… Kyeok Sul Do… Korean martial art… choosing… if you keep the advantages, the merits of each martial art… the unique martial arts of our Church. To protect ourselves, perhaps every one of us, later, we will do good to learn that art. Father thought to explain the differences between what you have been doing and what this Kyeok Sul Do is… explain to you how Kyeok Sul Do is done, so… Hyo Jin Nim, who just returned from Korea, will demonstrate. He achieved a very superb standard in nearly eight months, which usually takes about three years and a half to get that degree.

So… preparing for an all-country, all-Korea demonstration, an all-Korea contest in the fall, next month. So, he is preparing and, like Father observed, achieved the supreme standard inn only eight months, which is incredible, and he will show you what you can do.

Father has been encouraging men to do all things, not to limit themselves to what they like to do, and not what they dislike. We should do all things: shooting a gun, riding motorcycles, which is dangerous… lead a dangerous life… sometimes, jump over 14 to 15 buses with a motorcycle…

You must wonder why a religious society, a religious group does things that are unimaginable to some people. It is that we are not a mere religious group. We might as well know that surely. We are the religious entity which has the responsibility for changing the world in a complete way, not just adjust it a little, but change it in a drastic way.

Hyo Jin Nim as a result of that… good mark, top of examination, the language examination to come to the American country. So, he achieved a good standard, so Father allowed him to come here and spend a couple of weeks together with Father. Let us welcome him.

…how do you compare that with your fund-raising experience?

[John Kirkley: much more complicated!…]

Was that you who wanted to introduce your mother? Could you introduce her?… Australia…

[Somebody:] She came to visit for a few weeks.

[Father:] Welcome to the campus. Did you have any questions in mind, would you like to ask any questions now?

[San Kil Han:] Ah, she is recovering, good.

One of the characteristics, one of the high points of Kyeok Sul Do is the art of falling, from up to 20 or 30 meters. All the tactics and arts of the Korean army are an exact copy of the United States army, which is very efficient; they have developed that over hundreds of years. But, when the paratroopers, the green berets or rangers, jump from airplanes by parachute, the American army has one way, they tumble down when they land to ease the percussion. The Korean paratroopers adopted their falling art from Chun Seul. That has an advantage over the conventional method in that they don’t have to tumble, which wastes so much time when the situation is urgent. You land without tumbling, but still with enough easing of the percussion, not hurting your feet or any part of your body; you are ready to fight immediately. It gives you almost instant readiness for fighting.

Those who never hear Father speak so much, those who never heard Father directly, raise your hands!

[To somebody:] How many times did you hear Father speak directly?

That is little… Well, Father will summarize some of the things he already talked to you about before.

Perhaps some wondered seriously as to where in the world America is going to go from now on. In fact, this is the most basic issue which any American, so much the more one in a leadership position, is seriously concerned about. It is fantastic, the American way, the American tradition, all things about America are good in a way, with some consistency, too, but they are lacking direction. They don’t know which is East and West and which is North and South. They do not know that.

So, when the government changes or the leader changes, one direction is just as credible as the other. They don’t know exactly where to go, they certainly don’t. So far, then, which direction has America been going into? They had one very consistent direction so far, which is generally the direction pointed out by Christianity. So, there was no real possibility of going wrong. But now, in this Christianity, the rifts and divisions are more and more apparent and more and more urgent.

The 800 some denominations pretty much conflict one with the other, so nobody is sure and nobody is an authority on the correct direction for America to go. If you ask each American as to which way he wants to go, if you ask them individually or by group, their answer will be very unanimous; it will be we want to go the best way. Then, you will ask a second question: do you know which is the best way? Is where the president of America is going the best way? Then, let us take for example Carter. Is Carter going the best way for America?

Then, what is the best way? A lot of arguments… Then, the way America is drifting now, is that the best way? Is the way the Communists are going now the best way?

Everyone agrees that they want to go the best way, but that is the same as giving no answer; it just doesn’t mean anything at all, unless you know the real content of that best way. Naturally, if there is an unchanging truth underlying people’s thoughts and people’s direction, perhaps that would be the best way which would not be changing from generation to generation. Then, what is the truth, what can we call truth? We don’t have to be very difficult about it, in fact, we can be very simple. We must eat, we are to eat, as a result of being born, we have to eat. Not to eat is not the truth, but to eat, for us, is the truth. Not to eat somehow sound or looks like truth .. momentarily. Then, why is it that not eating is not the truth, but eating is the truth?

Because eating suits your traits, it suits your needs and it perpetuates you, in other words, you can last forever and ever by eating. This is the reason why it is good… You ate bread and are so full that you don’t even want to look at it. But the following morning, don’t you look at it again? Your body will like it and eat it forever and ever, as long as you are alive. Then why is not eating no truth? Because you don’t like it, you don’t like not eating it; that is why it cannot be the truth.

What is the truth for our eyes? The eyes not batting, just staying open 24 hours a day, or even 10 hours, or even 1 hour: that is not the truth for the eyes. The eyelashes batting all the time… that is the truth for the eyes. What is the truthful womanhood, then, aside from men? The change in their biology, every month. It is their truth. That is the truth. The lacking of it, in man, is the truth in man. So, continuity and popularity; it has to meet the general rule. That is the specification of the…

Then why is it good, why do we feel good, why is it good to us? We can say, because it protects our life, it has all the indispensable contents which protect our life, so it is good. So, this power of life can be very small, ad also it can be very great, in some cases. So, life in itself is the truth entity in itself. So, we can conclude why truth is necessary to every being. The answer is, the truth is necessary, so that it can keep providing life to all entities.

What is the best thing to individuals? It is that something which supplies us with life itself. So, we accept it and we have been repeating that truth in ourselves. That is how we find life. That is a simple statement. Why is life so precious? Life is never independent, it is not lonely, not separated. Life has the greatest nature as being of common nature; reciprocal, you might say, but it is commonness. In other words, one life is not isolated, but life means the life of the total being.

We can take as an example… the fact that I have life is automatically connected to all the lives of my ancestors, as far as it can go up my ancestral tree; and it will go down so as far as it will last, that is eternally. Centering on myself, all the fellow creatures and living beings, mankind and also nature itself… To every life that I am well connected to, to that life, to my life, to everyone’s life and everything’s life, the flowers must be blooming in that life and the fruits must be borne in that life… What we call that is the result of love.

So, we can say, why do we cherish life so much? Because we know that life will bring forth the flowers and the fruits everyone can enjoy and be thankful to behold. That is never isolated, but it is all, commonly, well connected. The way of doing things, the way of thinking, whether that is an individual or a nation, can be changed… changed drastically, in other words, revolutionized. But life itself can never be revolutionized, no matter what; because it is something eternal, it can never be changed.

[Father, in English:] No… Life’s contents of truth…

[San Kil Han, translating:] Life contains truth in it.

[Father, in English:] So, the truth cannot change… so that content cannot change. That is the reason.

[San Kil Han, translating:] Is that reasoning is reasonable…

So, in other words, life can never change its content. And we ca even explain why it doesn’t change, and why it shouldn’t change. It is that, once it starts changing, that means all living things will go in all different directions. That will never keep everything into existence. So, we have just said that life can never be changing; so, love, which is the result of life is also not changeable. Do you follow? So, with all these connections, in one word, we love truth. Beyond truth, we love our life more than truth itself.

[Father, in English:] Love is more than life.

[San Kil Han:] Love is more than either one of the two, life and truth.

You have just attained consistence in yourselves once you really reach this… conclusion. Once you attain this confidence in yourselves, then you will really face yourselves in the center of all creation which has life. When you walk, the whole universe will follow behind you in your walking. And when you like, the universe… And when you love, then everything around you will applaud. Then who is that center of life and center of truth?

[Father, in English:] Rev. Moon? Your parents?

[No - Heavenly Father!]

We don’t know who, but somebody for sure.

So, it really doesn’t matter what we call, what name we give, what name we prefer to call that very being, but everyone agrees that there is one being there. So, that is that. Now, everything has to be consistent with logic. Even in science, there is cause and effect. When we see a fantastic result in the end, and we love it so well, we must inevitably extend ourselves into, what is the reason for that effect? What is the cause of that effect? You are a fantastic effect yourselves, a result of something in yourselves, and you are really jubilant and proud, and you say, ‘here I am.’ You are an entity of truth, beauty and what have you. But, when someone asks you, ‘where are you from?’ and you say, ‘I self-exist, I exist all by myself, I don’t know where I come from, I don’t care where I come from,’ then people will just shake their heads and say, ‘he is insane.’ It can’t be.

So, as we agreed, it really doesn’t matter what we call him, but the cosmos recognizes that he is only too logical. So, even without seeing, even without experiencing, even extending through the logic which we are born with, we can very safely assume, for the argument’s sake, that we have a more original being from which we come. So, we have really narrowed down that real being which is so dear to us. So far, we have not known it so clearly, but we see life, we see truth, we see love. Then, we extend our logic so that there must be an original being to these fantastic results, to these effects. Then, that original being we really long for. We are really enchanted, too. We really imagine that we want and explanation with him.

In America, we have all sorts of measures and scales, don’t we? Are these true ones, or false ones, tentative ones? Which is the true one, then? Well, we have measures and scales everywhere, and the standard is always one. Once we chose it and agreed to it, then that standard we can only find something of a museum.

[Father laughs.]

Then what is the scale in a museum? Why does it have to stay in a museum? Because it is not to be exposed to everyone, it is not to be handled by everyone, it needs to be kept. If it is really a very precious measurement or scale, then will someone keep it where everyone ca see it, or will it be kept in a secluded place where no one can see it, even?

Then, people who are very skeptical by nature, those people who have seen that scale, who have never heard of that scale, except may be for one time, these people will say, ‘there is no such a thing as that scale or that standard.’ So, once in a while, may be one time in a hundred years, someone will have to show it to them, just to make them believe that it exists. But on all other times, all people will tell you is, ‘believe me, there is, there is; you don’t have to see it, there is.’

So, even aside from the existence, that being doesn’t have to show to us or to anybody else, all the time, or even once in a while, even once in a long while. If that is the being, then he would show himself may be once in a thousand years, or once in eight thousand years, or once in two thousand years; that should be enough. All other times, he won’t show himself. We can even nod to that reasoning, can’t we? Then, what about other people? They haven’t seen it, one generation lasts only thirty years, forty years. And in one locality, he may have seen him, but all other people, certainly the majority, millions of people have never seen him, even. Then, how would they know? The only alternative they would have is to simply trust those who have seen it.

So, we can reason now. Even for God - many people somehow believe that God exists, but they haven’t seen him, and they have never had the sense of touch, but then, even by reasoning, ‘Oh, it is nothing I am not sure about. It is the way it ought to be.’ We can even tell this to ourselves. Now, if we understand this, we are in a much better position to believe in and understand the prophets. That is what the nature of the prophets is. Rev. Moon can be one, or Rev. Moon can even be a false one. There is that possibility. So, people try themselves. Rev. Moon gives the multitude one standard. They bring that standard and they measure themselves, and it certainly doesn’t fit. So, it has got to be a false one. So, they say, ‘Rev. Moon is a false being.’ because it doesn’t fit your standard.

Which, unmistakably, is all the result of self-centered criteria, self-centered standard. They try to measure Rev. Moon with their own measurement. But once he will know it is the truth, then that one who really knows will never let go of that standard. Even though he may die, he just might as soon die and hold on to that absolute standard and enjoy the rest of his life in spirit world. So, they will certainly not trade it with anything more precious that he might have.

So, you are the result of that measurement. In other words, Father suggested that measurement, that standard, and you all now have adapted to that specification, that measurement. You have all become uniform, in other words, we all ourselves so strikingly uniform, and the people who will take the example for your standard and again measure it themselves and it wouldn’t fit them, so they say,’ Moonies are false.’ they say that with their mouth, but as years go by, ten years, five years, the more they contact you, the more they become like you, and they say, ‘it is strange, they are false, but they are good.’

The false and the real ones can never be the same. It is either this or that; either you are the real one or you are the false one. There is one easy criteria to distinguish goodness from evil. The good one likes truth, life, love…

[Father, interrupting in English:] some kind of a principle, follow the Principle.

[Students:] Amen!

It has to follow the Principle, it has to be in conformity with the Principle all the time. Whereas evil does not think so much about the matter of Principle, but they say, ‘what is good to me is good me. What is bad to me has got to be bad.’ There is no principle.

So, the tree with life, the tree that is very much alive, that tree will keep on living eternally, whereas the tree that is dead, devoid of life, withered, will discontinue to exist. Is that true?

Actually, Father started out from where America was going. All this interim process was just extra, so that someone who might just be listening to Father for the first time might have some criteria to follow by. But actually, that was not so necessary.

Now, let us get back to, where is America going, now?

Or, where should America go, on step ahead? Of course, we have to go to the best direction. There is no question about it.

[Father, in English:] Where is the best direction?

But, that is the problem, where is the best direction?

[Father, in English:] That place is the eternal truth place.

Because, if we go into that best direction, we should be heading to eternal…

[Tape becomes briefly inaudible.]…

[Father, in English:] Eternal life, eternal love, that’s all!

Eternal love, eternal truth, that should be all we want.

[Father, in English:] Eternal love!

Nobody will disagree with this.

So, it is all too logical that, even though it is good to follow that criteria, but still the best way is to follow that original being itself

[Father, in English:] What is original being? That one is God!

That original being is none other than God himself, the God we have been speaking about so much, the God we have been imagining so much. Anyway, God that we… Then what is that something which God likes, which God loves so much? What does he like most?

[John Kirkley:] A pure heart.

[Others:] Love.

He would like, as we all do, truth, life and love. But what does he like the most of these three?

[Father and everyone repeat:] Love!

You already know the answer. You have already known the answer, but why is love liked so well by God, to? Because it is love.

[Father finishes a sentence in English:] … long, very one, is love.

Father meant by that that love is something long (lo) and something very (ve i.e. lo + ve = love). The concept of ‘longing-ness’ and the concept of ‘veryness.’

[General laughter.]

So… doesn’t care were the word came from [Laughter.], but it has to be from ‘long’ and ‘very’, love. If you memorize it that way, you will never forget love for the rest of your life from now on. But if you just remember love, then you might forget it.

[Father, in English:] Long, long, forever; very, very forever.

The contents of love is that way. So, God loves that himself.

Then, let us examine, do Americans have love?

[Don’t know.]

Do Americans have love?

[We do! Yes! Hope so! Father: Good! Then, love is Americanized love, yes….]

[Father laughs.]

Do Americans have life?

[Yes! Father, an Americanized one…]

Probably, that would be Americanized life, too. Do America people have truth?

Without that, they would never survive, so they have something, which is Americanized truth. So, Americans put all emphasis on reality, you can even say, all so-called reality.

The universe exists one, way, Americans exist another way. In fact [in the America way.], love exists for him, for me, and life exists for me, truth must exist for me. The universe is very much in dissent, against that kind of limitation. Love is not for him, life is not for himself, the truth is not for himself. It is for the universe, the universe will claim. So, as long as that self-interest, that self-centeredness lasts… if it lasts a little bit, OK, but if it lasts more and more and they demand more and more, then it will come to a point where it has to be shattered, because it goes in contradiction with the universe. Both can never survive. One has to be shattered, and one has to prosper. The prospering is the universe.

When a big tree dies, we can observe that the far top end of the tree starts dying, and that death will spread lower and lower. Do you understand?…

… the young people, we can compare that to young people. They die withering down. So, it is a matter of time. You don’t have to see it die. If some time elapses, automatically it will die. One way to make it alive, or to check the spread of death, is to cut it off and splinter it, then graft it to a new something. Where is that new something which has been grafted to the old tree? Those are the Moonies, they are the new life that has been grafted to the old trees. We and you cherish it and applaud, saying ‘Amen!’ What about all Americans?

[Father: Ah! Ah! Ah!]

They make lots of noise.

When God works on the big tree of America, and the tip of a limb is dying, then you cut it off, may be cut it off in… the great length, because death has spread to it, like a limb that has started decaying, you don’t cut here, you cut way up here, so that it won’t spread. God does the same, he cuts it and grafts it with the Moonies, which are rather small now. They don’t know, when they grow up, how big they’ll be; they don’t think about it. So, they think, ‘why do you cut that big one and graft a small one?’ That is the way they think. They cannot understand.

That has been Rev. Moon’s business, ever since he came to America. He is an intelligent person. He wants to say, ‘America is great, America is great!’ and everybody will welcome him. When he says, ‘America will die, America will perish.’ That is the consistent warning that Rev. Moon has been giving. To Carter he said it, to the Congress he said it, at the Washington Monument, where Millions of people were gathered, he said America is dying, perishing.

The audiences are wrong too, because they are white people, they have never thought that anybody could be superior to them; they were pretty much confident. Now, here there was an oriental man, and they had

never thought very much about Orientals so far. If another white Caucasian man had come and given them this warning, this would not have been so bitter to swallow, but here it was an oriental who came and gave them that warning. So, Father can really imagine how upset they are; it is understandable!

To add to that bitterness, look at all these young people, they never listen to their own parents, who were supposed to be so superior, and they never listen to their own teachers or to their president, but they listen to Rev. Moon, life or death. So, they are more upset, upset to God, actually.

Actually, we can reason out in a very simple way. Everybody agrees that the best way for a country to go, as well as for an individual, is the way towards God’s direction. Since God is invisible, we cannot show God to the physical eyes. Then, if you follow someone whom God loves most, it is the same as going God’s direction. So, Christianity has been prosperous in the country, in fact it achieved a certain success in this country, but still they had the problem of being accurate on who, among the Christians, they had to follow. It has always been the problem. Never so acute as it is today, but…

Another way of describing the man whom we can follow is the one who teaches the most basic truth, the most basic Principles about love itself, and never compromises with society and the world even an iota if it doesn’t comply with the matter of Principle. If someone is teaching that way of teaching to everyone, then he is the one who is closest to God. We can even reason that way. So, the truth which is taught in the Unification Church applies not only to one age group. It applies also to the middle-age group, and just as well to the young age, to children, to senior citizens and even to infants.

So, for Rev. Moon, it is not only young people who love him, but even grand-mother and grand-father age people, once they know him, once they identify him inside themselves… like children, no question about it, they have no intelligence like the grown-ups, but their liking is instant, more candid.

It doesn’t matter what color of skin he might have, whether he’d be a woman or a man,… he should be universal. Does the sun deliver its heat and its sun rays only to white people, and is it cold to black people? It is just as warm to black people as it is to white people. May be that is one area where the Unification Church is different from ordinary Christians. It is… We not only teach something which is consistent, but also we do what we teach, and we never think ourselves to be right, we know we are right.

Nevertheless, where should America go now? Where?

[Voices: America (laughter), Kingdom of Heaven, absolute truth, absolute God.]

We say, ‘absolute truth’, but how do we get there? By what Principle?

[Follow Father!]

Well, then, where should America go? In other words, if you use another expression, it boils down to the fact that America should go the same direction the Unification Church goes. Just follow them; then it will be the right direction.

Let us raise our question, then. If all America went the same direction as the Unification Church, and Rev. Moon was moving, too, eventually, would America perish?

Or would America prosper?

How can you be so confident to know that it won’t perish?

[Inaudible answers.]

Because we understand clearly how an individual should be, how a family should be, how a race should be, how a clan (e.g. the family Smith) should be, and how a nation should be, how the universe is and how God is; everything will fit into, consistently.

Once we find ourselves in that right direction, there are all kinds of supporting phenomena. So far, I have been lacking power, I have been devoid of power, I have been lacking the feeling. But now I have the power flowing out of myself, now I feel the happiness well out of myself. Now, I see, even though momentarily, the unmistakable peace well out of myself, we love ourselves. Then, we can pretty much tell ourselves, ‘we are on the right direction.’

So far, we have been coveting life, wanting life, we have been really wanting life so badly. Now, we are ready to give that love to others.

We can see a woman here, whose phrenology is such that she is born in such a way that even the smallest

criticism towards her will really upset her. After she joins the Unification Church, we will pour a hose of criticism upon her, she just stays indifferent… a breeze coming. If they are beaten, they try to forget it, and they soon forget it successfully. And if they see something unjust to them - if unjust to other, they will fight - but unjust to them, they will say, ‘well, he doesn’t know, I have to understand him; he will never understand me.’ Then, that crisis is over.

Like Hyo Jin Nim, after the demonstration to Father, a few days ago. Father asked, ‘how do you feel now?’ He said, ‘I feel different.’ ‘In what way?’ he said: ‘Before that, many people bothered me, and I really felt indignation. I really wanted revenge. In other words, when they touch me, I wanted to strike back. But now that I know that once I strike back he is dead, I just try my best to be indifferent, and I am quite successful. Nothing bothers me,’ he says.

Why? Because once he blames, or judges someone, that should be a law. This is why he has to understand and he has to stop, because it will stop him for the rest of his life.

Looking at America, if Father will damn America, God will have to recognize that as a law. When America is damned, so go the Moonies along with it!

[Father laughs.]

So, there are these formidable contents that go along with it. Father saw that happen himself. Father was not conscious, but Father found himself saying something, and sure enough, it became just as Father had said it would. So, Father knows that he himself is a formidable being. Do you follow?

This time, we must really remind ourselves of Jesus’ position. When Jesus was about to be crucified, he was really crucified not because he deserved it himself, but because people did not believe in him. He was about to be killed, but if he had retaliated, if he had damned all mankind… Jesus knew there was no way for their future, for their survival. This is why he had to go beyond this impossible barrier, and he said, ‘forgive them, for they know not what they do.’

So, we really must understand that when Jesus said, ‘love your enemy,’ he did not mean that there is an enemy, and another enemy, and you must love each other, and they are all the time enemies… What he meant was that even the enemy who should be eliminated according to the law of the universe - something that does not go along with the law of the universe should be liquidated - even that enemy who deserves liquidation, still we must love him, so that he will have a future, so that one day he will repent and one day he will have salvation himself. This is the only reason why Jesus said, ‘love thy enemy.’

So, the Unification Church has been going through an incredible, ridiculous persecution, we know that. Whatever we did, we did it genuinely and we did it for the sake of God himself and so Father turned it around. Did the Unification Church perish? [No!] This is the basic thing that the Unification Church has been doing - it was something very basic that the government has to do. They didn’t do it, so the Unification Church did it. That is all there is to it, but they have been persecuting us, because we did something good. We have lots of material to prove that. Also, we many plans which the government cannot even make for the entire country.

American people, are we are not blaming it? We just must realize if America has been reasonable or unreasonable, righteous or unrighteous, good or bad - in fact, America has been bad. They have been trying to oust Rev. Moon, not only themselves, but instigated other countries and pressures other countries to ship him out of America. And these are not just allegations. There are proof after proof and document after document which the official wrote with their own hands. The average Unification Church member doesn’t know what they did. They did not yet pay attention to that.

So, it was like a one-handed fight against millions of people. We know as a fact that the Unification Church did not go down. In fact, it prospered all the more.

So far, in the face of the earth, the United States government was the strongest. There was no question about that. Anyone they decided to eliminate, it was rather easy for them to do it, whether an individual or a group. So, they thought nothing of it, ‘oh, the Moonies, we’ll wipe them out overnight.’ Like Iran, one country… from perfectly existing country, overnight it was sold to the evil power, they are killing by the thousands, we know that - Iran, for instance, one wrong move on the part of Carter, and it changed its president and a once ally just… down the river, just like that. This is everywhere.

They thought the Unification Church would be easy, and they tried everything they could. But something different from what they expected happened. We wouldn’t budge. They don’t even know until this moment or why the Unification Church stays. Is that because Rev. Moon is a very capable person, is that why they are not able to eliminate him? [No.]

If truth does not remain, if the universe does not protect the truth, then we can say there is no God. The fact that truth is not eliminated is very much the proof that someone exists to protect him. Even today, does America like Moonies or does it dislike Moonies? [No.] What are we going to do about it? So, we have to rub each other and see who lasts the longest, who is soft and who is hard. The hard one will…

The weak ones, or the unjust ones are always like the weak enemy, so that they can win over them easily; but the righteous ones are prepared to challenge the hardest thing to counter him, to prove the point, that they are right. Satan’s side chooses the easy way, where everybody else is likely to go, they just follow that, whereas the truthful thing always chooses the difficult way, even at… Do you understand? [Yes.] And the Unification Church? From the beginning of the Unification Church in this country, especially Rev. Moon found the most difficult way to go to be his way.

What a difference that all American young people will say…

[Father, in English: including old people, too!]

…’let us go the easy way,’ and, sorry to say, parents are no exception, they want to go the easy way, too, but all the Moonies will say, ‘let us go the most difficult way to turn this country around. [Amen!] Do you really say ‘Amen’? [Yes!!] When you say ‘A-men,’ that means…

[Father, in English:] Not A-men, ‘Aahh-men.’

[Everybody repeats.]

Ahh means surprise! Men is every person, everybody. Ah-men. [Laughter.] Is that true? [Yes!]

Who are Ah-men in this country, or in this universe? [Moonies, Sunnies.] We decided to choose the most difficult way in America. Then, what is the most difficult thing in America. What is it? [Unity. Sacrifice.] What is the most difficult thing in America? [Unselfishness. Immorality.] Well, one thing which is most difficult in America, if you really think, is to away with all the discrimination of the races, aware or not aware, conscious or unconscious. So far, we have already established that the reason America was able to continue up to today, was because of Christianity. Without that, everything would have been like bricks without mortar. Christianity has been holding that job.

Even now we have that smell of Christianity yet remaining, but what if even the smell goes away, in other words, what if Christianity completely falls down and fades out of the picture? What happens… So far, Christianity has been holding these groups together as a nation, but Christianity is fast declining, we now that, and even Christians know that. Then, since Christians have been the center which holds this mortar, then what Christianity has been doing is a most difficult thing. So, to revive Christianity again, to put the original Christian spirit back into Christianity is the most difficult thing in this country. We can deduce that.

No matter what good, famous college a boy or girl comes from, e.g. Harvard or Yale, is there anyone who is really patriotic enough to really care about America or about the Church, about God, about Christ? No. So, what the Unification Church is about to do, is to once again, …those people who are ready to run away from churches back to their churches, give them the spirit once more, give them the life once more and give them the truth which has been only fragmental and keep them, re-instate them in the best faith there can ever be. Especially the young people who don’t have to think about their family members. Here, Christianity stands a chance of being revived into a better standard, a far better standard than the one Christianity once enjoyed, only a decade ago. Would that be so? [Yes.]

You have been in the Seminary less than a year, and some only slightly more than a year. But, whoever you get into a debate with, they are quite helpless, you find; don’t you? Not just Christians, but theologians, world-renowned Christian theologians, professors who have been teaching Christian theology for decades and decades, for twenty or thirty years, will come and sit down at the table with you, they’ll go into debates and discussions, seminars, what have you.

[Father makes a face, people laugh.]

The smallest punch will in fact give them a severe blow. You are like a giant, aren’t you?

To revive Christianity once more to the high spiritual standard it once enjoyed, everybody finds to be an impossible task. But for Moonies, it is relatively easy, isn’t it? So far, Christian churches have been believing in God at best. Now you are, and we all are teaching them, proving to them, making them know that God exists. Which is to be preferred, to believe in something or to know something, so that you can follow its pattern? [Know!]

Which would you rather have, then, would you rather believe in something and obey, or know something and follow? [Know!] We have never been mistaken in that pattern, all moves in that way, they discovered, they found and they followed, by their own will. Rev. Moon also. We no longer believe in God as a savior, but we believe in him as an entity of love and we serve him with love, too. How different it is! That in itself is proof enough that the Unification Church can overdo even this most difficult thing which no nation and no leader can do or has been able to do, to revive this Christian spirit again. Nobody has been doing it, it is so difficult to think. But the Unification Church has been rather successful in doing it and expects no real difficulty for the future in accomplishing this. This proves in itself that the

Unification Church is doing something in which the government is far behind us. They can never reach us.

When a vehicle, a car is running at a formidable speed, what is controlling that vehicle? Is that the steering wheel? [No, the driver.] The driver, of course, with the steering wheel. But what if it comes into a danger? The brakes have to work, too. So, when we are going at a very fast speed, once we feel we must stop, we have to be able to stop. Should the brakes be more powerful than the speed of the car, or can they be less powerful than the speed of the car? [More powerful!] When we apply the brakes to their fullest extent, will there not be sparks, will the heat not burn the brakes themselves? [Yes.] This is actually what we are doing now. America is a gigantic being…

[Father, in English: car, car!]

…it can be compared to a gigantic car in its full speed. If you keep them going, Heaven knows where they will fall off, then we have to apply brakes. There is no such a way that is long enough and good enough that you can go at a full speed for a long period of time and not fall off the cliff.

America is the same way. America has been going there full of physical vitality, so they keep on going. They have to stop, apply the brakes. That one moment of real crisis, when we have to stop and nobody can stop except the Moonies, and the Moonies will fully apply the brakes to stop, that is when the Moonies… So, the people are looking for the Moonies, where are the Moonies?

[Father, in English:] Where is the brake?

[Laughter…]

So in America, even the president will say, ‘we have to stop here, it is too dangerous,’ then he looks for the brake, ‘where is the brake?’ Then, the Moonies will say, here we are. Amen!

Actually, nobody care about the brakes, as long as they are going full speed and enjoying the scenery; they never think about the brakes. Honestly, the power of the whole of America, especially at the speed it is going, and all the Moonies’ power put together, when you weigh them in a scale, the Moonies’ side should tip, it has to become heavier than all America put together. Otherwise we aren’t able to make it come to a stop. So, are we really confident we will be stronger than them? [Yes!!] Can you really believe that we all are somewhat stronger than them? [Yes!!] American people are accustomed to saying ‘Jesus.’ When you say ‘Jesus’ quickly that is Jes…, that means Yes!

That is exactly what Jesus was trying to do. Jesus did actually try. When the roman empire was going fast, Jesus wanted to apply the last brakes himself. He wanted to stop it, that gigantic nation, all single- handedly. Everybody stands to reason. The explanation may be simple, but actually is it difficult or easy to do the actual work? Christians themselves tried everything they could, and many even know how to pray hard. Even the nation set out to size up and once again improve America. Everybody, the philosophers, the scholars, the political leaders, everyone tried to do it but totally failed, and now it is a common sense that nobody can do it. Period. If someone claims he can do it, he is an insane person. This is the common understanding. Whereas Rev. Moon claims, ‘I will do it, it is easy.’

So far, no denomination has ever been serious in teaching Karate to their congregation. No Catholic Father ever put emphasis that we have to have the art of self-defense. Look at it now. Listen to me now, listen well: today, we know there are many Catholic Fathers with their robes, and Christian ministers who are actually Communists. They are actually teaching that there is no God. When the right moment for them comes, they will immediately turn to become real hoodlums, really violent…

So, we Moonies will really all train ourselves with the self-defense art of Karate. We won’t show, but soon enough, when the Communists reach their culmination, when they reach their last day, then Communists will come out, show themselves, whereas now they are underground… Christian ministers and Catholic fathers will reveal themselves and they will come and try to use force. Then, that is when you will go out and, begging for God’s excuse for a moment, and you will know them out. Stop them. Show them once and for all that the Moonies are not what them may seem to be.

When Goliath had his fullest power, he was knocking out everybody. When David appeared and decided, ‘I will stop him!’ and did what he did, do you think that God blamed him for what he did? [No!] One thing a religious person should be is brave and audacious. Even though Rev. Moon had to fight the entire Congress, which means the entire America, single-handedly, he never felt weak… history, we saw Fraser knocked clearly out of… Did Rev. Moon fight a good war, or did he fight an insignificant war? [Good war!]

God really loves and wants someone who is really strong at the scene of injustice, one who is indignant, angry at injustice, and who stand up against it, no matter how much power there is. Do you follow? If they come with a truth, then you counter them with a better truth. If they come with love, then you counter them with stronger love. Even when they threaten you with physical force, then you quell them, you silence them with a stronger power; that is the only alternative we have.

So, today Father is encouraging even the children, and all the Unification Church members, to learn Karate. Why, then, should a religious leader lead a group like that? Because no matter how right we are, no matter how righteous we are, still there is Communism on the face of the earth, and it is our responsibility to change them, no us. This is why we are learning self-defense. Do you follow?

The revival of the Christian spirit and Christendom in America is the most difficult task that can ever be, and that most difficult task Rev. Moon has taken the responsibility for. Those who are former Catholics, raise your hands! Those who used to be Presbyterian, raise your hands! Actually, each and every one of you had is strong self-assertion. You had your own idea of what is right and what is wrong, and you have been struggling very hard, you really tried everything and simply gave up. Then, you came into the Unification Church. But Father asks you a question: have you become better or worse since the time of your old Church days? [Better!!] How much better? [Much better!] Now, the people are crawling and looking at you, asking ‘why are you flying, is that not too high?’ The people who are crawling blame you because you are flying.

We see many parents who are still crawling and say, ‘why are you flying?’

Actually, that is the only reason why they are persecuting you: because you are flying, while they crawl. So far, may be, we are not good enough yet, but what about ten years from now? Will your parents say, ‘ten years ago you were bad, but now you are worse? [No!] Rather, ten years ago you were good, but now you are even much better! Now, if you go the way your parents suggest you go, where will you be in ten years? No place, probably.

To be honest, some people don’t particularly like Rev. Moon, but what he teaches is the way, no mistake about it. So, even though he is an Oriental and I am a Caucasian, and certainly a Caucasian is superior to all other races, though I don’t feel god about it, I have to go into the right direction’

[Father:] That’s true!

When we have followed him long enough, we will become like him. Let us put it this way. You always wanted to have a nice necklace. You really wanted to have it, only second to your life. And now there is one in the store, at a very affordable price. So, you went and bought it. You really liked that necklace. Then you looked at it, and it was made in Japan. You wished very much it was made in USA, you would have loved it even more. But you can’t help it. Nobody makes them better than Japan. It is the same thing. The analogy is like that.

[Father:] That is true!

If Rev. Moon were white, how really proud all white people would be. They would go everywhere, to Africa, Korea, etc., and say ‘Oh, Rev. Moon, we have him in America!’ You would have said that long time ago. And then, how much more Rev. Moon would be famous around the world. If Rev. Moon as a white man, with a white mask, were to go before Congress and make all the eloquent speeches he wants, people would applaud him…

Actually, the white people would be jubilant. But, on the contrary God would really hate to see that scene. That Rev. Moon as a white would go to preach to the whites - God would really hate to see that. So, now God is happy, that Father is Oriental and teaching the white people. To God, there is no greater enjoyment than that. This is why God is protecting Rev. Moon. If he didn’t like him, he would not protect him.

One way of finding out whether this is a true statement or not is to find out directly from God. I will even show you how. Abstain from food, go into fasting for 40 days, and you bet your life and pray to God, ‘God, give me the answer, or else I’ll die.’ If you do that, God will give you an answer, one way or another. If you don’t want to do that, the only alternative you have is to believe in someone who teaches you that this is it. If you still don’t want to go either way, if you don’t want to pray yourselves and don’t want to listen to anybody else, then you follow Rev. Moon for a short period of time and find out what happens.

You can fool the dumbest people, may be up to three years. But never more than three years. And all of you have really worked…, more than three years, harder and harder; we don’t even know where this work will finish, but are you disheartened? [No!] Why? How can you say no so confidently? The more we live with Rev. Moon, the deeper we become. The more we follow his advice and his command, the more we will know why we have to work this hard. Not because of myself, not even because of my immediate family, but because of the entire America and the entire mankind.

Contrary to the extremely wrong image created by the media, Rev. Moon never used a red penny out of money earned in America. In fact, the wealthy American have been dipping into Rev. Moon’s pocket for millions of dollars…

[Father:] Several million dollars!

…whereas Rev. Moon never dipped into your pocket, not even for a cent. This is a fact, and the government knows that. Isn’t that true?

But the world thinks completely the other way around. They think that Rev. Moon is exploiting the young people, makes money and uses it to make himself a comfortable life. Absurd! So, the IRS launched a serious investigation. Do you know that they did? They spent days and days for two complete years and more, every day their office was one of our offices. They came just to find some fault with us… They gave up. They concluded that there was nothing to be found wrong in the Unification Church.

Their conclusion was also that, instead, Rev. Moon has been spending his own money, or his foreign earned money, for the sake of America. Now, if some really just person comes out and asks you, when is America going to pay this back, what is your answer going to be? [Now!]

[Father:] Sounds very good! What do you have now? Nothing! When do you pay back that amount of money?

No, I am not asking you to pay it back to me, but to pay it back to all the rest of the world, where they are still going hungry, starving. You go, serve them, and pay back it to them. If you cannot pay back, you serve them, as a means of paying back. You pioneer their way for them to live.

Today, we are incurring many expenses, even in this difficult financial situation of our Church, only because one day we will speak the same language as them, we will understand their problems much better through studying, and one day we will serve them. This is why we are studying now.

We have just described one most difficult thing in America, which is to revive the Christian spirit. What is the second thing? What is most difficult thing in America? [Immorality.] Immorality. Where are the parents who don’t love their children? They love their children so much. But today, where are the parents who are capable of stopping the immoral path of their own children. History shows us time and again that, as long as they keep this immorality, it doesn’t take more than a few years or a few decades for the entire nation to collapse. America is witnessing this right now.

We will eventually loose not only the children, not only the wives and husbands and relatives, the nation’s citizens; we will lose everything, once and for all. This is the formidable immorality. Immorality not of the old generation, but of the new generation. How are we ever going to stop it? We are reaching out even to middle and high schools through CARP activities. CARP does not only reach out to serious college students. You know that all of your seniors are thrust into CARP activities now.

No matter how reasonable or practical a way you may use to approach this, there is absolutely no way for the traditional, conventional American philosophy, or way of thinking, to change the course of corruption and immorality. From now on, all of you, bachelors and unmarried women, are you going to marry once and for all, or are you going to marry a second time and a third time [Once and for all!] Until when? [Forever!] May be after you have had a few children, that will be the end of your pledge, is that right? [No!]

If you apply the strictest standard of God, marrying many times is almost no different from animals. Today, an extremely bad case that is still commonly found is communities where they exchange their wives. This is absolutely like the animal kingdom. What is the result of that? Certain destruction. Not only the… is in immediate jeopardy, but the generations, the children, everything is at stake, everything is in peril. They will simply perish.

Those who welcome it if their physical parents’ divorce, raise your hands. No children want their parents to divorce. You want them to stay with you for the rest of your life and longer. The other day we went down to Atlanta, Georgia, ad had the people whose parents are divorced raise their hands. An incredible 42 % raised their hands. The question went on further. In your opinion - they seemed to be smart enough - to whom should this divorce be attributed, to your mother or to your father? 75 % blamed their mother, 25 % blamed their father.

So, Rev. Moon is saying forthrightly that American women must change drastically. Then, one day, there will be a time when American women will have a very difficult time to find their mate, one way or the other, and to marry. You are never completely out of the pattern of American women. You are also American women, aren’t you? Do you welcome American womanhood, in other words, do you think there is nothing wrong with American women? [No..] The only reason we bring that up is to point it out and correct it. That is all. Perhaps, they can learn a lesson much better through an oriental woman, why not? And Father will one day take the American women and make them better than the Oriental women. Do you welcome that? [Yes!] Only one responded immediately. The others had to think!

All you women, do you welcome that? Father often thinks he should marry all these American women members to tough husbands, who will always go after them, nag them, bother them, give it to them. By the time they survive, they will really have learned something. Then, therefore, they will establish a good

tradition, once and for all, for the future generations.

[Father:] Do you welcome it?

The answer clearly, this is recorded.

These women are like queens, and the poor husbands are like servants, opening the door of the car… If that keeps on for generation after generation, for hundreds of years, there is no chance for you not to be spoiled, that is natural. If anything, in God’s law, the women are to be obedient to man, not the other way around. We know it even in the animal kingdom. The males are stronger, and therefore protect the females. The females depend on them, not the other way. This is a law of nature.

So, we must really pay a lot of attention to this. In your household, in your family, there should be only one subject. In American slang, there should be only one boss. Who should be the boss in your family? [The husband!] The husband or the wife? [The husband!] So far, in American families, there were two bosses [The wife and the kids!] They keep two savings accounts, for both bosses. How to explain it? It makes no sense. Everybody is doing it, but everybody is unnatural.

They say that love is to be shared equally, and money certainly is not as precious as love. So, how can we deny that, in looking at it this way, it is true that you cherish money more than love. Let us take the case of an ordinary married woman; if someone offers her a lot of money, will she go after that money, or will she go after her husband? She will probably go after the money. If not in reality, this is a logical conclusion. From now on, Father might not even give you money to put into a savings account anyway, so you don’t need to worry about it. But, if be some chance, Father gives you money, he doesn’t want to see it put onto separate accounts. Would you do it or not? [No!]

In whose name are you going to do it, in your name or in your husband’s name? [Husband’s name.] An ordinary, average American woman would think very hard and say, ‘my name’. But the Unification women members will say, ‘husband’s name’ without wasting any time. Immediate response. It is good that the husband eventually takes responsibility for the household. Women are to train men that way.

Look at this ironic situation. America’s most difficult problem, now, like a cancer, is the morality problem. Can the American government have a plan to correct that? Or does the Catholic pope have a solution to that? Or the Protestant ministers or theologians? Who in the world has an immediate solution for this problem? Nobody except Rev. Moon. And the people blame Rev. Moon even without that problem. It is the strangest thing, and it really takes a lot of studying to understand that. You probably won’t. It is that Rev. Moon is the only one who seriously tackles this problem, very successfully.

[Father’s children interrupt.]

…That is a normal relationship with the children.

Whenever an average American family hears the news that there is a place where they make extremely abnormal children into quite normal, respectable citizens, if there is even a rumor that somebody is doing that, they should beg to tell them where that place is. Now, the Unification Church is doing it, not only one, by tens, by hundreds, by thousands. It is unmistakable, fool-proof. And still people blame the Unification Church for correcting their own children and making them into good ones. What kind of…

Do you know that Rev. Moon can assume that responsibility? [We know!] If you really know that Rev. Moon can do that, then why do you keep your mouth shut when there is a lot of persecution against Rev. Moon? What are going to do with your mouth? What are you going to use it for, later, by saving it? Just speak out! When someone says very evil things about the Moonies or Rev. Moon, you demand of them to offer proof. One day, they say brainwashing, and one time they said CIA… Certainly they cannot blame Rev. Moon for that reason now. Do you follow?

Like all the parents, here and everywhere in the world, especially in the United States, if you come up with one problem child, and you really don’t know how to cope with him, you really tried everything and care about him, then you send him to us. Within six months, we will make a new man out of him. Guaranteed. [Applause.]

It is all a matter of time. Soon, there will be enough people, there will be an avalanche of people. All will want to try to get into the Unification Church, even only to make themselves into a better person. Soon, Rev. Moon will have to escape out of that situation… invite them to visit with his family, one time. Rev. Moon knows that, for sure. That is why he is persecuted, ridiculed and called names; sometimes he is really angry, but he keeps on going and doesn’t pay attention to what they say.

Rev. Moon has the key, the only key; without that key, without him, no solution is to be found in this problem. This immorality problem, is it only a problem in America, or is it pretty much a world problem today? [World problem.] Let Father ask you a question: how long have you been in the Unification

Church? Six years? Four years? During these years, has anyone of you ever dated, hand in hand with your boyfriend or girlfriend, after joining the Unification Church? [No!] What do you feel about never being able to find your mate for the rest of your life?

[Silence; then someone:] That’s OK.

Don’t you fear? The girls are getting older and older every year. Soon, you won’t have a decent candidate [Laughter.]

Still, they couldn’t care less. Let Father ask you another question then. Don’t you think, sometimes, of those days of sweet memory, when you dated with your boyfriend or girlfriend and really had a nice time together? Then, why don’t you follow that pattern again? Do you really struggle not to remember that memory, or do you feel it is nothing, you just hush and your memory will go away? Do you rather easily overcome this memory? [Easily!] Because you found something better, Father!

So, the women, sometimes when you meet a really handsome and wealthy person, do you think, ’ I wish he could be my spouse one day’, do you think that? [No!] You may think that Father approves or believes, when there is a handsome and wealthy man, ‘I wish one day he would join the Unification Church and be blessed with me’. You can’t think that way, can’t you? Nothing wrong with that.

What about the men. Would men lust over someone you would like to be with? [No.] Don’t you have an impulse to be with a woman, too? [Yes.] What do you say, then? [laughter.] Then, you command, ‘this is not the time’ to yourselves, and that thought dies away, and your body listens to you? If you cannot control yourselves to that extent, then certainly one thing you cannot be, you can never become a leader.

Without being able to control yourselves in such a simple way, where right and wrong are so simple, and follow the right side, you can never control yourselves. If someone still finds it difficult to put himself under control, would you like Father to teach you how to control yourself? Think of it this way. If you’d really like to be with a woman whom you love or whom you would like to love, then think, ‘Oh, on second thought, after all, I never knew that she was my most loving younger sister, from common parents; we were long ago separated, and we never knew.’ Then, you love her like you would love your own younger sister - a sisterly love.

If she happens to be an elder sister to you by age, you regard her as an elder sister, and show her respect. If she is a quite aged woman compared to your age, then regard her as your aunt, an aunt that you respect very much. What decent man would ever think in terms of sex of his own sister, aunt, respected elder sister. Certainly, an elder sister is an elder sister, a younger sister is a younger sister, not an elder spouse. Isn’t that true?

Will Rev. Moon look at beautiful American women and think, ‘she is pretty’? Do you think Father will think so or not think? Father knows that among many good daughters, Father has one daughter like her, but certainly never with a sexual connotation. So, Father will caress the cheeks, the face, the hair in a way that is only too natural. He feel nothing of it. Therefore, she feels that he feels nothing of it. How beautiful!

Unless you are able to successfully cope with your lust and dominate it completely, you will never amount to anything, not any religious being. Especially you as clergymen, theologians, ministers to be. If you are really, honestly not able to do that, you might as well get rid of that crucial area. This is not unrecorded in the Bible. Many people challenged themselves in that way. We might as well do that, because we are the only ones who carry out what we believe in.

Especially when you give a sermon. Sometimes, some ministers and Catholic priests, if they have to fight against their own temptations while they are on the alter delivering a speech, how false it is, and how miserable. The Bible has a forthright advice. If you cannot do that, get rid of it. Doesn’t the Bible say that? Without that strict standard, we will never be able to cope with the immoral society.

So, Unification Church members are great in the respect that, even after they get married, when they decide to do so, they go and sleep in the same bed, like a normal husband and wife would, naked, and still nothing happens for seven years. Do you understand? Because this is… God’s teaching, we know that, therefore, in that respect, all Unification Church members are great.

There are 800 denominations, and there are easy churches that dance every night, every week, and feast every week and feast every month, why don’t we go there and join that congregation? Rev. Moon is being persecuted by everyone and being called names and being misunderstood, trying to protect you who have gathered here. When Father says, ’ go away’, you still won’t go away, will you [No!] Is that because Rev. Moon is threatening you not to leave, or is that because you yourselves weigh the entire situation and you know it is best, that this is absolutely the final destination as a man, that is why you say here. Which?

If someone really bothers you, making you work hard and never allows to do as you want, still, do you have the confidence that this is the best place to stay? [Yes!] Why? Because you are very ambitious, because you want a lot, that is one reason. You have such an ambition that you want to become even

better than Rev. Moon himself one day. You will get the price which Rev. Moon did not get. Who would give that price? God.

That means that Father plays the role of a media for you to get a price from God, is that right? [Yes.] Father tells you, that price you win, you get from God, you keep it yourselves, that is yours. If you are to give it to Rev. Moon and Rev. Moon accepts it, if he accepts all the prices you get, he may be a dictators, but if you keep it, certainly he is not a dictator.

[Father:] True? [Yes!]

So, the most difficult thing all countries face today, especially America, that most difficult task Rev. Moon has pledged to himself ever since his birth, ever since he is conscious, to be responsible for. Then, again, what is the third most difficult problem that America faces today? [Communism.] You are right, Communism. Does the American government have any plan, any measures to go against that to protect democracy against its invisible and visible invasion? Or does the pope have any workable plan? Does anybody have any plan at all?

Don’t you know that the only staunch anti-communist, the only effective anti-communist, only one in the world… How do you prove that? Americans don’t know…

So, Communism is like a one man party over the government, a one party government. The Communist party is the only party, in the world. If the Communists regard the world as one nation, that one nation had only one party so far, which is the Communist party. Now, the appearance of Rev. Moon is the same as the appearance of a second party. Until that time, there was no other party. Communists know that we are no weak competitor. Communists know that they have a self-contradiction, they know that they are not certain anymore themselves. But they know that Rev. Moon has a far superior, stronger theory.

History already says that. In Korea, which is one country under constant threat of Communism. Nobody, Korea is no exception, could do anything about Communism. Yet, Rev. Moon is the only one who taught hundreds of thousands of people about anti-Communism. The presidential office of Korea knows that the Intelligence agency knows that the police headquarters know that the criminal investigation organization knows that everybody, even the people, knows. In the beginning, nobody believed in Father either. They just thought it was a good motive, but what about his achievements? He never proved anything, did he?

So, they persecuted the Unification Church even more for that, saying they claim to be the only ones who can stop Communism, but among an incredible persecution, we have been working really hard to educate the average Koreans, the leader class Koreans in anti-communism, very effectively. Only these last four or five years, they have been opening their eyes. Today, they unanimously say, yes, he is the only effective way to stop Communism.

In Japan it is the same. On Japanese college campuses, Rev. Moon stopped Communism. In many small, medium and large cities in Japan, the mayor was Communist. Nobody could ever do anything about it. Communists were gaining ground little by little, slowly but steadily, all the time. Then, Father gave one blow, and in a few cities, the Communist mayors were expelled from their seats. They simply didn’t win the election.

CARP was extremely successful in Japan, and CARP had the initiative in all college campuses over the Communist students. In fact, teaching Karate and Kyeok Sul Do was initiated ten years ago, from the onset of CARP activities there. Because Father knew that Communists one day would use violent means, so even people with a high ideal, namely us, should not be beaten by muscle power. Therefore, Father encouraged them to start teaching martial arts.

There was sometimes a small, frail woman who came and shouted out from the top of her lungs, denouncing Communism. So, they thought that a few men, even not so strong physically, could easily take care of her. She knocked out twenty men. After that, they soon found out. Then, they became really afraid of CARP members. Then, Father decided to go an easier way, so he opened about 340 gun shops. This is what newspapers really accused Father of.

We never used them, we never had a chance to use them. In Japan, guns are never like in America. They are never to be found anywhere, except at the police station. But we owned 340 legal gun dealerships. The Communists knew it. The Communists also knew that, once Rev. Moon would give the go ahead, all the guns on stock in the 340 gun shops would be aimed at Communism. So, it was a silent demonstration. Then, the government was alarmed and started doubting us, thinking that Rev. Moon one day would overthrow the government. Certainly not! That would be the last thing. We don’t’ even think about it. We don’t even dream about it.

But, soon after that, when the Communist menace seemed to be very apparent, then the police came to the Unification Church Headquarters and told them, we encourage you, if you want to apply for a gun shop,

we will give you a permit, there is no problem. So, man of violence, dictator: actually, it may sound like there is some reason to it, but you can never be a dictator when what you earn, you keep. Or merely to keep weapons in some area doesn’t make you a man of violence. Communists are men of violence. We are to prevent them, that is all.

What if we did not keep guns? What if you, in Father’s position, did not keep guns? What would have happened? Many Unification Church members would have suffered, and many would have been killed, that’s all. We were never killed.

So, now Father made the “Oh Inchon” MacArthur movie. The Communists invaded one day, they have been propagandizing for thirty years that South Korea started it, America started it, not North Korea. That is the typical way of Communist propaganda. They twist the fact by 180 degrees. So, Father made a movie this time, one of the most expensive movies. The most expensive movie in history, spending 35 Million Dollars, paying out more than 25 Million dollars in cash. Already spent.

Does Father look like a man who has 25 Million Dollars in his pocket? Nine dollar pants and thirteen dollar shirt and seven dollar shoes, 25 Million Dollar movie. So, the Communists opposed Father making a movie, saying “don’t cooperate with them, don’t make movies”. Kim Il sung had a Communist staff members’ conference. But who could stop revealing the facts. We are doing all these things that are the government’s job. It is the government’s work to do that. And the government doesn’t even have an idea who to go about it, whereas Rev. Moon is taking it single-handedly, spending the money.

At the minimum, if you solve these three imminent problems, then America will continue to exist. It may not immediately prosper, but it will exist. Then, America will keep on continuing to exist, and then get better, certainly not perish. And while they are getting better, they have plenty of a chance for Christianity to go over and become high spirit once more. Then, as long as the United States will be held sane, the whole Free World will not have to perish. That means, that one day we will be successful stopping Communism, and liberating Communists through the efforts of the Free World.

Since God knows all that, how could God help sending Rev. Moon to America? This is how God told him to go to America and stop these things. If he didn’t have that good reason to come to America, why did he have to come to America? Certainly, he had money enough to support himself and his family. Why should he have come all the way to America? Is that because he wanted to see you, all the Moonies? Certainly to make sons and daughters of God. There is no other reason for Father’s coming here.

We really must realize what position we are in. We are even different from ordinary Unification Church members, in that we really stand on the pinnacle of the Unification Church in terms of intelligence. We are on the forefront. One day, we will do social work, one day we will educate political people, we will become ministers ourselves; we are on a unique training ground. After Rev. Moon to America, he gathered all these professors, scientists and scholars into one arena through the Science Conferences, to share their studies and problems and, moreover, to work together. Do you realize that?

And how many scholars and theologians Father invited to Barrytown, having them spend a few days here, sharing problems and solutions, too. What we did in Barrytown was working, and everyone who came here saw it. So, they decided to deploy the same pattern in each area. So, the professor from Atlanta went back to Atlanta and made the same workshop… All 18 famous universities are taking after the pattern of Barrytown. And to all 18 schools we have sent PhD course students to continue their schooling.

So, those professors who have visited Barrytown go back to their own school, and made the same system work they saw work here. So, Barrytown should never be outdone by them. You are the originators, and you should keep that pride here, and also a high standard. Do you understand?

Actually, the theologians’ conferences are Divine Principle workshops, because they… most basic problems, common to all. First, they thought very lightly and casually of the Moonies. ‘I hear that some Moonies are bright in certain areas’. So, they came. Soon, they knew that there is no area, hardly any area, where the Moonies are not surpassing them. Why did we do that? To show off? Certainly not. We brought them over so that they can assess the correct situation and know it correctly, and then we organized…

The opinion may be different, but thank God there is one common working logic in the scholastic world. If something doesn’t stand to reason, they have to bow down to what is logical. Power, money, background, whatever, doesn’t really make a difference. So, soon this knowledge now only enjoyed by the top class scholars will gradually descend down to the lower and lower, average people and scholars.

Ministers are somehow people of blind faith. They are told to believe in that way by their denomination, so they believe in that way and teach their congregation that way. They don’t know, they don’t know about God, they don’t even know if God exists or not. If theologians say yes, they say ‘oh, yes’, if they say no, they say ‘oh no’. It is no problem. And those are the only ones who oppose the Rev. Moon now, not the theologians.

So, centering on the departments of religion of the universities, Father will launch a large scale movement. In a mere two years, we will have PhD degree holders of our own. Our members will become

doctors. They certainly cannot be outdone by us. In the area of organizing, we are much better organizers, and we are much better at carrying things out…

[Father:] … and ideally!

Ideally, we are on a much higher level than them.

Theologians… conference… serious showdown. They all come down and make a correct assessment. Ministers and priests, you can educate them by the thousands overnight. Once they hear the Divine Principle, the ministers, priests and clergymen are forced to applaud if they have an ordinary intelligence.

Now, we have already occupied the top. Whereas soon, when we come to the middle echelon, here ministers, priests and clergymen are invited to the conferences and seminars we have, the opposition of the Christian Churches against the Unification Church should come to an end. How interesting it will be. We teach them the Divine Principle, we teach them all about Christianity and God, and then we won’t bother them, we will leave them alone. Our members will not go to the Christian Churches to give lectures, unless they ask us to. They can go back and give their own lectures, and they can have their own Christian churches prosper; how excited they will be! They will do that. Then, denominations should come to an end. There is no reason… nobody will see why denominations should be divided.

You will be the ones to teach that. Not only to teach that you will also reeducate everyone from A to Z. By the time you hold your degree, you can even influence and advice the policy making of a central government, even the biggest group. Do you follow?

And you will gather all lawyers. You will gather lawyers together. There will be international lawyers’ association where all lawyers will internationally integrate and handle more and more justly the international court processes. In each state, we will have the World Lawyers’ Association. All attorneys and conscientious, top class lawyers will be on our side, even our members. You have overheard that 61 people have met in the Bahamas, already. The lawyers are really well organized. So, we gathered the lawyers together, the clergymen, we brought the professors together in one place. Soon, we can give crucial anti-communist lectures to the police forces. Then, there will no more group to put together.

You will give them lectures in three ways. Once that is done, those who are running for a Congress seat, i.e. to be Senators and Congressmen, won’t they have to come to you and consult what is the best way to go, seeking your advice? If you really want to work effectively, if you suggest to them to go and attend a 21-Day workshop, they will never waste their time, will they or won’t they do it? You will have to educate them with all the necessary knowledge, all the Congressmen and Senators. Who will do that? You, after getting your degree and finishing school, you will be in the perfect position to do it.

You don’t have to meddle in the election problems. They will have to come and seek your advice. Without your advice, they know they can’t have an effective campaign. Without the knowledge… And if you find conscientious candidates, you will help them, you will fund-raise for them, you will convert many problem children, immoral ones into a good group and support that candidate. You will get all the Christians to come and support you, because that candidate is a good one. He will have a good lawyer behind him and he will know how to cope with the Communists. What more will he need?

YMCA and YWCA, of course Father already started it with a very appreciable response. They know that once again these YMCA and YWCA activities should prosper in this country. Then, furthermore, we will see to it that all the labor… should come under Christian, religious labors unions, not Communist. That means, no matter where you belong to, even if you are Buddhist, as long as you are an honest worker, you have to belong to a labor union sponsored by religion, a religious labor union.

…the Karate, the gym, in many, many places… The Communists oversimplify. They have a typical strategy. They will make the people come into a state of unrest. Some people come into unrest automatically, so much the better. You take advantage of it right away, and then promote the Communist cause. That is it. That is the Communist strategy. So, wherever there is a demonstration against anything, there is a Communist working behind it. If there is a thing that has nothing to do with the Communist cause, still the Communists move in and tie it up. Professors are experts.

More concretely, from now on, they will plant, stir up unrest on college campuses and in the field of labor unions. Let them unite and demonstrate against existing power. These are the typical Communist steps. It never fails, hundred percent. Simple enough.

What we are up to, now, is to gather all the sensible professors and bring them into unity. We have CARP activities. And all the support of social groups. And we create a counter-part to each of the possible Communist areas of advancement. So, we are about to make the YMCA and the YWCA one with the unions. Of course, this may be the first time you hear this, but Father has been working on it for a long time. In fact, Father started working long time ago. Since Communism has plans for advancing towards the free world, so we too must have a plan to counter it. That is all.

There are two factions in Japanese Karate. Father was a good mediator, in fact Father sponsored the

superior one. He is in position to have ultimate control over the entire Japanese Karate community. So it is in America. You may not realize it, but in America there are a few at the top of the Karate factions; already, they are all followers of Father. If Father issues a directive, they will respond just like that. They are just waiting for the time. In Korea, for a long time, all men of violence, the hoodlums and gangsters are under the influence of Father. The top ones are not really that bad, they are sensible ones, usually, and they are under Father.

Why does a religious person pay so much attention to violence? Because we have to expect the worst and make preparations against it. Soon enough, you too will be very good at martial arts, and you will have to bring your followers, new members, from one place to another place, and you have to show them, educate them. Do you understand?

You should never pay attention to what other people say to you. What you know is that you know you are right. So, it shouldn’t really bother you. But still, when other people really persecute you strongly, Father understands that you may sometimes feel run down. But don’t set your objective tomorrow. Set it two or three years from now. You suffer, but you keep on doing, building your foundation. When three years pass and your foundation shows up, that is the time they will… around you, not until then. So, don’t pay attention to what people say to you.

So, should you or should you not learn about Karate, and even build Karate gyms in various branch places? There are still things you don’t understand yet, but Father is doing them now. Some went to Red China, some went to Russia, they are not exposed, but there are many hidden members all around the world. We don’t even know each other. There are even some of our brothers and sisters, our members, in Communist prisons. Death sentences have been passed on them and they are still waiting. We can easily imagine how serious the leader, i.e. Father himself is who is leading that unique religious group in the world, namely us. Even in New York, there are a few members from satellite countries who are waiting to see Father and report to him about their own countries and get his direction. Do you follow?

Since American people are shown, advised, stimulated that this is something we must do, but since they are not doing it, this is why we, representing part of America are doing it for their sake. Do you follow? This is a decisive opportunity for the future America to live. Without us preparing the road like this and pioneering the road like this, for them the country has absolutely no chance. They will be washed away.

Of course, it means a lot of work to us. But shall we do it, not for ourselves, but for the sake of the country? [Yes!] We ought to be prepared to do everything, not just one thing. If you study, studying is a torture in itself. We dug a pond ourselves, didn’t we? Is there anyone who actually participated digging the pond here? Everybody, when you graduate, what are you going to do? Father expects you to put a dike on the Hudson River, to stop its flow. Will you do that? We can do it, even though we won’t do it, because the government will not approve it. That is the only reason why we will not do it.

How many carp fish did you catch? [Ten.]

The entire school? [700.]

700 is less than the number Father caught in one day. In one day, he caught about 800 to 900

[Father:] 2000 and more.

So you thought, ‘Father doesn’t bother us, it is good; we don’t have to catch so many carp.’ So, Father will have to put you to work. You even have to practice how to dig a trench, dig ditches.

If you show people how to dig ditches, will they call you names, or will they respect you for showing them? If a future minister such as you, goes out and repairs a car for church members or staff members, how grateful they will be. Then, will the laymen not come to your congregation all the more happily? Will they say, he is a minister, he is not supposed to do that lowly work? He repairs car, so he is a car repairman. I don’t want a car repairman as a minister. Will they say that? They will respect you all the more for it. So, we will do that.

If you have a bulldozer, we will bring the bulldozer in and dig ditches better than anybody else. We will know how to operate the bulldozers… A lawyer, for instance, has a very abstract work, but still, even such a lawyer should be able to have lots of physical skills. The leader is no one but the one who can do something slightly better than other people, and who can do one thing more than other people. Then, eventually, he will become a leader.

The fact that the Rev. Moon became a leader today is that he is able to do something that the Christian ministers cannot do. If he goes to the ocean, he becomes a good fisherman. He goes to a fighting place, he will be a good fighter. So, if Father must have a free lunch, he is the fastest one to get a free lunch. There is nothing wrong with that. When time comes, you have to eat, to continue working. When someone is in despair, you ought to be able to help him. We need such a leader.

So, Father asks you to graduate from your school with the hardest work, the highest standard. If you

graduate easily, it is less good. If you graduate the most difficult way, one day you will be a much greater leader.

Father told, even pushed David Kim to do everything he can to bother you, to go after you, to never leave you alone, from early in the morning, but he is lacking stamina [Oh! Lots of stamina!] Do you welcome that, though? [Yes!] Why? We must understand, the harder path we walk, the better a person we will become.

[Father:] Not better, good, best way! Do you know?

Does anybody have any disagreement with that? When you are leading a group, when you go to the dining room, find the worst food there is and sit down at the table and eat that worst food. So far, you have been looking around and tried to find the better food… Also, go look for the worst place to sleep and sleep there. Also, wear your underwear longer than other people. You take time enough to wash other people’s underwear, but you had no time to wash your underwear, so it smells. That smell is like a .. fragrance. That’s the truth. Strangely, God will find that stinking smell more attractive than that of underwear that is washed everyday with easy life.

So, Father’s eyes are watching who is doing most washing for the sake of others and cleaning more the common areas. Who will do that… the quickest to speak out…

… for you, the best training, the hardest training would be to close your mouth. Father would give a deliberate test, just to see how she responds, a woman. Although Father finds no fault with her, he pretends that he finds fault with her, to see how she responds. She will speak back ten times more than… If you become better than other people, then you will establish yourself as the center of that group, school, class… Don’t you think that this is one law that always works?

So, how difficult is it, to carry it out. For instance, not one time you are tardy at school. Likewise, you will never become drowsy and doze off in class, never in the entire school year. Those who often, sometimes, doze off, raise your hands. Actually, dozing off in class in not a common error; actually that can be a serious error. The man with such a spirituality certainly has a lot to improve in himself.

Father’s age is much higher than yours, but still Father is determined not to be outdone by you. Mother always insists that Father is to take naps, so Father is fleeing Mother, escaping from her, not to fall asleep. Mother doesn’t really understand Father’s philosophy, possibly. Now it is daytime, but in the Orient, it is nighttime, and when it is nighttime in America, may be everybody is going to sleep, but it is daytime in the Orient, and many people are praying to Father, so how can he go to sleep?

When there is the loud voice of prayer and the loud sound of snoring, how could you do that. So, Father has a rigid standard: if you go to bed one hour early, then you wake up one hour early. Our Mother has a hard time to catch up with Father’s tempo. Father pushes himself so much, is it good or is it bad? Sometimes Mother is going to sleep… thinking that Father will go to sleep also…

[The tape barely audible..]

…Then, she wakes up in the middle of the night, may be going to the bathroom, and she finds Father sleeping in a chair. Father feels more comfortable that way than lying down in bed to sleep. If you keep that kind of an attitude, Heaven will really like you.

When rain falls, Father prays for the fundraising teams. Even though many brand new members have never seen Father, still spiritually they feel so drawn that they want to see him and live with him. Spiritually, Father’s image comes and teaches them, tells them, shows them… Isn’t that strange? A bystander will never understand the life of a Unification Church member. Only those who are in it can understand the beauty of it.

So, in pursuing your studies, would you like to do it in an easy way, or in a difficult way? Would you walk your path laughing, or crying because it is so difficult to catch up? Which is easier, then, to laugh or to cry? [To cry.] So, you must know that the one who is able to laugh when you cannot help but cry, that one will dominate the one who is crying. Do you understand?

Father has been fighting this kind of a war all throughout his life. Father decided that he would choose the most difficult way that any religious person has ever tread. Father pushes himself and delivers a speech every week and never wants to shy away from it. And all the time Father spoke to people, every time Father spoke about what people needed to hear… You, too, know that delivering a sermon is a very difficult thing. On top of that, Father has fishing to do, speeches to write, all kinds of things. Many things in addition to the sermons.

Actually, to be an effective leader of a group of person, you have to be better than them, no matter how slightly, otherwise they will stop following you. An ordinary religious leader would never buy a

motorcycle for his own son. It is extremely hazardous. Sometimes you can break your bones, fracture your skull. Those are the common things that happen. But at a certain moment you are demanded to make a harder decision than becoming adventurous and taking chances on a motorcycle. Every so often you have to make such a decision. So, when you train yourself that way, you are not lost when a difficult time comes.

Now, years ago, the Barrytown staff thought, ‘Father’s son, when everybody is working hard, he is riding a motorcycle and making a lot of noise.’ Some people apparently thought that way. But today, you saw, as a result of that real motorcycle riding, what he achieved himself. Without concentration of the spirit he can’t do that. May be, one more step he has to go through is going on an African safari and go to the North Pole, go bear hunting and lion hunting. May be, that is the last thing he will do to complete his training. At least, Father is thinking that way. Do you think that is a bad thing?

When we are ready to die, we should know how to die well. That is necessary. So, if there is only one way open for us to lead a group to the dispensation, that one way may be the last way, but we should not exclude that last way, we should really include it. So, there is no way that we will exclude. Any way people are willing to follow through we have to know thoroughly, so that we can lead people through that way. This is the motto we must have in our education.

So, he learned how to play guitar rather well, and he plays the flute rather well, and he rides the motorcycle so well; he does everything very well. Soon, if somebody gives him a trumpet, he will master it over a matter of years. Doing everything better than anybody else is very necessary to become a leader. Do you follow that now?

We never know what is going to happen to us; the next moment, the next year or the next decade, we don’t know. So, constantly we have to prepare ourselves. Father would very much like to even tell us to plan doing good things in the most .. way, then end up in jail. Because it works this way: when you did nothing wrong, but many people think you did wrong and they send you to jail. Later, when you come out of jail, everyone who sent you to jail must bow down to you when you return.

So, everyone who sent Father to prison in Korea should one day bow down to him, because of the fact that they sent him to prison. America is that way. Father is really trying to work for the sake of America, but they persecuted him. Later, when they learn about it, they all will have to bow down to Father.

Those who are in hell cannot protest against God, because Rev. Moon has been teaching them, do this and do that, do that for your own sake and the sake of others, but they didn’t do it and ended up in hell. How can they blame God?

Father feels that a woman with refined manners, easy manners, doesn’t show her tremendous suffering. She has a lot to achieve yet, to become herself in such a way that she really has suffered. Because the one with a pretty face, or a frail face, wants to use her mouth so much, rather than her limbs. She doesn’t want to do hard work. She wants to get by, by easy words. But the ones who close their mouth and use their limbs to the maximum are the ones who succeed in life. Do you follow?

One of the most difficult things for learned people is to be silent, in spite of their knowledge. The one who knows, actually, but pretends not to know is doing the most difficult thing. Isn’t that true that, when you know the truth, and people don’t know it and speak out, you have an urge to silence them. You pretend that you haven’t heard a word of it, but when you are asked what you think of that, for the first time then, you come up and express your opinion. That is the only time you speak out, when asked to speak.

The common mistakes, errors and shortcomings of learned people is that they are never able to stop speaking successfully. You must know who will control the eloquent people: it is the silent people. And who dominates the daytime? It is the night. Do you follow? The night is dominated by the day and the day is dominated by the night. They are just different, so they dominate, and neither one will have complaints. Such is…

If those persons who don’t know Rev. Moon look at him and… the idea will never occur to them that he is the leader, the Reverend Moon himself. Everyone thinks that he is eating a nice suits with expensive rings, a nice hairdo and expensive glasses; they all think that Rev. Moon would be dressed like that.

Father saw people complain. They say that Rev. Moon is coming to Boston and Gloucester, but where is he, he never shows up. Well, he has been there for over a month. There is no way of telling that it is him. Because the way he works, the way he puts on his clothes, the way he looks above all, nobody thinks that it is Rev. Moon. And that is good, that is very precious, and necessary as well.

So, the difficult path is like this.

Lawyer, what is your name? [John.] Father rather sympathizes with you. You are built in such a way that

when you have something in your chest, you cannot help or resist the urge to speak it out. So, you really have to try hard. There are many things Father didn’t point out or say, but the way of your eye area is so narrow; that means that your reserve is so small that everything you have in here you feel easy by bringing that out, but don’t. Still, if you really train and discipline yourself, then you will be respected. Make it your aim of life that no matter how long people will live around you, still their comment will be, ‘the more I live close together with him, the less I understand about him.’

Father is that way. All throughout his life, persons have spent a majority of their days and years together with Father, yet they don’t understand Father so much. Such a person will speak about something Father said thirty years ago, yet he understand it for the first time. The average American people, if you live close together with them daily, in about a week they will have told all their secrets. To store one’s secret, even the secret of the enemy, if you keep it within, not telling it openly, it is a very precious thing.

Then, at the time of the grandsons and granddaughters, you can have a short talk and help him… being right. So, we should have a deep pocket in our personality, our character. The deeper the better, and we have to look forward to that depth… every time

If you share your room with your roommate and if you make the bed twice as often as he does, he will bow down on you… Isn’t that true, here in America also? In Korea at least it is. In this way, it is the same thing. This is true regardless of the time. Do you understand?

So, if there are more people like us, Moonies in this country, so much the less chance that America will perish. So, if you think that the Hudson River is too big a river, don’t ever think that way. You have to think, this is like a brook. Wait until you go to the Atlantic Ocean and try to catch natural fish in the vast ocean. Compared to the vast ocean, the Hudson River is only like a small river.

Think that in what you are doing, the result will not show tomorrow, but it will steadily accumulate in three or four years. You will be certain that every result will show at that time. You store it, like you store money in the bank. Think, while you are on the campus, to become the good friend of a certain tree. You choose that tree, which tree should be my best friend, for future memory.

So, every memory that you have you register it to that particular tree, and it will keep reminding you, once you leave the school and come back, it will keep telling you, over and over again. If you like the carp in the pond, bring left-overs from your food, feed them and make friends with them and try to talk with them… it will be a precious memory in the future. You follow that? And then you go to the horse and clean the horse manure. It is not a special person’s thing to do that. You have to train yourself to like to handle horse manure. And don’t do it with a shovel, do it with your hands. That manure will like you all the more for it, because ordinary people will shovel it, but you do it with your bare hands. How much closer that manure will feel towards you. And your hands will never suffer, because all you have to do is wash them, and they will be as clean as ever.

So, we learn how to live life. Father, instead of choosing the cleanest water to bathe in, will go to the dirtiest water to swim in it. That, Father feels, is better than choosing the cleanest water. Actually, Father feels it is better than bathing in the cleanest water. The posture of spirit, the way we think, the way we maintain our attitude is that different. Father likes McDonalds sandwiches very well. McDonalds is one of the cheapest fast-foods you can get, and it is convenient. It has all the sophistication. It tastes good, it is fast, and it is cheap.

Many people think that absolutely, Rev. Moon will not go to McDonalds, but as far as Rev. Moon is concerned, absolutely he goes to the McDonalds all the time.

By doing that… long enough, Father has one truth now. By the time Father has… many times McDonalds over and over again, Father came up with a… better sandwich than McDonalds. So… do away with… better than McDonalds… DeliSun {A church restaurant in New York},is right in front of the McDonalds, everywhere… didn’t like McDonalds…

Father didn’t like fishermen too… Sometimes, Father sees a lady, a well-dressed lady, pass by a fish store which smells. She ties to hide her nose in her handkerchief. Then, Father has the urge to put a rotten fish into her purse. All she has to do is just to tolerate and hold her breath for a few seconds, but she didn’t learn this, so she conspicuously does this. If the fisherman saw her, would he love her for it? What about the fish salesman? What about the fish eaters? That is the way Father looks at it. It may seem simple, but that is the way we are going to look at things now. All right?

The lesson is this: wherever we go, we have to adapt ourselves perfectly. Purely from deep down in our hearts, not just make-believe or to show off.

We all go to the bathroom, don’t we? That is one of the daily things we do, and we visit many different places, don’t we? So, we go to many different bathrooms. Out of many distinct memories, for instance memories of bathrooms, Father can never forget one bathroom. Every time Father thinks about it, Father keeps smiling at it, because it is such a memory. One time Father went to a far island, way at the tip of the Korean peninsula, and there the bathroom is an open bathroom, just like a tree house. You climb on top of it and you do it there. Then, people keep hogs down there. The hogs eat the droppings. So, when you have a bowel movement, the hogs are looking up, aha! waiting for the dropping to come down. They never miss it. So, you look down on them, and whenever you move your body and drop it, the hog catches it. And when you move into this direction, the pig follows you.
