Editor’s Note This text is an edited version of an extemporaneous interpretation of the Reverend Sun Myu ng Moon’s speech. It is the result of transcription of the translator’s words, taken from an audio tape. This translation has not been checked against Reverend Moon’s original Korean. Therefore this text can in no way serve as an exact or completely reliable representation of Reverend Moon’s message. The editors have attempted to convey Reverend Moon’s basic spirit and content but for legal or publicity-related usage the original Korean must be consulted.

Correction as to location The speech, Central Figure of Victory, is incorrectly labeled as being given at Barrytown; it was delivered at Belvedere. Primary sources demonstrate both in writing and in photos that it was given in Belvedere. The primary sources are Bobby Wilson’s journal and New Hope News for December 1, 1975. Bobby Wilson was the manager of Belvedere Estate at the time of the speech. The Korean group who translated the speech was mistaken about the location.
