… to deploy the Unification Church and its members world-wide from now on. He feel just like a student having an examination tomorrow. Father has been feeling that for quite some time. This is not the first time; he has been getting more and more an intense feeling. Do you like to get examinations? It is a burden. It is really something nobody would like. But, when you come to think of it and review his whole life, he has achieved so many things, and he knows it. But there is still some part in the bottom of his mind that says no, you have not … Father really wished that he could have had the maturity he has now thirty years ago, when Father was in his thirties. It would be fantastic, something Father can really do?

When you reach the age of Father, you will notice that even the power of your memory starts decreasing. And to see things, distant and near, you need to wear glasses, whereas you never had to wear glasses. So you have to look for glasses. In running also, your mind feels just as young and you are dashing out, but you feel strange … Father thought that it was important for you to pause and stop to think, now that you are may thirty or a few years ahead of thirty, that the twenty years of your life from now on will be the most important to determine your career. So it is imperative that you stop to think what your life twenty years from now is going to be. Otherwise, if some people don’t take head of it and take it as it comes, then twenty years really go by very quickly.

If you plan twenty years of your future, then probably you will think that you have to accomplish very much. That means, you will have to work a lot harder than anybody else in the twenty years to come. So far, you have been studying and thinking, more or less, it has been a planning or preparation stage for your future career. But that time is already passing very quickly. Now … you are practicing … and you have to act as you planned. So far, if anything, your life has been a passive one. Something acts upon me, something challenges me, we think about it and we go along with it - it has been a passive life. But that time is gone, now we find ourselves in the transition to an active life. …

Professors will leave you, or you will leave the professors, and friends will leave you, and more and more you will find yourselves cornered, narrowed to your own path of life, and constantly that demands that you check on your results.

The fishing memories and going overnight mending nets, these things of course will be gone and remain as only a memory, and more so from now on. Eventually, the serious mind will come to realize that now I am alone, more so than before … From now on, to complete the transition into acting, you have to have your own self, be your own master and have your own subjectivity.

You will have to do a lot of things, think about them and carry them out. You will have to provide your own tools, if you need some kind of assistance; you will have to help yourselves, not depending on an outer source. This is a very important point, because this is the division between working for somebody or working for yourselves. And definitely, what we must do, what is good, is that you are your own master. ‘I must do that!’ - this sense of sovereignty, of subjectivity is a must. So far, it was OK if you didn’t have it. There is a basic rule to this, as Father knows: we have to think more than other people, do more than anybody else. There is no other way for you. The easy way is always there. The result is also what we see and what is commonly accepted. It has really nothing to do with success; it is remote from success. The easy way is there, but it is not for success.

For instance, if you go out fund-raising, you know what everybody else does. You already know that, and you don’t have to learn it. When you want to, you can carry that out immediately. But, what he have to think about is, are we going to do it in such a way that nobody ever does, nobody ever thinks about? We have to think about this and cultivate that way, before we can amount to anything compared to other people. In witnessing it is the same thing … there is such a thing as common way witnessing, and that is good and you can do that all the time. But if you think of doing it more efficiently, certainly there is a way. That is for us to cultivate.

In accomplishing all this, nobody will help you; you will be on your own. There is no such thing as a friend in need. How are we going to do, then? We have to make friends with nature. We must have the attitude that I as a subject will receive all nature as an object. Think ‘I will get up earlier than the sun and receive the greeting of the sun.’ In the evening, feel think ‘I am going to send the sun off politely, nicely.’ The sun, from the time of its rising in the morning to the time of its setting in the evening doesn’t seem to move, but very minute it has been moving ad doing its own work. It has been shining over all nature, animals and plants, giving light and giving all sorts of life. The sun has been working like that. It is really a great work when you start to think about it. It does not boast, it does not feel disappointed because nobody pays it a compliment; it just does what it is supposed to do, and does it so perfectly. Even the clouds [cover it] once in a while, and people all forget, they are not conscious of the sun’s existence all the time. But when eventually the clouds clear away, the sun shines again. It can be one of the best friends we can ever have.

Looking at the moon, sometimes it appears to be big and sometimes it appears small. It goes through cycles of development. Likewise, man’s religious attitude is the same. Sometimes man’s faith becomes very big, sometimes it gets small, but it get bigger and bigger. When Father sees the crescent moon, the moon that appears just like a very thin thread, he really feel a deep attraction to that and he has hope in that. It is getting bigger and bigger, not smaller and smaller but bigger and bigger every day. And when it rises up early, then he finds that from that time on the moon gets smaller and smaller. And, strangely enough, Father finds hope when it is getting bigger, and when it is getting smaller he also finds hope there. When it is getting big, Father feels, ’ that one wants to grow, it is not satisfied being a small one, it wants to get bigger and bigger. It is very hopeful.’ When it gets small, it does that because it knows it is the only way: the faster it becomes smaller, the faster it will become bigger. So, as a step to get bigger, it gets smaller; so it is very much full of hope.

So, nature can really be in its deepest sense a friend to you, because your course and nature’s course are so resembling. It is like the birds in the morning. Compete on who is getting up earlier, the birds or me. These days Father is quite amazed to find out that in America there are lots of birds who crow in the night. Through this way you get such a dynamic message from the world of the spirit. It conveys a lot to you. Likewise, in listening to the birds’ singing we get a lot of different messages.

They are friends, really friends. Always feel confident and try to live up to your own self’s standard, i.e. ‘I am qualified to become your friend and I will not betray you or do anything bad for you. I will remain as a faithful friend.’ This is very good, because once you are accustomed to feel this way, nature will become so close to you. If you practice this for many months and years, then, while riding on an automobile you see all the nature, and wherever you go nature welcomes you and rejoices with you. Sometimes it goes into a burst of joy and you feel that, and this is quite real.

It is like the birds, the insects, they know and they show by some signs that it is going to rain. When you know a certain species of birds singing quite well, it tells you if and when it is going to rain, so you can really appreciate the whole movement of nature through these messages of singing. You watch next time;

when it is raining, all of the sudden the birds start coming out and start singing. Then you know that very soon the sun is going to come back. It is quite a joyful, bright singing. Then, you feel strange, why are they singing this way? Very soon, the clouds clear away and the sun reappears. Birds know that first. Likewise, when a storm is approaching from a distance, the tone of the birds’ singing becomes different. They sing in a sort of sad way. Then, soon enough the storm comes.

So, since you are going to find yourselves all by yourselves, don’t live by yourselves. You have to make friends and nature can be your friend. Whenever you become good friends with nature and you become closer and closer, into deeper contact with nature, you don’t feel burdened by getting in touch with that. But it is different with the human world. When you get in touch with another human being, the sometimes … almost always you have to assume a burden. It is going to act upon you and give you a burden. So, Father has constantly been saying that he likes nature so much. It is purer, so pure, it is quite real.

The bigger your sense of subjectivess is, the bigger your acting … you are going to leave something behind, you are better than other people around you. This way, you will be more successful than other people. It is good, on the occasion of your graduation, to determine yourselves that all throughout your life you are going to do this. Small or big, you have some destination, some purpose. Say, ‘I am going to accomplish this;’ it must be something you can be proud of, never ashamed of, either in front of other humans, nature or your surroundings. If it is a thing that will take you ten years, you will have to do that very consistently. You would do that as if it where overnight. You have to be able to go on a ten year’s project, as if it took only one day. It is a very important thing to determine.

Unless we do this and do it fast, there is nothing that will remain, no matter how many years we live. If we make up or mind now and set it upon a certain goal which we pledge to ourselves, to nature and to Heaven, even at the cost of our lives we have to accomplish that. If it takes ten years, we will do that. If it takes twenty years, we will do it. By the end of that time, something will remain. The more difficult it is, the more worthy it is, the greater it is. The longer it takes, the greater it is. What determined greatness and less greatness, subject to the comments of the people of the future? It is how difficult it was.

In a university, there is such a thing as a major field. We also have to specialize ourselves in the realm of heart. What am I going to do, which other people don’t, and even if they do it, it is quite unique enough and good enough. Walking a hundred miles starts step by step. To walk ten steps, you go step by step. Step by step is very important. Many people make up their mind, but when it becomes difficult, only a few people carry it out, may be one percent, may be ten percent.

As you may have guessed, as a graduate of a theological school, your specialty will be becoming a spiritual leader to other people. It is never easy, it is more difficult than anything else. When we were leading common, mediocre lives, we did not know for sure, and sometimes we did not care, whether there was a hell and Heaven. But once we become serious, we find ourselves right in the middle of Heaven this way and hell that way, and all the combined possibilities, and all people surrounding us. Many times we find ourselves right in the middle; it is not exactly daytime, because the sun is not bright, but it is not nighttime either, because there is still light. What do we call that, then? If there is an invisible boundary, one side is Heaven and the other side is hell. What is then this invisible borderline? We never know. We never know exactly what is the dividing line, but the further we go to the side of goodness, the more and more surely we feel that we are eon the goodness’ side. Likewise, usually, we can’t tell …

Who decides if an individual is on the heavenly side or on the evil side? It is not evil itself, it is not goodness itself which decide that. Eventually, since you are going sometimes this way, and sometimes that way, back and forth, while doing that you develop a sense of comparison. You feel … if you do this long enough. Then, that is the only person who knows for sure what is good and what is bad and has a real feeling about goodness and evil. That man who knows for certain, because he tried it out and he experienced what it is like being on the good side or being on the bad side, knows that once he steps to the evil side, even one step, he has already provided a condition for evil.

So it is important and worthwhile to get this comparison and never even set one step on the evil side. Only one who knows that can stay away from evil. Otherwise, if he has stayed there long enough, he no longer knows if it is the bad side or the good side. He won’t be able to tell. When you are experienced enough, your sense of the spirit becomes very keen, you know exactly where you are, and what it is going to be like if you continue that way. It is like magnet of your mind, where the northern side would be the heavenly side and the southern side the opposite side. Our mind should always direct towards the North, like a magnet does. Father is quite sure now, from his experience, that unless one is in a definitely refined tuning of experience, he will never understand exactly where he is or what is the bad side and the good side. So, there is a precise borderline, it is only that it is difficult to determine where it is.

This is so on the individual level, and on the family level, there is a good side and a bad side of life, and it is the same on the national level. As the level becomes higher and higher, it gives you a clear demarcation line. And in determining this serious matter, we can never ever accomplish through consulting with another man. Therefore, nature is the only source of friendliness and guidance. Another example of

making friends with nature is the corn or the wheat growing higher and higher. We can compare this exactly with our spiritual mind growing which is growing just like that. We are so proud of it and want to make sure that our spirit grows just like the plants and the grain, not becoming small and never growing anymore.

Likewise, when you go to a special area and work, you pick out a small plant or a small tree and say, ‘maybe I am as small as you are, in my spirit, but let’s compare who grows faster.’ The tree grow and our mind will grow. We must make sure that our spirituality grows faster. When our work becomes very successful in that area, we know we have outdone trees. Once we stop growing, the consumption is rather heavy and we never can grow any bigger. Then, we have to retire. These things you can feel only through nature.

Never, ever depend on or trust another man for your own development. The more you come into contact with other men, the more there is a possibility for your to be hurt more. Contact with nature, you can be sure, will never hurt you. But your business is contacting people. So, how can we avoid it? It is our business. As a result we can expect a lot of damage and a feeling of being hurt. How can I ever untangle that, recuperate from that? Father, for a long time, all of his life, has … Many times you think you can trust people, but they end up betraying you. Many times they make promises, but many times they also don’t keep them. Not only that, many times people will try to get something out of you.

Now, you have already experienced thee things, but when you own subjectivity, these things will come to you more acutely. Human being sometimes go up and down and sideways, and never develop, always moving around but at the same time staying around; but nature, while having ups and downs, always grows towards its objective. Constantly checking oneself by seeing the phenomena of nature is a great thing also, e.g. when seeing a flower blooming on a tree, think ‘Oh, it is the season now; when is my flower going to bloom?’

When you see the sparrows making their nest, they are really quite busy doing it, and you think ‘when I am I going to start making my nest?’ All the swallows eat lots of food and then give it up to feed the young ones. You can compare that exactly to yourselves; everything is a lesson. It is a living textbook you can learn a great deal from. Just make sure: since the birds and animals are leading such a consistent life, being very faithful to each season, every year growing higher and higher, I will be likewise, not to be left behind, I will be just as good or even better than you animals are.

Once a man makes a noble determination, some test is absolutely bound to come. That is a formula. In that way we can be stimulated and reassure ourselves and grow bigger and bigger. Without that, there would be a complete lack of stimulation. So, now you are going to contact many people and now that you are determined to entangle these with nature, you might as well tell yourselves that we are bound to be betrayed by many people we trust.

Next time you confront this situation, don’t ever be surprised. Feel, ‘Oh, this is it!’ I expected this to happen; take it as a matter of fact, and it shouldn’t hurt you. Regard this kind of incident in the sense that that person just passed by my life to stimulate me, to reassure me that I am on the right path, and that I have to try even harder to make up for that betrayal. Just accept it as a routine fact. Do you understand? You can never continue more than three or four days if you trust a person and he betrays you and then you conclude that you cannot trust people anymore; of course, you cannot do that. So, accept it as a common place that people will betray you. Always you must find some sufficient reason to continue and to believe, you might even say an excuse; ‘I am better than you, you cannot tolerate a betrayal, but I can.’ taking that as a lesson, ‘I will not hurt Heaven as he hurt me.’ We can always use such an occasion to some advantage.

If you have a feeling of revenge towards somebody, remind yourselves that you don’t even have time for revenge. We have to do our work first, and then think about revenging and forgiving. Naturally, once you attain success, even if many people encourage you to take revenge of someone, you will not feel like it. There are only a few days left … what am I going to do in my career? We have to make one determination in ourselves. No matter how many people will act adversely upon me, I will … work in a better way, with greater intensity. In this case, if there happens to be an enemy of yours and he is doing quite well, you have to whip yourself to work harder and be better than your own enemy.

One thing is sure: you will be too busy to think of anything which does not help you attain your goal. Imagine what Father must have felt when he started his three times seven years course. Father has clearly had three steps in the things he had to do, and Father was quite serious, because what if he had died without making it - it would have been quite a serious matter. So, he was quite serious.

Father never felt ‘I will divide it into seven part, this year I will do this, that year I will do that.’ He did not think that way. He stepped to the borderline of the seven years in five years, even though, then he would have nothing to do, just waiting two years for that time to pass… He had to get there an wait for that time, because, what if he could not get there in seven years? So, where it took seven years, Father did not try to

do it in seven years flat; rather we wanted to do it in five years and then leave two years in reserve. Even if he had nothing to do but waiting there, Father would rather have chosen this way. The third seven years course is the same. …

… so Father pledged, … how am I going to do? Father has talked about that many times. Never in a dream Father is hoping that somebody will come by and do it for him. Father never depended on you to do the work for Father. Father always felt that he would do his work himself. When you people appeared and did things for Father, he considered that you do it so that you can be helped. Things Father has predicted came true almost perfectly, centering on this April of the lunar calendar, which is about now. That was the peak of the worst time, like the Frazer Committee, when Frazer thought that he caught us and pinned us down. He thought we did something wrong and he had proof enough. He let the former K-CIA chief Kim testify against us, the Koreans, the entire thing. He thought that by doing so, he would have an unchallengeable truth. But Kim testified contrary to the expectations. He said that the unification Church and Rev. Moon had nothing to do with the K-CIA. Everybody, including Frazer himself, was surprised, because they didn’t think of it that way.

Now, a huge wheel is turning. So far, it has been an adverse way, no it is clearing, not by the human mind, but as a natural development. They proved themselves that we were not wrong. So, since a large wheel is moving, Father feels that it is quite necessary to give a little push and add up momentum to go faster in a normal way. Now is the time. Starting July first, Father is prepared to pour on a … barrage to the world. He is going to shoot a lot of big guns.

But then, why did Father … not do anything, why does he start doing it now? That is where Father is different from anybody else: Father knows the time. This is the perfect time to do that. So far, it was not the time to do that. So, this morning, Father gave all the instructions for these things, the steps to take, what to say and how to say it, who to say it. So, when his time comes, his time to be subjective comes, the rest of things shouldn’t matter, even his life shouldn’t matter. If it is a worthwhile goal, he should pour everything into reaching that goal. If people would argue, saying ‘I don’t do this now, I will do that in the night,’ it is not likely that a person who doesn’t do it in the day would do it during the night. So, stop arguing and do it in the daytime, while time is available.

As for you, twenty years from now one will be your daytime. Consider that you yourselves, just like Father, even with a smaller intensity, still you have to have a twenty-one year course. Again, in a comparative way, Father started his twenty-one year course at the age of forty. Now, everyone here can start their twenty-one year course at the age of twenty-five and thirty. How much of an advantage you are in! You have a prototype, you have history, reference, everything. The only remaining thing is your own realization and determination. If your wife flees from you, it shouldn’t really matter. If the entire government tried to come against you and to bury you, it certainly wouldn’t matter. What matters is, if you are going to pursue your goal, just as you started to in the beginning. We have to feel that this is the only thing that matters.

So, we have to be more subjective than before. … Father feels that something he made, he will pursue by his own self, and he will not depend on anybody’s help. Not even advice is necessary. Father feels, ‘I already made up my mind.’ Even before eating, Father advances one step ahead, and then he eats. Like for all things. He will be one step closer to the goal, and then do things … Whatever criteria you establish is fine, but establish a standard: ‘in six years, I will be like that’; have the concept and pursue towards that goal. Pursue it at any cost. Six months fund-raising, fine. A short-range vision, fine. Establish that. There are two ways of going on the same path. One is going there by being dragged out, and one is going on one’s own. And definitely, we have to go on our own, because that is the only way. Being dragged out is the easy way: you don’t want to do it, you make a face, you make a lot of excuses, and when you run out of it you do it, going slow; that can actually damage you…

We ought to be a little different from the persons who did not study theology. We have to be able to sustain the comparison. If you set an example, other people can get quite excited to take up theology, because of the example you showed them. Father honestly feels that you should find yourselves in a position of complaining. In other words, if you go out somewhere and you have not so much to eat, then you compare, thinking ‘when I was in the theological school, at least I had a lot to eat, and I have a little more to spare, so that I could eat in the night. Here, I cannot even make one complete meal. You should find yourselves in the position to complain, only that you shouldn’t complain.

Whatever you do, you must have a clear objective and get closer to it step by step, rather than being just dragged out, complaining. Also, concerning the doctorate course. You find yourselves thinking, ‘I first thought that I was going to a doctorate course… finishing this course, but you find yourselves the other way. If your disappointment is big, you have to supplement that with more work. The more intense your hardship is, the better because the period you have to go through that will be shortened. In other words, you don’t want to spread things out, but rather intensify your hard work and suffering and get it over with.

Spiritually, this is very, very true. Father will notify all of your followers to submit their opinion about you to Father, i.e. what they think about their new leader.

Father tried to nurture you here for two years. What if you become a doctor? What if you make ten doctorates? Certainly, that almost doesn’t mean anything. Not only not much, but nothing. What is a doctorate degree for? To do a great work, man must be qualified. Certainly, it is not a doctorate course. We should not be crushed… Father was even put in a communist prison and the communists tried to control him, but he was never controlled; rather Father walked on his path at his own pace. When he was allowed to work eight hours, he finished the job in five to six hours. Wherever Father went, everyone tagged along with him, because they knew that their work would become easier if they worked with Father.

So, the prison officials a letter of commendation. Father … thought within himself, ‘I don’t need a letter of commendation, I don’t do that for … When he came out of prison, he destroyed all the letters of commendation. Father thought within himself, why am I going to be … Father though, ‘I’ll do what they demand, so that they won’t comment on me [?]. The only time when Father slept much was while he was in prison. That is the only time when he slept more than any other time. Even so, he didn’t sleep much. His fellow prisoners never saw Father sleep, because Father was always awake when they were asleep.

Even during that time, spirit world worked for him. Witnessing was done, as many people came to Father and talked to Father about the fact that spirit world showed them about him. Because of this basic principle Father just explained to you, because of that attitude, Father achieved so much in the most difficult of all difficult human activities. In order to become the head of the Unification Church, Father has established himself in such a way that now, all the people of the world can look up to him as having laid the minimum foundation.

No matter how small your ambition or the goal you set for yourself may be - a five year plan, or even a goal that takes ten years, once you set it, you have to attain it. Once you attain it, your sense of victory will boost you up on a higher level, and you will develop higher and higher. On this course, where all the adversity comes to you, when all the persecution comes, that should actually work for you, rather than against you. Just imagine Father’s position, when this whole country went against him, without due reason. They persecuted him and said all kinds of things; the State Department, the Congress and all the newspaper came together against him, unjustly. At the height of it they tried to finish him by saying that he was an agent of the Korean CIA; now, the whole thing has been reversed in the testimonies, and everybody who tried to hurt him now cannot be allowed, because …

So, Father has been receiving, in some parts … they really witnessed all of these things … Sometimes they thought they were actually doing too much for him. And these are the Senators and the Congressmen. Now, a few Congressmen start saying, ‘we went through the whole thing, we saw the whole thing Rev. Moon had to go through. All the newspapers attacked him. They knew what it is like to be attacked like that. They made their own investigation and they knew that Rev. Moon is clear, but they also knew that everybody was attacking him. So, they just waited and watched it, and they knew how difficult it was for him. When everything put together went against Father, everyone knew how painful and difficult it was. Now, they say Rev. Moon has really been a hero in putting up with all of this. Some of them say, ‘if I would have had to go through that, I would have killed myself - and he did not!’ This is the way Father hears them make comments from behind.

Not only people in the Congress, but also people from all walks of life. Many people so far knew that Father was not wrong. But then the newspapers and everybody said he was wrong, so they had to hush up. Now that they [Father’s opponents] turned out to be wrong, this side is raising against them, saying ‘I told you, I knew he was not wrong!’ The Washington Post is on the better side, and the New York Times is on the bad side. So, now they are conflicting in their interpretation of Rev. Moon.

Father did not slow down his pace because of that persecution. Father was busier working his way than the persecution, so he actually couldn’t pay attention to them. Now, father feels confident that no matter whom he sees, the congressmen or all the national level leadership of this country, the students, even the members, Father doesn’t feel ashamed of what he did in front of anyone he sees. It is true that what Father is trying to do is to influence America in the shortest period of time and in a more intense way. That is what he did. So, if he hears that all … can be allowed to Father, saying ‘we owe you a great deal, now we understand you, now we hail you,’ then Father no longer wants to stay here. He then will be too busy going to Europe and to Russia. Father feels that way.

Father already established this goal and nothing will move that. What do you think, do you think that Father came a long way now? Is Father still low in your mind, or has he gone up in the standard of your mind and passed over that stage? Where is Father, under the American mind, equal to the American mind, or has he passed the level of the American mind? [Passed!] Father feels that, too. Father talked ahead of them, Father carried out ahead of them, and father trained ahead of them. Because of that factor, you have changed. Otherwise, you could not have changed. Father does not depend on the results that you bring in.

Rather, will leave everything up to you. Father did not do thing expecting anything. Whether Father’s work is approved or not accepted, whatever, … the only reason Father does it is because he has to do it, because it is a goal that he has set.

Now, the attack, through words, on the hostile world will require over one million dollars. This entire million dollars will have to be spent in fifteen day. In July, Father is planning to spend $3.5 Million. Altogether, $4.5 Million will have to be spent. Where does this money come from? Father is thinking of making it up himself.

In this country, the Rockefeller Foundation has very much money, but Father never plans to depend on them. Rather, he will make it with his own hands. This is a country capable of helping the whole world, but Father will never depend on it. Father even had his own money spent to help that kind of people. It is a really incredible situation. As Father said this morning, roses are one item that students themselves can cultivate in the years to come, and CARP also the same thing; Father has that in mind, a few things like that … we will grow them here gradually, so that some time we will be completely self-supporting economically.

Father thought this should work well, because when you go out to work, you had to raise your own funds for your activities. How can you do that? While in school, you will learn how to raise roses. When you go out, you can then use that skill. If you do that for somebody else, that somebody will long remember you … Roses happen to be a common, but very popular item. You find lots of wild roses in the mountains. You just have to cut and graft them, and so you can make more beautiful roses. If you learn how to raise them - a big stem and five small stems and you graft them … with all different roses on them, when you do plenty of that and give them to hundred different houses, that hundred different houses can be reached in bringing the message … Then, they will boast that ‘this was made by a Unification Church leader.’

So, when Father went to …, the land which is in Pennsylvania, where there is a very big rose garden, Father thought that two … of roses, roses are a basic plant… And Father will show you how to grow them. So, when you are determined to start even a small project to support yourself, and if you are really determined to do that, Father expects that this can be a success; it is not that difficult, once you make up your mind strongly and carry it out, your plan will come to realization - and one more of your problems will be solved. As Father has just suggested to you, Father has always made plans and carried them out, regardless of what. Father started out … thirty, until that time is preparation time. Until the age of forty- five is the age of actually carrying it out. And from that time on until sixty is the time of harvest, the time of fulfillment. … .

Now we can stop to compare; Father did these things under adverse circumstances and under persecution. If they had not persecuted him and if they had let him do whatever he had planned, how much he would have achieved! Imagine how much he has achieved. All things can be liquidated before the age of sixty, even after that, how much work has been done. In other words, if Father had not started what he did from the age of forty, but from the age of thirty, how much would have been achieved. If Father had done all that starting at the age of thirty, do you think that Father would have done it in a more intense way, or in a less intense way? Of course, in a much more intense way, because of the age.

So, Father made a big proposition [statement]; if Father had been able to start at the age of thirty, things

would have progressed much faster. But, as it was, now communism sprung up and the free world has come into decline and the world situation has become what it is, as everyone can witness now. So, it is up to you very much … You have to feel what Heaven and Father expect of us, in a deeply confident way. If you start at your age what Father started at the age of forty, you will be so much at an advantage, and your success will be almost guaranteed, if you really feel to realize it.

You have to make a determination that with your own hands you are going to undertake all these inevitable historical tasks. Do you understand? This is how Father feels. If he could go right back to the age of thirty and start doing it, how much faster, in how much shorter of a time, and with how much more intensity Father could influence the world. You are at that age. Do you understand? As a conclusion, or as a summary, [you must feel] ‘without me it cannot be done, only I can do that.’ The only way to achieve that is not paying any attention to how the environment reacts to you, but always being determined to do according to the goal you have set for yourselves. Think more about other people and actually do more than other people, in accordance with your own subjectivity. The bigger your ambition and the bigger your goal and the more intensely you work and the shorter the period of time, once you achieve that, the speed will be much higher and you will be much more efficient.

Again, don’t ever be afraid or hurt by the betrayal of other people, because there is bound to be plenty of that. Accept it as a matter of course. Every day, we will work with more intensity and invest more prayer to achieve this goal. The first time might be difficult, but once you make it a pattern of your life, it should become a lot easier, and more dynamic.

So not so much hope to establish your work through men … [unintelligible]. No question how untrustworthy the world is. If you get a deep, secret confession from three people, or if you hear the story of ten people concerning their own experience and status in the world, then you will know that this world is not trustworthy. You will know that it is not worthy of being given hope, it is a completely hopeless world, as we know. That is what you hope for, that is what your goal is, your own taste is; your own hobby is to be in your goal - always push to the goal, regardless. Make friends with nature, and it will give you peace. Father goes through all the trials and difficulties of the world and he draw the lesson from that, too. If you pay too much attention to that, it will never help you achieving your goal. The goals comes first, it is that important.

Father has given you many suggestions and unofficial directions in the last few months and in the last two years. This happens to be the last one before your graduation, so keep it in your mind and in the next two or three day set your own goal. Never think this is to sort a period, because you always thought about it. Make it now, and once you make up your mind give full steam ahead to reach that goal. Do you understand?

When graduation day comes, Father cannot deliver this kind of message to you in his address, because [laughter]. Father will have to deliver such a speech as appropriate for the men and women [in the audience]. Father has prepared a seven minute speech. In seven minutes, what can Father accomplish? That should be the one most important, condensed advice that you can ever have. Ten years or five year from now on, look back, think at the time when you made your goal. Then, you’ll know that, because that determination you made, you will have achieved what you did. Not doing that, you’ll …

There is one more comment to add here for the women. They have to think about this only after they normalize their life with their husbands. Don’t say, ‘I don’t need a husband, I’ll go the same way the men go,’ not that. Maintain a regular relationship with your husband to be. Then, make a plan accordingly. Internally, if anything, women should actually work harder, to achieve more than men, because woman follows according to man’s result. So, to make the men successful, the women sometimes have to work harder… That means, if man starts worrying about woman too much, that man can never get ahead so much, it is too much … The woman, if anything, should help him. First man is to achieve his own goal; once it is attained, both are to enjoy that result. Do you understand? So far, the typical virtue of women wasn’t this way. So, we better straighten that out, no matter how difficult it is, it is truthful, let’s straighten it out to the normal way of thinking. This is one more advice Father gave to the women, in addition to what applied to all of you. Do you understand, especially women?

In the future, Father really doesn’t want to see men helping in the kitchen, washing and bringing the dishes and household material. At that time, he should rather go out to the garden and exercise his muscle power, getting more work done, rather than carrying trays into the kitchen. Actually that is more efficient. You can help her better that way, rather than… You can help her washing dishes, but what it amounts to is being a dish-washer. You don’t want to use a perfectly capable husband as a dish-washer. Let him work out in the garden and do more worthwhile work, … it will be better. Let Father ask you a very candid question. Would all the women still like their husbands to help them in a conventional way? [Laughter].

In other words, all the men, don’t go into the kitchen and wait for the food to be prepared and brought

over to you. Rather, do all the work you have to do until you are called by your wife, that dinner is ready. And if you are too busy working and you are five or ten minutes late, that is all right. That is what Father calls the ideal way, because that way you can accomplish more. And it will become like that, because people will see which is better. Men can really find a lot of work to do rather than dish-washing and helping cooking in the kitchen. Father did not find much attraction to the way American house-wives behave in the household. So, Father would like to find for a change some attractiveness in the American women. Perhaps, he can expect this from the Unification Church members. To display attractiveness. Do you think you can do that? [Laughter]. You probably will have to. Because, if you don’t the chances are rather remote that you get blessed. Because Father knows that you won’t be happy in the long run. So, how can he give the Blessing if he knows that you cannot be so happy?

You are rather famous, too. So, you have to re-evaluate your own way of life and consider in a cool way what Father has just told you. Rather than marrying a husband you like, don’t you think it is worthwhile to marry a husband you don’t care for and then try to match your mind in a perfect way, trying to maintain a perfect harmony with it, don’t you feel that as a challenge for your entire life, one that can change the whole trend of the future generations to follow in a creative way? What do you think? [Laughter].

Father is asking you seriously that, once you set your goal, you follow it for several years and achieve it at any cost. Then, you will have something remaining. Would you do that?
