today. Look at the Danbury focus - how Father when he was in prison managed to educate Christian ministers and pastors by sending out 350,000 tapes and books. We have to continue the “Danbury focus,” with ministers and pastors, still trying to “turn them around.”

In the beginning, when ministers first received their tapes and books many of them threw them away. Since the 7000 are coming back from Korea now they show more interest and many are starting to see their tapes and read their books. Now more and more Christian ministers are wanting to visit Korea. This is an indication that without telling any- on~ they have been studying their tapes and the 7000 that have come back from Korea_are talking to them about it.

You may not know it but a “fire” ls spreading among Christian ministers and they are going up to a _higher le_vel! (clapping) But after the fire, then what is left? The ground will be bare·: so for the Christian i ministers you have to “plant seeds ·of-new life.” The seeds -must sprout into the hearts of Christian ministers and their congregations. That’s the phenomena taking place now. Let’s say we have 350,000 Christian leaders in this c.ountry and about 1/3 or 100,000 respond. Then if UTS has produced 500 graduates up to this point, and each graduate works with 200 ministers, that’s 100,000 isn’t it? If that happened then it would be possible to work with 300,000 Christian leaders. You graduates .are the “gold-plated” key to bringing them bac1~ - .to mediate for Father. . .. . .. . ·. ’

Recently, Father restructured the Unification Church leadership, especially the Ph.D,’s and lTTS graduates, in order to utilize their edu- cation and knowledge for the frontline work of the movement, What kind of “frontline”? Thia time your frontline miuions will be your “home- to\itls,” According to common religious practice, people leave their hom~- to\itl& and go out into the vorld. But this time Father is sending reli- gious leaders back to their hometowns. This is a precious time.

Therefore, when you go back to your hometowns, you can utilize all the church organizations that already have been established, CAUSA, PWPA, ICC, CARP, etc., for your restoration work. The foundations of these organizations are substantial and you have to connect with and work with them, helping them to reach people from the Christian culture, patriotic conservatives, and retired military personnel and veterans.

The Unification Church is already a frontrunner of the conserva- tive movement in this country. Some of you may not know it but in Wash- ington, D.C. Reverend Moon is considered the mainstream leader of the conservative movement. Look at the facts, Father is not even a citizen of the United States, yet when he goes to Washington they say, “You are the number one conservative leader in this country!” (clapping) But when God says, ·”Yes I you are” then that’s when I am. ( laughing)

So from now on, hov America is progressing is what is important. Those people who are working with the ICS (International Security Council) clearly understand the critical value of Father’s work. But you don’t comprehend, do you? If you had understood you would have helped Father. ?---.. Think about the time that Father first announced the “African Project.” No one understood Father’s purpose and goals behind starting that mission. But now those working in ACC can see the value of it and understand.

When the news of Father’s “African Project” first reached the ears of Washington D.C. and the national leaders, they were shocked. They reacted like it was an “atom-bomb explosion.” Now they see that it is the only way we can save this country. We are the only movement this nation can work with to bring victory. Think about that.

Now our foundation is so strong that Col. Pak can easily meet with George Bush and President Reagan. Who gave that direction to Col. Pak? American religious leaders? No. But they know who is behind Col. Pak. In 1982 they knew from whom they received help in the presi- dential campaign. Now Bush is saying, “Can I get some help?” But after Father helped Pres. Reagan .he didn’t keep hi~ promises, so now Fat~er is saying “no” to George Bush, “ ••• unless you set some conditions.” Who has made that foundation? You? (No, Father) Not just Father, but God.

Do you like Father? (Y~I) Do you like or love Father? (Love Father) What ‘.s the purpose of likin_g someone? Is “like” some tangible thing? What’s~the meaning of “being-good”? It’_s very ambiguous. _What comes after-ideology? (Practice) Suppose that we established a good ideal world, what would you do with it? Well, for most concepts there are no substantial substitutes, but what about “love”? Is “love” a pure concept, or is it some reality? (Reality) Of course, love is a reality. When you really love someone, it’s not just a concept, all your five

physical senses must be invested and love becomes a substantial “material” reality.

Thia is the greatest concept and reality that the Unification ; Church has come up with. Tola love reality is making this entire world become united and resonating with true love. True love is like a tuning fork in ita resonance, in the 1piritual and physical worlds if you strike one world with true love, the other will resonate with the same sound. Who is the center of true love? (Cod) God has the right equipment that strikes the “true love” sounds and on the earth it resonates first with True Parente. , If you have Cod, who is the “True Parents” of true love in the spiritual world, and True Parente of true love in the physical world, where would the two meet to become “one”? The cosmos is so huge, both the spirit and physical worlds, if you have True Parents ~ith true love, where should they meet? You have to find a point. Where? (In Seoul, Korea) Korea is not a human being. (laughter) Nobody knows the answer? If a woman who has had a hard life asks the question, “Why am I a woman, why am I not· a man?” Or some man asks, “Why wasn’t I born a woman?” Then the answer to these questions can only be in knowing that if Cod exists then there is a purpose why things are created the way they are.

How much do you need love? You need love more than the universe and more than True Parents - you need it that much. What kind of life do you want to live? (With true love) I don’t believe you; you cannot have any doubts. Why are human beings born needing love? One of the most famous sayings in Korean is, “Man is the most important creature in the world.” Why? Well God created true love for the entire cosmos, not for Himself. Therefore, humankind is originally (born) a product of that true love. So now we can draw the conclusion that we can say that “true love existed as the essence of Cod in the beginning before the creation.” If you draw a circle, wherever you make a point on that circle, 270 or 280 degrees, true love is always on top of that circle. That is why human beings are the “Lords of creation” and the universe. It’s because we are originally from that true love, so we are above every- thing else that is on the earth.

Plants and animals were created to be “objects” of mankind. With- in plants and animals there are dual characteristics. If you have two flowers for instance and one is “subject” and the other is “object,” where does true love dwell? God didn’t have any choice but to place true love right in the middle or center - there can only · be one point of true love. The center of true love cannot be two points, it baa to be “one.” Tlrnre is only one focal meeting point between Cod and a man and a woman. That is where the vertical true love from God meets with the hor~~ontal true love of a man and woman.

God has:mind and bo~y just like human_beings, then is true love in God different than or the same as true love in a man and a woman? It’s the same true love. ls that clear? Then who is God? God is our “Vertical True Parents”; that means God is the original heart. Then how does true love from God meet at the same focal point of true love between a man and woman on earth? (Father makes a diagram on the table by moving around glasses Qn the table) Wouldn’t a man and a woman have • : • • .-

to move to the center towards God at the same speed in order ~o connect? If one moves faster than the other then they would fight (laughter). What an uncomfortable situation that is - this i1 a very serious question. How will God 1 a man and a woman meet at the same time at exactly the ; same point? Think about it.

Even if you are UTS graduates and you don’t understand this con- cept, you still will be left out. There are former Seminary graduates floating all around who still do not understand this truth about true love. We must all find the Unification 3-way path to be united in only “one point.” Th is is the fund amen ta 1 key to a 11 problems and quest ions 1 if we don’t make this point really clear to all members there I could be a division in our movement. Well, do you want Father to give you the answer? (Yes) Don’t you think that God has already thought this idea all out?

Well, first of all, you have to get rid of self-centered thinking. Man lives only for the sake of a woman, and a woman lives only for the sake of a man. Mankind lives for the sake of Cod, and God lives for the sake of mankind. A man or a woman cannot aggressively grab the true point center for themselves. But if a man should grab the true love point before the woman, but it is for the sake of the woman and to achieve perfection of true love,then that it o.k. (and vice-versa) The great truth here is to get rid of self-centered thinking. If you “grab” for the true love point for the sake of the other person and God, then you will gain two things, the woman (the man) and Cod. But if you insist on staying self-centered, you will lose both the woman (man) and God.

You have to understand this concept of the marriage relationship and true love. Thie focal point ls at the heart of all historical prob- lems and questions. After parents raise their children, then they stand behind them - we see this kind of practice all over the world. True Parents have been up front paving the way and guiding you, but now Father wants to stay behind you and support you. The reason is that if on a horizontal line Father keeps “pushing” you, then if you ever stop or hesitate the line will crumble. When you were younger spiritually and Father kept pushing to the true love center, then if you accepted that push, a great foundation could be made.

True love can never be lost if Heavenly Father and True Parents keep on pushing the Unification Church, but at the same time the outside world has been pushing you in the opposite direction. In a way, persecu- tion is good for us, right? It is the same principle when Father does something here in the Unification Church and America keeps on persecuting Father, then he can go much further. So is persecution good or not? (Good!) The reason that Father accepted going to prison without protest was that he knew the secret of the paradox of persecution. Those who used to persecute Father are now humbling themselves to him and respecting him.

Father matches you couples and then Blesses you, right, but if Father tells you to go out and work for the nation and the world, then you must go. If you do that, then you can create out of that indemnity a great nation and world. When Father was in prison he did not think

about resentment but created a campaign to save this nation. When Father did this, do you think that Cod would pr.a he him, or would He say, “Ummf I he’• doing something vrong”7 (Praise youl) ,, Tomorrov will be your 12th graduation at UTS, this “true love point” and your “right in authority” la your armor 1 and then you will be returning to your hometovne. Clear? (Ye1I) Everything should be the “Principle” and from there will come the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. When ve really reach this horizontal/vertical focal point of true love you can “see” everything fr0111 any angle. Through this point, the spirit- ual and physical worlds not only meet but cross each other. From this true love focal point nobody vlll be able to oppose you. Everything boils down to that one point. How great it is • a simple’ truth but every- thing evolves around this simple point.

This precious truth that Father has been giving you, don’t throw it in the wastebasket. It’s not only for use in the religious world, but is for practical use also. Do you clearly understand? If a man wants to seek for true love, he absolutely needs the woman, and the most important need for a woman in her life is in finding the man. If women don’t have husbands, what can they do about children? If there were no women in the world, after one generation there would be no more mankind.

But in today’s modern America does a woman really appreciate the value of a man? She sees a man with no more value than a pebble on the seashore. (laughter) Modern woman (nor modern man) do not understand the eternal value of each other. A woman or a man must see their spouse like their “second god.’’ inviting them to reach “true love.” According to this truth, does an American woman (or man) need to be married twice or three times? (No) NOi They just expose themselves to anyone who comes along! God will have a punishment for this kind of lost America that will be severe. God’s true law is only one man and one woman forever - that’s all. Is a woman’s breast for the sake of herself? No, it is for the sake of her babies. Are women’s and men’s organs for the sake of themselves? NOi They are for the sake of each other in true love. If someone asks you, ‘twhy were you born?” What is the answer? (Woman) “I was born for the sake of a man and God.” (Man) “I was born for the sake of a woman and God.”

(Father makes diagrams again on the table with glasses again) This man and this woman unite together at the focal point, centered on God, to become total “one.” Why do they have to meet at the focal point? It’s ·the purpose for which they were born. We say in Korean, “Their eyes have met.” This means that they are in love; after kissing and hugging then the love affair begins, from the eyes to the mouth to the arms and on down. But this kind of love goes through the formation, growth, and perfection stages downward, instead of upward like the Prin- ciple. (laughter_) r-

What is love? No one knows - just you yourself know when you are in love. In the material world there is a physical law that the input must be bigger than the output. But in true lov~ the output is bigger than the input. Love in the spiritual world takes a superior position to physical love, but when you are really serious about seek- ing for true love your 5 physical senses become united into one. So

can we tolerate tho11e American people “enjoying” their lives in their own way? (No) No! America will automatically decline and die if it does not obey (or know) the Principle! You have to know this and you ; have to care about others and teach them.

Thia same principle applies to the animal world. No one teaches a sparrow how to build a neat, yet a sparrow in Korea will build the same nest as a aparrow in America. Just think about the fish, the sal- mon, after it goes to the ocean or large rivers it will travel 7000 miles to return to the same place that it was hatched. But man who has a higher intelligence than any birds or animals, doesn’t even know what kind of life he should live - how shameful! When a salmon comes’back it sacri· fices its own body for the sake of the next generation.

From now on we- must understand and live this princ’iple clearly. Man and woman were born for only one relationship, not many. Do you know what I mean? (Yes, Father) This is clear education for you for the future. This is not “natural” law, but it is “true love” law that you must _live by. Otherwise, there is no hope.

Will you go into the world and become true husband and true wives? (Yes, Father!) It will take a revolution for you to completely do that. You don’t clearly understand the spiritual world. Father would like to teach you all about the spiritual world, but I’m afraid that if I did that you would just “fly away!” (laughing) Instead of working through the pit of the satanic world and digging your way like Father did up through a “ho le in he 11” you would be tempted to just take the easy way. And there is no easy way for world restoration.

As of this month of June 1988 it is a culminating point in history. Father is opening the Heavenly Kingdom wide open. He has been paying indemnity for the last 43 years. I am giving you the instructions and “order” to go back to your hometovns and establish your course there. Up to this point you have needed a messiah, but when you go to your home- towns you don’t need a messiah because you will become the leader. Once we restore our hometowns then the whole nation will be restored.

Now it is lunchtime. Father may not come here for your graduation tomorrow. Do you know the reason? On the outside, all the public knows about the graduation ceremony at Barrytown tomorrow - all the press, and news media and TV stations. We have received a report from the CIA that a member of the --,Japanese Red Army got · caught coming through at the New Jersey Turnpike. So Fa~her for the sake of everyone has to be very careful about appearing in official public gatherings. Father has receive~_ information from intelligence agencies all over the world, warning him about danger. This danger may be over in a couple of years, bu~ not now. So please . understand, for Father and Mother may or may not be here. l
