Sun Myung Moon Speaks to Unification Theological Seminary Students - 1994

(I took these notes in English by directly translating the words of father at the very moment that speech was given, rather than by transcribing the words of the translator, and later made further corrections by referring to the notes taken by another brother in Korean. So, this should be quite accurate and comprehensive.)

When I first founded this school, I came here every day. I founded it for the purpose of saving America, but I worry whether or not it has reached that state yet. Twenty years ago, I never thought that the future of America would be this serious and miserable. You all probably know that this nation cannot be saved by the power of men. The only way is to revive Christianity, but in the conventional way or tradition, it cannot be done. Young people today have been contaminated by communism, the pursuit for physical and material pleasures, and secular humanism, and they are heading toward physical destruction. For this reason, we must not try to bring the solution with the human power. Or with man and money alone. You will hit a dead end if you boast the power of human beings; it does not last in history. This principle applies also to money. You cannot save thr. world with just man’s power, money or with the attitude that you can solve all problems with gold. People are going the opposite way; they do not live for the cause of nation or dignity of the nation, but their own selfish cause and glory. Although it has been twenty years since the founding of UTS, the graduates are far from being prepared to save the nation. The fundamental mission of theology is how to employ absolute faith to generate the power that can transcend the power of individual men, and use it for the sake of saving nation. More than the individual, you must think about the nation and the whole. You have to be trained spiritually to go in the opposite direction as the secular world, which asserts that the way of money is the supreme way and advocates secular humanism. When I see the graduates of UTS, I am greatly disheartened to see them become secularized. The graduates of UTS also have an arrogant attitude that they are part of the elite and educated group. You must become exemplary, and you must pioneer and overcome the difficulties in Li.e front-lines. If you think that because you are college graduates you do not have to do this kind of dirty work, then you are making grave mistakes. The Unification Church (UC) should have gone down below the ground, but on the contrary, it has tried to rise upward. They are to go back down and ‘:urn the whole thing upside down, but instead, they went to the top. Many of them deviated because they thought that the UC way is not in line with their own path. They thuught that they can save this nation in a glorious manner, but the path that opened before them was just the opposite. I have ushered in a great transition on the world level during the time that I have spent in America, proclaiming True Parents and the Comp Testament Age. You must know that the night has passed and the new morning has dawned upon us. Although UC

has been persecutecl, such history of tribulation has passed behind us. I have ordered the Japanese movement to send good first class students, but they sent third and forth rate students here. The leaders do not send their top leaders. Since it is the seminary of the UC, it must prepare for the future of UC, but they did not do this. The students did not make any necessary preparation here, and they failed to accumulate the ammunition and energy, whic~ having been pressurized, can explode upon graduation and propel them forward in their providential mission; all they did was just study. After the graduation, you are to prepare for the mission of pioneering churches. The mistake they made is to have the conventional mentality of the outside world, which led them to focus on their family. When you graduate, you might not want to pioneer because you are too proud of being a graduate of the seminary. In order to revive Christianity, th.ere must be those who sacrifice. There must be people who are different from the people of the past in quality and quantity. The reason that I come here after one year and four months is because I do not have much hop(; for this place. Many of those before me here will fade away. Many of the UTS graduates have been ruining this nation and the UC. There is not one professor here who is truly united with me and my vision for this place. They have not tried to establish a solid foundation in ideology to save the nation and the world. In the future, for UTS to have a fresh beginning, there must be a revival in life of faith initiated by the students, and there must take place a new restructuring to create a better spiritual and study atmosphere. There must be help from the spirit world. If you do not have the support of the spirit world like at the time of God’s creation, you will not be able to do anything. Spiritual power does not come through words, but through practice. Those who pray a lot and exert themselves tremendously appear differently to me. In order to enter that realm, you must pray like a crazy person and do things like a crazy person. I am training thousands of Japanese members now. In the three day period, I completely transform these Japanese women. I have finished educating 80,000 women leaders so far. At one time, I had as many as five thousand people receiving training together. Some have never heard Divine Principle, but they were receptive, and they were completely transformed in three days. In order to perform this kind of works, you cannot lead an ordinary life. The atmosphere of the spirit world and of the earth must be snatched in a tight fist and be properly balanced. This is the only way; knowledge cannot do this. During that time, even when I was sleeping at night, I was speaking Japanese in my dream. I have grabbed onto the atmosphere even when I was asleep. If you do not do that, there is no way that life can be resurrected. Life cannot be resurrected with knowledge. If you do not link with the power of life that stand on the level higher than the that at the present, new life cannot be given. When Father was standing before the crowd of Japanese trainees, he could not see the end of the cro~ d because it is too numerous, so I moved up and down the isles like this. Half of them are new people; non-members. All kinds of people come there. When I pass by them, they do not look at me straight, because previously they have opposed me. After three days, they look at me straight attentively. Just like how father is doing, when you give life to people, you will feel the same type of enormous excitement and joy that

you can never feel and experience otherwise. When you go to spirit world, this is the only things that will become your asset. Money, prestige, and power will only make your life in the spirit world more miserable. Since you have been through the seminary, you should focus on collecting the true assets of the spiritual world. Those who graduate from here and still betray God, father, and the church are the worst. You should never use UTS as a stepping stone for your success. I have founded this institution for the sake of saving America and reviving Christianity. In the last days, Christianity will become secularized because they cannot become connected to the pinnacle and form an intimate relationship with GJd, so if you want to prevent this from happening to you, you must mobilize the spiritual power and become absolutely impeccable in your theories and beliefs, and experience. You have to fill in all the blank spots. God has an opinion toward how America is doing. Our view must never be different from God·s view. When the present situation of America deviates from the will of God, then it will decline. But, what you plan to do after you graduate from here must be absolutely the same as what I and God want; yet do these two visions match? What do you think? Should you adjust your view to God’s, or should God adjust His view to fit yours? Are you doing this? Have you become the absolute object of True Parents and God? You have not been. The path that I am taking is not perfect or most ideal; God’s expectation is even higher than this. Because I have to deal with this world in the midway position, I must make compromises in regards to the path that I take, and go the round about ways. So, who is going to pay indemnity for the resulting gap and discrepancy? It is I and the members of my direct lineage. (We must pay the indemnity.) So, if you cannot even reach my standard, then your future will be completely buried. Do not think that your being here is a blessing. This may become a fearful condition of great indemnity before God. I do not think that you have met my expectations; I do not think that you are prepared enough to go out and become the leaders of this movement. Nations fall because their young generation fail. Society and nation must become the extensions of family. There is always a center in a family, a society, or a nation. The parents in the family must become the center and the rest must become objects. They must become united. Communism and Satan try to reverse this order to destroy it. Dispensation of restoration is dispensation of restoration through indemnity, which is dispensation of recreation. How does it then take place? God first creates an environment, and then establishes order of subject and object in it. This is the formula. So, why are there men and women? It is because of this set of principles of creation. Everything is in pairs. This is the actual situation of the existing world. Even in UTS, there must be subject and object relationship. There must be a subject - object action that multiplies from one point to span over a much greater area. You must head tow ud the highest. This is the reason that men want to become the top, and the top is God. From the top one seed is sown, and the seed grows and eventually returns by becoming a tree. This is the way that harvest is reaped. People want to grow and expand centering on oneself, and then through the growing up process, our scope becomes greater in ever expanding circles, and eventually we become connected to the

world. Is this the way it is? What are you to do when you grow up? You are to expand the perfected found’:ltion. Then, God is to become the big plus, and you are to become the big minus. Mei1 want to become the greatest king, and women want to become the greatest queen. By doing so, you will become united with God. The fundamental point is that the universe exists for the sake of love. God also exists for the sake of love. Do you think God want$ money, power, or knowledge? He already has them all. Then what does God want? does God really need love? God also feels lonely. He is in a lonely position. How do you think it is like for me? When I am alone, am I lonely? The same is true for God: He must be feeling lonely. He also needs to find objects of love. Who are the objects of G0d? It should have been Adam and Eve. Perfected Adam and Eve are the objected of God. Do you think this is true? Then do you think God possesses love, life, lineage, ideal, joy, etc.? All of these exist on the basis of reciprocal relationship; they cannot exist in one being. You cannot see love. It can only be felt. Do you have love? Feeling comes from the relationship between subject and object. You can call this philosophy of relationship. Relationships between people, parents-children, political relationships, economic relationship. etc. The goal of our life is how to cultivate our relationships and harmonize them with the universal relationships. If you think that you are great, that you are the best, then you cannot form relationship with someone greater than you. You must therefore become humble. Water seeps into the earth, and at times it can even shoot up to the sky. This is the reason that it can be seen as the source of life. It can penetrate into the cells in the body. As soon as there is any tiny room or crack, it makes its ways into it. Water does not have form, but there is not one form that it does not take on. ~Aren’t you 3/4 water? You are a water bag. But, you do not have your individuality. You are full of arrogance. You do not like to be insulted. Because of the form that you have created, you cannot freely fit into things. Do you understand? Air is the same. Does air enter earth? Does it have a form? How about you? Everyone has a shape, and that is the problem. If you have a shape, then you cannot connect to the source of life. Because they (water and air) do not have form, it can go anywhere, and form life. It can protect by covering it all around, and it can even nurture it. Do you understand? You must become like water. You must be able to penetrate into anywhere, into any crack and room. Does nature welcome water or reject it? They welcome it because it helps them grow and develop. Arrogant people are the most miserable people. Suppose you are shaped like a star with many sharp points. How can you adjust yourself to fit into different situations? Thus, they talk about the Holy Spirit as being like water, wind, and oil. They are the source of life. Thw what about love? It has the same characteristics. Hence, love can become life. Does anything impede love? Everything welcomes it. Then how is God like? God’s mind can enter any place. God’s mind can connect with any place in the universe. Do you want to resemble God? Is your mind like God? Do you want to enter my mind? How about the minds of the prisoners in prison? Even for a criminal sentenced to death, God will grieve over his death more than his own father and mother. Do you understand? have you ever thought about how it would be if the

entire universe enters and exits your mind? If all of the hundred odd people here come into your mind, then how would it be? You have to be at least like that to qualify as the child of God. I planned to stop you for a short moment. So, God also needs objects. Men are the objects of God. If God breathes in, then man is supposed to breath out. This is how mind and body behave. There is such circular motion. So, think about how it m¥5t have been when God lost His objects. He does not have anyone to share His love with; it was like being in a vacuum, completely unable to breath air. God will follow you around, because you are His breathing partner. This is the way that you can control God. This is not just empty words, but this is reality. That is why you must experience it. “Che-hul” (a Korean word that means to experience, to feel, and to understand through intuition) is like how when a twin brother is sick, the other one feels the same pain. This is the relationship that you must have with God. This is the only way that you can know the direction and the needs of His dispensation. When you are in that realm, you will cry aloud. In such state, you will be able to know the future and events that lie before you. This is like how a mother sometimes senses the danger that her child is facing. This is che-hul. If there is no such experience in your life of fai~ then you cannot connect to the spiritual life. This is the only way to engraft to the new life. This is a very serious problem. You have become worthless ones who know nothing else but eating. In a few days, it will be the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the church. It was very hard, and I had to adjust it to fit the schedule and program of heaven. I have proclaimed True Parents and the Completed Testament Age and the Safe Settlement. All is done. To what standard have I reached? Adam’s family failed within one family and Jesus failed on the national level, but the Lord of the Second Advent succeeded on the world level. In my lifetime, I have dealt with all major leaders of the world and steered them. They now understand that opposing me will bring negative consequence to them. Do you think I have laid this foundation only through words? I had to mobilize the entire spirit world and the physical world. This applies to you, as you try to unite your mind and body. How to combine your physical and the spiritual is your homework. You must restore your original nature. You must turn it around 180 degrees. To what extent are you going to become the partner of God? You must continue for eternity the process of investing and forgetting about it. If you invest yourself and then forget, then there will be a vacuum. So, from higher pressure zone, air will rush toward the lower pressure zone. Then, the incredible rush will generate great force. True love requires repeating at least three times the process of investing and forgetting completely. Invest life and repeat it more than three times. For a straight line to exist, there must first be two points. But there is no variety and changes in the straight line. At the time of the creation, God first drew a straight line, but He then drew a circle that encircled the line. You cannot divide the relationships between parent and child, among couples, and among brothers and sisters. The number three is absolutely necessary. The three things must be connected. Number three brings unity. Horizontal, vertical and the thi.td axis (that form three dimentionality). When you are born, you must

become the child of someone, spouse of someone, and brother/ sister of someone, and parents of someone. Adam and Eve were a brother and a sister, and they were to become couples, and finally parents. You cannot neglect any one of the four steps (the fourth being God). This .is the ideal model. It will fit everywhere. Have you created such families? Hell has been created. Satan built this hell. In order to possess True Love, you must put your life at stake for the sake of a person three times, and overcome this life- threatening situation. Have you ever thought about offering your life to someone? You must have this kind of determination if you want to save this nation. When I first came to this nation, I foresaw that I will go to prison. I was determined to save America even if it entailed going to prison. I have now proclaimed True Parents and the Completed Testament Age, and everyone welcomed it. Normally, this would have taken two, three years, but we have done it much faster. I made enormous amount of preparation for this cause. Things did not happen accidentally; I made them happen. This is the truth. This was the only way to save America. I have already opened the door to America’s survival. Think about the opposition and persecution that I have received. America can resurrect if the three thousand colleges and high schools can be united centering on True Parents. Because we have risen to the perfection stage, Satan cannot touch us. You must be responsible for the three thousand college campus tours. How many are you willing to cover? You should at least do three times the number that True children have done. Among them, the one who did the most spoke in 22 campuses. Seminary members are to take responsibility for the tours. WFWP and CARP will coordinate the tours, and True children will do 1 every fifty campuses. Mother and children must cooperate. YFWP (Youth Federation For World Peace) is being formed right now for this purpose. We are to cope with the situation centering on God. All is done. UN (politic world, Cain, and Satan’s side), federation of religions (religious world, Abel, God’s side), and WFWP (women’s world) - in this way, Eve, Cain and Abel must tum around 180 degrees. Centering on mother, Cain and Abel must become one and follow mother. UN and WFWP must become united representing mind and body, and since mother was divided, there must be a mother type organization and a youth organization, so when these three realms become one, they will be able to save the world. We need an organization like UN that is internal. Subject and object are created, but they have not become one. The accomplishment of peace of the world is simple; all it takes is the unity between mind and body. Religious world promotes practices that negate the flesh; fasting, sacrificing, etc. You don’t like chw ch activity. But your body is occupied by Satan. You stand in the mid way position between God and Satan. You must cross over to God’s side and never look behind. When there is unity between mind and body, that will create balance. If you do not maintain the right angle, then Satan will infiltrate. The power of the flesh is stronger than the power of the mind and spirit. Believe in God and you can do anything. You must clearly understand the mind.

You must have the confidence. Mind and body must then be united. Then, couples must become one, and then the children must become one. This is the way to bring about the world peace. Are you going to doze off or stay awake and alert? How are you going to remain awake? You must see yourself as the representative of the 5 billion people, and including all the people that ever lived in history. You cannot possess True Love unless you represent the entire heaven and earth. Perfecting love requires man; God cannot do it by Himself. You mqst always see yourself as the representative and the center of the universe. You are to become one with God; you are to marry with God. In order for God to become perfect and in order for His love to become perfect, man is absolutely needed. This is a revolutionary statement. You are always a representative and the center. True Love will bear fruit only under such circumstance. When you go to the spirit world after having achieved this, you will find that everyone is brother and sister. Everyone is a prince or princess. This is a privilege. God is the father. Because of the fall, we have lost the mind-set that we are the representative and the center. If you invest yourself and then forget, heaven will certainly be created in your environment. Strike individualistic America. Why did God create the object of love? When He was alone, He could not feel (love). Do I have love? But why is it that I cannot feel it? It is because we have become completely one. If you become one, you will become zero. You will be zero, but you will also be eternal . If you become one, you won’t be aware of each other’s presence. You do not know how many times your eyes blink. This is also because you are one. You must make it 100 % zero. You cannot draw your own face because it is one with you. You should not be able to recognize the face of your beloved husband or wife. It should be that every time you look at him/ her, you feel unexplainable joy. Love is truly great. True love is to be consummated in the highest and the most central position. When a husband enters the bedroom of his wife, he should enter the room as a king would enter the room of a queen. It is eternal. Husband, wife, and children whose minds and bodies have become one are the beginning of the heaven on earth and in heaven, and they are the beginning of everything. The love on the first night after the wedding ceremony is the palace of true lineage, life, and love. It is the beginning point of true happiness. How precious is true love!

Father’s speech Unification Theological Seminary, 5-10-94

How many days has it been since I came here last time? Look at the calligraphy in the back of the room - what does it say? (dedicated service, patience, sacrifice) The swnmer vacation is nearing. You are going to return to your hometown, right? What are you going to do? How many are going to graduate this year? (Only 35) Those who are graduating, stand up. You must have spent two to three years here, but do you think that your time here was worthwhile and necessary? In what sense was it necessary? (Relationships) What kind of relationships? In the two or three years you spent here, did . your spiritual life improve? (higher) Do you all agree? But why is it that when you graduate here, majority of them avoid spiritual works? After you graduate, are you going to be engaged in spiritual activities, or are you going to enter the secular world and just J work to support your family? (We will go out to the front line.) Do all of you agree that you will go to the front line? (yes) From the moment you leave this place, you must erase from your mind that you have graduated from a graduate school. Many people were ruined because after they graduated from here, they became arrogance and had a sense of being a member of the elite. I do not like that at all. How many graduates have been produced here? (eight hundred) Only eight hundred? If all of the eight hundred UTS graduates went out following Father’s directions and united as one to work for God, then America would have been saved. Do you think that the modem theologians believe in the existence of the spiritual world? Did you study the modem theology or the Unificationist theology? If you studied modem theology, then you must be confused also. Modem theology is needed as a reference, but for the realm of the spirit and mind. it is useless. That should not be our goal, and we should have our own ideology. When you go to the spirit world, you will find that all of the theologians are now in hell. Paul himself is having a difficult time there. The true Christian spirit is completely different from the spirit of Paul. You must understand that the modem theology is very distant from God. So, all the churches and religious groups that are founded upon these theologies will fade away. If you examine closely into the lives of the theologians, then you will find that they are trash. Unification theology was created to revolutionize theology. All the foundations of modem theology will be destroyed in the end. Then why did I tolerate you to study them for twenty years? I have tried to have you take an ecumenical and comprehensive approach toward studying theology, not just of Christianity, but also of all the other world religions including Buddhism, Islam and so forth. Therefore, the professors here must fully master the Unification theology and the Divine Principle, so that they can synthesize all the theologies and teach them to the students and the outside professors. They were supposed to create one system of theology through the discussion of all of those theologies, and this was supposed to lead the mainstream theologies of the world. The history has passed through the three stages, OT, NT, CT. In the OT, God taught them about the nature and the significance of being the chosen people. Even Jewish themselves do not understand the true meaning of being chosen people. What does this mean to you? The blood lineage of the chosen people has been transformed.

Mankind has received ~e Satanic lineage through the fall, but the chosen people can become a part of new hneage of God. When Eve fell , she deceived the eldest son and Father. The begi~ing of history was deception and lie, deceiving the eldest son and God. Then what did she do’. S?e bec~me one with the archangel, and they became false parents. The problem thus hes m the lmeage. In this sense, how was God able to bless such pe?ple as Tam~r? Su~h questions have baffled the minds of the theologians. It is restoration through mdemruty. In the OT, indemnity was paid based on the nature of the crime its~lf. ~y is that_in the J~wish tradition, you can only become a chosen people if you are circumcised? It 1s sheddmg the blood of man. What is the significance? Because it was that thing that ruined the world, so the Satanic blood has to be let out from it. When the Jewish people make a pledge, they place their hands on the hip bones, and what this signifies is that they have misused this part of the body to commit the sin. If the fall did not take place, then how would it have been? God is our internal ancestor and Adam is our external ancestor. Then, why did God create the universe and human’ beings? Did God need money, knowledge or power? These are things that He can obtain whenever He wants. What He needed was love. What kind of love? True love. What is true love? How does the new pledge begin? The result of the fall was the emergence of three types of divisions, between mind and body, between the couple, and between parents and children. This is how human history begun, so in the last days, the time of harvest, everything will be divided. This is the reason that families are divided in America. Are there true parents in American families? Any genuine husband and wives or brothers and sisters? American families are in a mess right now. Why is that? Because of the initial cause, this kind of inevitable result came about. Adam and Eve fell naked. Then, they hid behind the trees. They were teenagers. So, in the last days, all the young people of the world will also be ruined. This is the harvest time, and the same situation will repeat itself. The reason is that the fall took place when Adam and Even were teenagers, so teenagers are the problem. Who is going to control the teenagers? America’s power, the presidents, the seminaries in America? Who is going to do it? There is none other but the Unification Church. Because we understand the root, so we can see what kind of fruit will be born. If the fall had not taken place, then what would God have become? He would have been the vertical parents centering on true love. But before that vertical relationship, there must first be the horizontal relationship. When we look at our selves, our minds are vertically oriented and our bodies are horizontally oriented. Throughout the human history, they did not understand clearly what conscience is. What is your conscience? Your horizontal self. What is your body? Your horizontal self? How can these two be united? Why are they crossing in ninety degree? Because true love travels through the shortest path. Ninety degree is the shortest path. When we connect two points a line is drawn. When God first thought about the creation of the world, he thought of a line. But a line does not have harmony. It can never return or meet again. Does love take place in a line or in a circle? The beauty of love can only take place in a circle. This is the reason why when lovers meet they are happy and when the part from each other they are sad. In order for the ends of the line to meet, it must form a circle. It must center its motion in the center. When God drew a

line, he could not see harmony, so he envisaged a circle. When you express something big, you draw a circle with your arms, right? But on a circle, it is only two dimensional. The sphere requires one more axis. Then it becomes like a globe. The universe is composed of spheres. The vertical concept, horizontal concept, and front-back concept form a sphere. Including the center, there are seven places where the axis meet the circle, the number of victory, and the circumference makes eighth component; the number eight represents a new beginning. This is where they meet. If you divide them through the center like a watermelon, then there will come about 12 pieces that are identically the same in size and fully interchangeable. The place where all of these twelve pieces can come together and fit together is the center, and this is where God is. When we refer to the upper half of the sphere, it is God, and the lower half is Adam and Eve. The upper hemisphere is the invisible mind and the lower hemisphere is visible body, or sung sang and hyung sang, respectably. This is why you can see Adam and Eve but not God. Then how can mind and body become one? The upper and the lower section must become completely joined. The right hemisphere is man, and the left hemisphere is woman, and in each of them, upper quarter-sphere is mind, and lower quarter section is body. In each of us, we can find parents. What is brothers and sisters? It is the front and back section of the sphere. In each of them there are invisible section and visible section. Any man must become a son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, husband and wife of someone. Children, couple, parents are the three modes of man’s life. When you look at Adam and Eve, they are the children of God who are supposed to grow up and become the couples and parents. So Adam’s family is where aJl this came from. But then where did it come from? It came from God. God also had to grow up like an infant, like children, then create Adam and Eve, then become parents, and so forth. Invisible God appeared as the visible God. When we talk about the 4 different realms of Adam and Eve we are really talking about one person, because all of them originate from God. This is the meaning of origin, division, and union. That origin is invisible God, and it divided into visible God, Adam and Eve, and it come together in union. To do what? To love. God needs the object of love. Do you also need the object of love? This is because God needs object of God. Then who is God? He is the invisible origin, and Adam and Eve are visible origin. God is the invisible origin of the entire universe, and Adam and Eve are the visible origin. What is the purpose? It is to fulfill love. The reason that God came into being is also because of love, and he created because of love. If there was no fall, then God was supposed to come inside Adam and Eve and dwell there; then they would have understood everything and gain all the knowledge. Who are the perfect Adam and Eve? They are visible God. Man needs object of love, right? Is there anyone who wants that object to be inferior? How much more superior than you? How much better than you? For ever, for ever, for ever, for ever. So, mankind also have unlimited desire toward the objects of love, so where did this come from? When you trace your lineage all the way back, it is God that you will reach. So it is God who gave this kind of desire. If you tell God, “God you gave me all of my characteristics,” then God will reply, “Of course, I did.” Do you think that God wants the objects of his love to be many many times better than him or be inferior to him? It is true that God wants them to be much much better.

So, when God created man, did He want man to become better than him? Then is that superior to being monkey? Did monkey develop into mankind? Do you think God w~ll say to monkey, “you are my partner of love who are much better than me.”? Do you thmk there are any male monkey who want the female monkey to be better than it? you are not a monkey - so how do you know? You must understand that this kind of mentality is man’s unique privilege for being the absolute object of God and the center of the universe. Did God want true love or false love? Then what is true love? It is entering the position of the object of love whom God can praise, and who God wishes would become better than Him. Are you human beings or monkeys? Are you original human beings or the worst human beings after the fall? What about you professors? Fallen lineage means bad guy, the worst guy. But you were originally in the position where you can ask God to come to you and be the subject of love. Even if you were to call God with your pinky finger, God would have come seeking for you. How fantastic is the value of man? If God invests 100% He will only beget 100% from the object. But because he wants many millions of times more return from the object, He invests that great amount and forgets about it completely. As soon as God says, I have finished (investing), then all will come to an abrupt halt. For God, the investment is infinite and eternal. Without having this concept of investment, we cannot expect the object of God to become better than him. For you women here, please raise your hands. Do women here want to just receive love or also want to give love? Which one is it? Does the concept of relationship involve just receiving? There must be a reciprocal relationship of give and take. When you receive a lot of love from man, then you must stack them up in the storage well. Because of this storage, when the time of crisis comes, you should be able to die in the place of your husband. When such situation arise for the children, you should die in their place. You should be willing to sacrifice yourself for the sake of love. This is the kind of woman who deserves to receive love from her husband. She receives love from her husband for the sake of her husband and children. Is there any woman here who has received love with that kind of mentality? Women are thieves of love. Isn’t this true? It is like Eve in the garden of Eden who stole love. Love takes place in the reciprocal relationship between two people. If man wants to put on a smile, should woman maintain a rigid countenance? Women are like the flower, so they should be soft and delicate. Although trees do not shake in wind, flowers do. The face of women must be the garden of flowers . So, just like how flowers move flexibly and softly, your face should move like that. There is no one who wants to accept a American woman as a wife, as long as she remains arrogant. What use would they have then? When they have money, they put it in their pocket first, and enjoy themselves. Women take the salary of husband and uses most of it for herself buying good clothes and food, and give very little allowance to the husband. There is no man who wants to take that kind of women as wife. The same thing holds true for man. They are like beggars, looking for an opportunity: “Oh, that is Eve. Is she thinking about me?” Man is the representative of God. Why? Men have the seed for the children. Do women have these

seeds? No matter how proud they are of themselves, women must never look down on men. The body of a woman is shaped for the purpose of having a baby. Some women do not want to marry but still want to have children. You must understand how great the value of man is. You must understand that to create this one object of love here (pointing to a member of the audience), God had to invest his life and forget many times. You must thus understand this tremendous value of each man. You must also do the same; you must invest and forget, invest and forget, and repeat this endlessly; this is where true love begins. This is the tradition that originates from God. So, you must also follow the tradition. When you obtain a spouse, you must understand what great value lies in him or her. You must be able to give your life billions of times to him/her. This is how much investment God has made in your spouse. Have you ever practiced this? Have you ever invested your life and then forget and then repeat it again? Have you or have you not? If you have not, then it is zero. What kind of person would enter heaven? In order to enter you must have led this kind of life, investing life and forgetting and repeating it countless times. Are you confident that you can enter the kingdom of God? How many times have you died for the sake of your wife? What would you do if she slaps your face? What if she does it millions of times? (Ted Forbath: good smell comes from her hand) We in this seminary are talking about this kind of life, and the people in the outside world are engaged in wanton indulgence in free sex. This is the life style of dogs that eat dung. Do you have dogs in America that eat dung? I am not joking. When you marry, tl1Jough your marriage you are to become perfect mai, ai.d women, the absolute object of God. Even when we realize how many countless times God has invested his life and soul in us, how much are we willing to give to Him? Do you want to all pass the test? Are there any wives or husbands in America who are willing to give their life for the sake of the other? They divorce even before a week is over. Are they humans? Even for pigs, when the female pigs bear children, the males wait until the females recover fully from delivery. Is it honor to be a citizen of America? Or is it a shame? It is being below the level of animals. Even horses recognize cousins and do not have sexual intercourse with each other. In America, brothers defile sisters, grandfathers defile grandchildren, and this list of incest is endless. Do you think that they can enter heaven? Man’s organ must be cut off, and woman’s must be blocked off. They are not human beings. Do you understand? Where does heaven begin? It begins at the first consummation of love after the marriage. Where the two come together is where freedom, life, happiness and lineage begin. This is where kingdom of heaven begins. True love is very simple. But because this point of unity has been shattered, happiness is also destroyed. Man must cling to the woman’s organ for eternity, and woman must do the same for man’s organ. Marriage is opening the gate. This is the highest place, where one is connected to God. (Father draws a upward pointing cone intersected by horizontal circles that designate different levels.) When Adam and Eve first make love, they would have become completely one with God. Adam and Eve should have united with God and with each other at the top of the cone and create a family that multiply out to the cosmic scope, going down to the expanding circular planes down the cone. God’s love is not to be

found in the larger sections down the cone, but at the very top where Adam and Eve is. Each of these family, community, nation and the world levels is divided into two representatives, man and woman. If you look at the cone from the top, Adam and Eve the center of the world, cosmos, etc., and they are the partners of God. They are the representative and the center. God is the representative of the universe and true love. Your marriage is the same as that of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve is the formula model. You must each represent all the men in the world and all the women in the world of the past, present and the future, and the come together in true love. For antenna, the higher the better it is. This is what marriage is all about. When you consummate in the true love of marriage, then you can descend down to the earth. They are to meet at the top and then come down to settle down and form a family, becoming the center. All men want to become kings and all women want to become queens, so this is what that is all about. You are to become one with God. Satan has divided everything and everyone and made them completely isolated. As a man and a representatiYe, you should have the mind-set that the entire universe should follow you. If you, as the representative of God, have failed to become the center of the universe, you must then at least go to your village and proclaim that you are the representative and then tell them to listen to you. If they laugh at you, you should carry out your action in silence and lead an exemplary life for one year. When I came to America, I told America to entrust all the young people in me. I would have educated them. People laughed at me. “What, that kind of man? A Korean?” They spit at me. If they had believed in me and followed me 20 years ago how would the world be now? What use is there of these prestigious seminaries like Harvard and Princeton? Those who study theology do not go to church. They lose their faith and stay away from a life of faith. A luxury life in this physical world is not a guarantee for a good life in the Spirit world. I am an enemy of America in some ways. I have devoted my life for 20 years, not because I love American people, but really for the sake of Christianity. Look at the seminaries that are supposed to lead Christianity. We have to create a revolution. Where is God? Is God inside the minister’s home or the church? They have become the place for Aids and free sex. We are to destroy them all. All are fated to doom. When you go to churches, you do not find young people, but just old people who are standing in front of the cemetery waiting to die. Why is it that we have young people in our movement? It is because we have life. How many times are you going to offer your life? Try even one time. After you graduate from seminary, I try to send you to all the tough places, but all of you just run away. Are you confident that you can offer your life? This is the reason why it is written in the Bible that those who want to die will live and those who want to live will die. This is the way that you can become the partner of God. How many times was God ready to give his life for humanity, so if you tell him that you want to offer your life once more, then he will bow down before you and save you. Have I given up my life, and have I done a mediocre job in doing so? Will you follow Rev. Moon? Yes! (To one sister: “ You have a lot of greed in you.”) Are you going to go to a place where there is dancing and drinking and merrymaking, or are you going to go to a place where there is suffering and death? The former is where Satan is. You must go the opposite way as the Satanic world. I sent out

orders this morning to missionary countries that they should do away with the headquarters structure. I told them to forget the first generation. I told them to use the second generation, the young people. There will be A class CARP leaders and B class CARP leaders. I got rid of the main leaders. Since they are out there in the hometown, they must be able to deal with all levels of ages. Teenagers. We must teach them clearly about God, true love and the spirit world. In the Sun Moon University, I told them to officially teach DP, Unification Thought, and VOC. In the Completed Testament, we have to witness to the unmarried second generations, and give blessing to them and guide them to the Kingdom of Heaven. We have no use for those who are engaged in the free sex, and so forth. They will end up in the dung heap, the trash can. We don’t need them. This is the reason that we need young high school kids who are pure. You should go back to your own high school and make sure that the teachers are doing the right job. As CARP leaders you have to make sure the principals give the proper education to their young people. That is why I has been preparing the Youth Federation for World Peace. I am going to have an inauguration of the Youth Federation in Beijing, gathering Gorbachev and the former leaders of the nations. In Washington, my foundation is the most fearful and powerful. I need that kind of foundation. Did I do all this alone or did someone help me? (Single-handedly) So, do you want to do the same work as I, leaving this kind of great foundation? You have to constantly work and run like a mad person for twenty years at the minimum to build this kind of world wide foundation, not thinking about anything else, but totally being obsessed about it. Yesterday, I consecutively caught several fish that range from 32 inches to 40 inches. Those who have confidence as a fisherman, please raise your hands. What is your record catch of striped bass? 20 inches is under the limit. I am here in UTS to speak to you right now, but wherever I go, I can adjust to the situation and become the best; when I go to the country side, I can be the best farmer, and if I go fishing I am the best fisherman . In a mine I am the best mine worker. Have you professors thought about this? You are like easygoing hooligans. You don’t take things seriously. You should be able to do anything and everything. How old am I? I am 75 . And when you round it off, I am 80 yr. old. Is there any young man or woman who is like a 80 year old man? Father came here and I am talking to you, taking you away from class time. So does anyone want me to go back? Why is it that after so many years the world is still opposing and persecuting me? I was able to make it through this period of 40 years because I knew precisely what will happen at the end of it. I put mother in the front-line, and had her proclaim True Parentship before the leaders of the world. There are only one true parents; there is no other in the past, present or in the future . Does America need True Parents or not? Every part of America needs me. How much in awe would the young people who join the movement hundred years later behold the name of True Parents. In your hearts, do you really have true parents? Are you going to be shameful before them? Do you really live with God in you? Do you really feel that God and True Parents really possess your body? This is a big problem. All of you are already set in your ways, you have your own habits. I have more hope in the young generation. But you brag that you are the graduates of the UTS, and that you have learned more than others.

Do you think God loves me or not? Then, why does He let me receive persecution and put me in the prison? This was so that the competitor won’t be able to come even close. God persecutes me to see if I am good enough. You must pass this kind of trials also. This is the only way that God will hand everything over. The same set of principles are at work for you. Before I hand over the jewels of heaven to you, I must first put you through all these tribulations. I need people who are willing to go to the most miserable place and sacrifice there. Do you think that the spirit world tested me numerous times? Do you think I won’t test you? Have you ever passed my test? Am I not the center and the representative of the Unification Church? So, shouldn’t you receive test from me also? If I order you to leave your comfortable life and ask you to become beggars in some remote place in Africa, do you have the confidence to pass the test? I do not see any qualified candidates who can pass the test. You must take a test or exam from the center of the Unification Church. I sees many times that brothers run away from fishing when it is raining and nasty weather. They go to somewhere more enjoyable. I have been fishing for 20 years, and I fished since 5:00 this morning. But I am thinking about going back because I have not met my quota for today. What is more important? My own responsibility or educating you? What is more important? Responsibility? Then I have to leave now. We live for the sake of our responsibility. The forty years of my life is the concentration of the four thousand years. I know how valuable I am but I have been ignoring this and totally persevering through all these years. Those Unification Church members who don’t follow in my footsteps in terms of keeping the standard will perish . Understand clearly the distinction between heaven and hell. If you don’t understand hell, just look at American society. It is a mirror image of hell. I created UTS to protect this world from this spreading hell. IfUTS produced 800 graduates who are like me, then America and the world would not be in this sad state. I do not even have one person. What should I do? Should I burn this place down? I no longer have any interest or hope here. Do you professors have confidence? Did you love America more than me, you professors? All you did was open your hand to beg for money, and you have not tried to do anything for me. I will soon go to the spirit world. Who will then take responsibility for UTS? What should we do? Do you have the confidence to take responsibility in my place? It is very easy to answer yes. In America alone, I spent 120 million dollars in just one year. Suppose I used it for the sake of Russia and China. I would have reaped hundreds of times more results there. You cannot even compare the American young people to the Russian young people. Am I a foolish person or smart? Then, why did I spent that much money with no return? Some might say, since Rev. Moon has a lot of money he spends a lot here, so what? I have never done anything in which I suffered losses. I am willing to push you to the extreme, to the point where you lose your life for the sake of your country. I said that this is an extension of hell. If you want to pull yourself out of hell, you have to change 180 degrees, not 90 degrees. The only way is 180 degrees. Otherwise there’s no hope. I will have to put you through an incredible amount of suffering and work to pay the indemnity. Your family, wife, children do not come first. You must live first for the sake of humanity, world and God. You have to be the representative of the top.

I explained today that you are dead people, like trash. But you still have desire and determination to follow my footsteps. Are you determined? (Yes) If the remaining group here do not make a pledge that you will exert your uttermost and take the responsibility on behalf of me, then I will close down this place. The wives of the professors here, your spouses must become missionaries and go around the neighboring villages to witness to the people. You must be trained in witnessing and leading congregation. You must make spiritual children in the two years that you spend here in whatever way you can. You have to have spiritual children. Do not think that you can just leave here without doing anything? I came up here every single day for three days, and I have given so many directions, yet none of them are carried out. I have curse and hatred for this place. Did you see the fishing nets I made? I made them without sleeping at night. If you really want to save lives, then you must pioneer. Are the student body and faculty here willing to follow my footsteps and save America? If you do, raise your hands. I assigned Jin-Un and Sung-Am Moon in charge of CARP under Hyo-Jin, so they can go out to the world to lead Carp movement worldwide under my leadership. Hyo-Jin will come here soon. He will come here to supervise your life of faith and lead those organizations of the world. You are to teach students divine principle at least three times before graduation, and also teach Unification thought, and so forth. You must make comparisons with theologies of other religions. As long as you are equipped with DP and Unification Thought and VOC, you can cope with any scholar or intellectual. I have been carrying on this fight. You must sharpen your sword, you must be equipped with ideology. President Kim has the responsibility to connect with the alumni as an itinerary worker and encouraging them to do Father’s work. Church leaders who came to UTS are supposed to report to me of how you are doing, even in UTS. I want to set the absolute standard for the Unification leaders coming out of UTS. I am going to use this place to raise great leaders. You must learn practical skills like farming and fishing, and so forth, so that you will be able to help solve the problem of hunger by giving people these skills. I will have thousands of One Hope boats. We will have at least one person in each village, and create a world wide organization for the sake of fully solving the problems of hunger. We can send food to wherever it is needed. In Africa there are many animals to hunt. If parents know how to hunt, then their children will not starve. I am making preparations in the Texas farm, to train people in fishing and farming. You did not come here to secure a comfortable life for yourself, but to save life and save the world. Don’t you know how valuable a life is? Before you die, how many lives are you going to save? There is nothing else that counts. The only thing that counts in the spirit world is how many lives you have saved. Because I know this secret, I am leading this kind of life. The lives you save are your asset, and your only asset. In the spirit world, you do not need knowledge, power, and money~the only thing that you need is love. That will determine the place that you will belong in the spirit world. If you have been in the Unification Church for decades and you do not have any spiritual children, then you are parasites, robbers! The Kingdom of Heaven is still empty, waiting people to come. Satan is blocking the path. But we must bring citizens to the Kingdom

of Heaven. You must make a determination to set a goal to save a certain number of lives by witnessing to them. Even while I was facing so much persecution, I determined to save 160 nations in 40 years. Now, the environment is so much better; there is virtually no persecution. If you do anything else besides spiritual works after you graduate, then I will persecute you and kick you from the spirit world. Knowledge has little value. In the spirit world, you can learn everything in a week. The only thing that counts is the fruits of true love. How are you going to escape the accusations that your wife and children are going to make after they go to the spirit world, for not having followed my footsteps? I have neglected my children completely for my public mission, and they were bitter. But I told them to wait until they turn twenty five when they can understand the reason. When they did, they realized the greatness of my works and they respected and loved me many times more. You must follow the pattern of Father. When you go to the farm, you must talk with the farmer over night, when you go to the fishing village, you must spend the whole night to spread the truth; there is no free time. I came here again today. In a few days I will leave the country and may not be able to visit the country again. From September you will have a new curriculum that can train you. Until now the president of UTS has been a Korean citizen. Next, he will be a Japanese. Then he will be American. I will create a Vice President position of UTS. The Korean, Japanese and American leaders must unite and work together. It is destructive for a person to stay here too long, so those of you who stayed here long should prepare to leave. You must leave and do what you can do in your field. I am not making a command, but making a suggestion for the UTS student body, faculty, staff, and the whole community to consider. The board of trustees meeting will take place and make recommendations as to who should become the VP and who should replace whom. The board will make the final decision, but my recommendation will be considered seriously in the matter. You should center all your decisions on my directions. President Kim, you should take your hands off and make preparations to go to the next world. Please study the new pledge, the family pledge. That will say clearly the meaning of blessed couples.

NOTES FROM TRUE FATHER’S SPEECH TOUTS FACULTY East Garden May 13, 1994

[These notes are an unofficial summary of the talk Father gave following dinner at East Garden to the UTS Faculty.]

There are many different schools of Theology, but the essential contents are all the same. Unification Theology must be different from traditional Christian Theology. Unification Theology must be able to unite all different schools of Theology-as its name implies. Without the foundation of Unificationism as the platform, concepts like peace, freedom and happiness cannot be achieved. Unificationism is the prerequisite. On the family level the concept of filial piety can be applied to any relationship-children-grandchildren, children-parents, between brothers, etc.-it is a universal concept which leads to freedom , peace and happiness because it brings total oneness among family members . A true patriot sets the standard for a country-so he has total freedom there-wherever he goes he is the center. On the world level the saint is the standard. Throughout history the teaching of saints has always been for the sake of the world, not just the nation. The final level is Holy Son-freedom in Spirit World and Physical World. Of course there are laws in the Spirit World and this world, but the Holy Son is beyond the level of laws. There are two distinct laws-Heavenly Law and Law of the Heavenly Palace-but for the Holy Son it doesn’ t matter. The Palace in Heaven is in the position of mind in Spirit World, which dominates all laws in Spirit World. To qualify as Holy Son you need a blood lineage relationship with God directly-you should be children of God. Then love and life also get united with God. What category of person do you want to become? To be a Holy Son you have to pass all levels from filial piety in the family. How can we pass all these steps? The key is to be in the original position where we invest 100% for eternity and then forget-just like God has been doing. God is the center root-connect to the center root, God. If we are not in that position then if we find and connect to someone in that position we get connected-like through a medium. Do you understand the change of blood lineage at the Holy Wine Ceremony? Because of the Fall we had false lineage, life and love centered on false parents. We have to graft to True Parents through True Love and receive true life and true lineage. At the time of the Holy Wine Ceremony we are reborn into the infant stage, where we know only father and mother-so no matter what is around , just pay attention to True Parents. Blessed Couples should live with True Parents’ words and True Parents ’ family . We have to be completely under True Parents ’ dominion. In 40 years True Parents expanded dominion to the world level-just stick with True Parents. We are not supposed to speak English here-only True Parents ’ language. True Parents are here in history just once in the entire history for the sake of the whole of humanity-think of their value. There are millions of parents and children, but True Parents are totally different-only once in history. God wouldn ‘t exchange True Parents for any of those millions

of parents . “Blood is thicker than water.” Once connected in blood lineage invisible power connects us . Children resemble parents because of blood lineage. Father trained members on boats for 20 years to save people in Africa, but Father doesn ’ t see any UTS PhD ‘s joining Father for fishing. Have you thought of being a true filial son to True Parents and catching better fish than Father to serve the world; better than Peter did for Jesus? Restoration of 6,000 years history means restoring the family-True Parents established 160 families which Satan cannot invade. Satan came into our body and mind at the Fall but Satan cannot infiltrate this foundation-Satan will have to retreat and then God ‘s work is complete. Humankind has suffered under Satan, but no more. As an analogy think of a country which establishes a national sovereignty. The people may not know what the cabinet is doing but when they make good laws they are influenced. If people stay within the law they are safe-they can claim the laws as their laws , the country as their country. They didn’ t come up with the laws themselves but can claim them if they follow the laws. It is like an election-there are many candidates , but once one is elected President he is everybody’s president, other countries recognize him too. Father won the victory on all levels so Father has sovereignty but Father is not the only one who claims it-neighboring countries recognize it, all members under Father claim it is my victory too because Father is the victor. From God down to Satan and Hell Father is recognized as the victor, and we belong to the team of the victor. When Father came to UTS on April 25th, he said that to declare the Completed Testament Age he had to challenge God and get God ‘s approval and the approval of all saints and sages in Spirit World-they all challenged Father as a heretic, even God tested him and he received seal of victor from God. Then he came down to this level and pushes the world up to that level. Since Father laid such a foundation in Spirit \\’orld and Physical World we receive blessings from Father. We take them for-granted-so many members say God speaks to them , but they have no seal of approval from God. The Completed Testament Age is the time to unify Spirit World and Physical World together. Even the Satanic world has people who oppose Rev. Moon, but they can’t make a big noise-their mouth can’ t open! When Father visited 50 states and True Mother travelled the world there was no opposition because the program in Spirit World and Physical World match. Because of that unseen power behind True Parents it was possible for Mother to speak at Capitol Hill, the UN , Japanese Diet, Korean Parliament. On that victorious foundation Father announced to the world that he won victory in the Spirit World and Physical World. If you want to be famous you have to be a good diplomat and politician. Theology is supposed to be on top-knowing God . Strictly speaking, God has been a politician to win this world. So you have to be a politician and diplomat on God ‘s side. Until now all diplomats have been on Satan’s side. That’s why Father has been interested in politics-he saw the battle between democracy and communism was not good. You need a Japanese samurai sword-if something is not right cut it in half! Father came to America and held it by the necktie and wrestled with it-you need that kind of guts . You all should become revolutionary soldiers . You have the names of PhD’s from Harvard, etc. , but you can’t open your mouth in front of President Kim . Did any of you challenge President Kim to take his position and take care of UTS? Or launch a revolution

against the old seniors? If we truly had Unification Theologians at UTS for 20 years you would have witnessed and influenced Dutchess County by now. Suppose you stay at UTS another 20 years and join Spirit World and your neighbors go to Spirit World. They will challenge you as UTS professors who knew True Parents and didn’t teach them. Can you say “I didn’t have a mouth, a tongue, I couldn’t talk!” Father has been going to each corner of the country; you sat and enjoyed a comfortable life. You are in the position of students; Father is the teacher. Students should follow the teacher. It’s a big problem. Even a small travelling circus moving from town to town marches downtown with clowns and advertise. We have UTS to teach God’s message, but you didn’t make that effort. For example, you could have a debate every week in downtown Poughkeepsie between UTS students and local ministers and theologians. If you did that for the last 20 years, all the Christians would have given in by now. While you neglected your mission Father went to jail and came out on top of America victorious-Father did it single-handed. Father spent 1.2 billion dollars on America. If you had that money you would live comfortably. Don’t you feel anger you were labelled “Moonies” by family and friends? Yet do you want to continue your life as it is and join Spirit World? Are you satisfied to stay at UTS or go back and rule your country? [To Dr. Seidel] Are you preparing for that? If you see students from Europe you should plant so much love in them which will grow when they go back to Europe. You shouldn’t miss any European student. Write to them back in Europe-then you will be the hero of Europe. You would have a long list if you did this for 20 years. American professors should also put more effort into taking care of graduates to save America. Do graduates say thank you to you? But you thought of your own situations more, not about saving this country. Writing a letter i”. a piece of cake now with computers-just change the name and send 50 letters. Just send a letter 3 or 4 times a year and you will be connected. If a graduate received 70 or 80 letters from you, he would consider you as God caring about him. There are some crazy members sending letters all the time, even to True Children; but you don’t write any good letters. You should have the attitude to come here and report to True Children what is happening at UTS any time. Father has a strong foundation in America. If you were truly centered on the public mission you would contact people in your hometown and talk about Divine Principle with them. You are American-same language, same living style as them. They are your foundation. If you lose your foundation then you lose your country. It is time to clean up 20 years mess. If you visited our states and hometowns and dealt with all the leaders and Unification Church leaders there you could have done a lot to give input there. Since Mother’s speech at Capitol Hill in July, 1993 we had 219 congressmen sign the declaration for Parents’ Day. When they signed they knew what Father was doing. When Father went to Danbury ministers mobilized-going to prison was a campaign to save the nation. Father prepared video tapes and books for 350,000 ministers with 98 10-ton trucks to transport them. Father set the condition like that so every Christian minister would know what was happening and why. Some Christian ministers opposed Father and hid the package-because it was too big to just throw away-but later they brought it out and watched the tapes. They remember the time they received that big package. As Father’s name got around and they heard of his activities they looked for those tapes as a treasure and watched them and repented. That is also heavenly

strategy. How can they say they didn’t have tapes-Father sent them everywhere. Our company Future Productions emerged out of that time-they can produce 300,000 copies a day now. As long as we are alive we must leave something behind. You are people with big heads. Within 5 years you should be able to figure everything out, make your foundation and move on somewhere else. Don’t settle at UTS with no goal, but come out of UTS and prove yourself to alumni and your hometown. When Father was your age he went to prison, challenged all obstacles and won victories. Are you proud of Father, or do you want to do more than Father so you don’t have to be proud of Father? You don’t have confidence, purpose in your life, not clear. Without clear set goals you waste your life. When Father comes to UTS after a long absence you feel afraid-what’s going on! At the beginning Father came all the time, made fishing nets at night, went fishing in the lagoon. Nobody came to Father and said “I caught bigger fish than you, come and join us.” No-one said “I can catch fish in your place, stay at home.” If anyone had come 5 times like that Father would have replaced President Kim long ago. If President Kim stayed 7 days a week at UTS it would be a big job, but he comes 1 day a week-how can you manage! Other schools have a president on campus 7 days a week and it’s a big challenge to develop the school. If President Kim brought 12 professors here and challenged Father to go fishing with them, he might stay as president until he is 100 years old. At 80 years Father can be anything-farmer, fisherman, boxer, etc. Father made a soccer team in Korea-it became champion and 4 members of Father’s team were chosen for Korean team in the World Cup here this year. You have big heads but no action-Mother said “weak legs!” Father does exercise every day even now. Father goes fishing all day. You need that spirit to save a big strong country like America. Every time at Belvedere people raise their hands, but don’t do anything. Father said the next UTS president will be Japanese-first is Korean (Adam), second Japanese (Eve), third Western-British, German or American-(Child). That way True Parents’s tradition will be inherited. The Adam and Eve country traditions should be combined and inherited. Adam and Eve were enemies as individuals; Korea and Japan were enemy nations and must now unite. Only Dr. Shimmyo and Dr. Masuda are Japanese professors at UTS-both graduates of Tokyo University, the top university in Japan. Also Mr. Furuta is a graduate of Tokyo University. If Father combines these three brains he can move Japan. If Dr. Shimmyo is president of UTS for 3 years then he can go back and be president of Tokyo University. Do you think it is better for UTS to have a Japanese or Western president? The trend is for Oriental students. Father has a new plan for UTS. UTS graduates didn’t do a good job. So, until the year 2000 Father wants to see Oriental students trained and utilized to save America directly under Father’s influence and dominion. When Oriental students who are potential leaders graduate from UTS Father will marry them with Western wives to save America. They can become senators and congressmen in America. Father made this pledge before he came to America. Now before he leaves permanently to Korea he is leaving this kind of direction to UTS. Those who sided with Communism in the past lost their center, but when they find Father they will follow, raising the flag. The young generation is not contaminated by false accusation against True Parents-we can mobilize them against negative groups such as CAN. Young

people will tell them they know what’s really going on: Rev. Moon is acting for the sake of American, you Christians are just paying lip service. Father gave direction to launch declaration of True Parents at 3,000 college campuses. UTS professors, are you going to live comfortably or take responsibility for this campaign? Every Saturday and Sunday you should give lectures, even if you have to drive 24 hours each way you must do it. Father travelled back and forth across America by car giving speeches. The fruits of Father’s hard work are you-are you worst fruits or famous fruits? You may be needed by 100 UTS students, but the country needs you, the world needs you. Do you want to devote your life to 100 students or the country or the world? Have you been thinking that way? If you want to leave some good result, if you just stay at UTS you can’t. You have to inherit good potential to your country. Think about Father-at the podium he is a great speaker, on the boat he is the best fisherman. Yesterday Father caught all 8 fish on his boat; today he caught 4 and came back early because of you. It is a miracle-Father catches all the fish, although others try hard, it takes expertise. You have to become a crazy person with total concentration to reach that level. Because of training in every area Father can see what’s happening in the entire universe. You have to have confidence, determination to achieve it-that’s the first step. - In 3 years Father will raise UTS to famous international level, bringing brilliant students. Father will choose them, not leftover members. Once the new President comes a new cabinet will be formed-he has the right to assign anyone in UTS. The leaders of UTS should voluntarily submit their resignation so the new President can choose new people for the positions. Unless there is difficulty, students should come as single people not living with their wife and children-study and pray together as students. Faculty members have to practice living together with 3 families in the same house, sharing kitchen, rooms, children, etc. as a kind of training. Father’s plan is Korean, Japanese and German families living together in the same condominium complex, to unify. If you can’t cope with this training and system you can go out and find a job on your own. That way saves living expenses. We are deeply indebted to Japanese members who sacrificed to give money-they stay single until 33 years, Jesus’ age. But now Father reduced the age to 30 because of the grace of True Parents. After the year 2000 normal age will come back-no limit for married life. With only American people Father can’t accomplish. Father can use a baseball bat on Asian leaders and they won’t complain; Americans would sue Father. You are the ones who witnessed Father’s persecution. Dr. Shimmyo, can you do a better job than President Kim? Mr. Joo tried to escape when Father re-organized the Washington Times, but Father told him the break even point was coming. Now the Washington Post takes the Washington Time seriously; our circulation is increasing. Be totally naked again and wear new clothes; otherwise pack and leave quietly. Until the place sinks under the sea Father will never give up. You need determination to succeed and return to your own country and become the president of a seminary in your own country. Father doesn’t plan to see you get old at UTS and waste your life-become presidents of Harvard Divinity School and Yale, etc. Father is the only one who can save this country. In every field at UTS the Divine Principle should be the center-UTS should be the center of every field in the world. In that sense Unification teaching is in subject position, all

other views are in object position. Centering on the subject as nucleus with everything revolving around Unification Theology as the center, all else is supplementary materials to support our position-Christian Theology, etc. As you continue doing this project you can read Father’s speeches to find answers to all questions in the entire world. Professors should teach students how outstanding Father’s view is compared to other views. Even when teaching Church History set the goal following the Divine Principle book and put Christian events as supplementary events for students to understand Divine Principle more clearly. That is the purpose of establishing the new curriculum to be used from September. Father’s goal and direction is UTS graduates will return after graduation as qualified leaders in and out of the Unification Church wherever they go. If UTS fails to do that, Father will utilize Sun Moon University and have a Divinity School there. But Father started UTS first and Father supported you so you have the first chance. Tighten your belts; before you think of eating, sleeping, taking care of your family, think of making UTS most famous campus in the world. Father spent many years catching carp there. In the future Father will run a ferry service from New York up the Hudson River-it has the most beautiful scenery in the world. You have to learn to drive boats too-the boats being built now for 160 countries. Mother toured 40 nations last year with 4 countries working together= 160 nations. Don’t you want to travel with Father and drive those boats! Many heads of state want Father to visit their country. UTS should prepare to take care of boats. It is time to create a new movement, new UTS. The boat is part of new UTS. Father will build 40 luxurious yachts and send them to the countries Mother visited-hobby industry, means make industry attached to your hobby. When you see blood gush from the fish all your stress disappears at the shock! At the ocean you have to fish, in the mountain hunt. Father has no fear of supporting life-can catch -~ish, shoot animals, it’s very convenient. Because of his training Father can do many things now in any field. When Dr. Pak encounters big shots he can’t control he brings them here and sits them down and Father controls them. Father is a very practical person. You have big heads and rely on speaking not action. Father does action first, and on that foundation he talks.

Are you making a foundation to become president of a university? You have to run like at the Washington Times, make such a busy atmosphere, crazy, not the normal way. You need someone to give you direction all the time or you can’t move-after 10 years of that you can be a real leader. Now Book 1 is closed at UTS. Make a new determination for Book 2.

UTS professors must read Father’s speeches in the original language, not second hand. Have to solve the language problem-True Parents bring solution, True Parents’ language is the only way. Based on True Parents make True Family, Society, Nation, World-only one language of True Parents. There is so much damage and waste due to language barrier-confusions. Diplomatic problems are blamed on language-”! didn’ t say that, it was translated wrongly!” Translations of the Bible in many languages has led to many denominations with different interpretations. If we have many Divine Principles in different languages we will have different denominations in our movement-you must learn one language. You must solve cultural difficulties between East and West through one language-urgent! When you study original Father’s words you will see their value. World Theologians will be interested in Divine Principle-in the original language. They will check the exact words, meaning, particularly of Father’s speeches which are now 210 volumes and will be 300 volumes. In the future scholars will focus on each page of Father’s speech. If you don’t know Korean you cannot participate-you will be ignored. Study original Father’s speech and Divine Principle or your authority will not be respected. In Jin Nim finished her degree at Harvard Divinity School. Father observed how smart she is-she took only 1 year to complete the 3-year program. Father and True Children will test you when you come to East Garden-that’s reality. Don’t think only one True Child is smart-they all are. Whatever you do must be based on Divine Principle or it has no value. Father observed True Children have great academic backgrounds from their studies. Be careful-True Children will call you and test you. True Children have authority not just because they are Father’s children but because of their own ability. Kook Jin Nim’s professor has to prepare at least 1 week for each class or gets into trouble. To study in America you have to read an enormous amount of books. Mr. Peter Kim spent 2 days to write a paper and that was not enough to do a good job-Un Jin Nim finished in 1 evening with no problem. Study Korean. You are young enough, half of Father’s age. Mr. Peter Kim is a better translator than Col. Han because he is younger. When your children get an international blessing you will argue about which language to use in the family-True Parents’ language, hometown language. Only 1 language, not 2 or 3-only 1 True Parents. The family is a very important issue, especially in America. Now we have the Family Pledge-educate people with this pledge, use it to solve problems. Think about giving lectures in Korean, at Sun Moon University. If you give lectures in Korean at universities you will be very famous. In the future PhD’s will be given to those who study Father’s words in every area-Father spoke on every topic. In Germany Father made an engineering company with high technology-Germany is strong in engineering and we became top. Japan is strong in electronics and we have Wacom, and media in America (Washington Times). You should consider achievement, accomplishment, not just ability. PhD is not enough-need substantial achievement. People made noise against Father but now they are quiet. Father made such remarkable accomplishments, if Father announces he is going to Washington

DC everyone is nervous, shaking! If Father goes to Japan or Korea, everyone follows and listens to what he says, really pays attention to what Father is doing because it is always meaningful. There are 800 UTS graduates-Father expected them to work in mission but Father can’t see them-where are they? UTS graduates should give a hard time to their professors at graduate school-then after graduation come back and lead the professors the right way; but your chance is missed now. UTS graduates made very good students at Harvard, etc., now you can meet them as colleagues and lead them with better theory-lead the theological world in the right direction. After graduation write research papers and publish in renowned journals. Study the most recent academic disputes. You are qualified to criticize their theories based on Divine Principle and Unification Thought. Those papers will be published and given to our library. We must build a library not only of theological books, but our own books-it should be the center of theological research. People who studied in a Christian library will realize our library is so much better and be attracted to study more to understand everything. Father’s idea is to make you world famous theologians but you didn’t follow that direction. Father wants you to be better than he is, do you understand that? Quality is important-publish quality research and papers-that will dominate the world. Review all theories historically and write clear conclusions about where to go now-that kind of book will be really respected. Publish in all areas, not just theology. In the future being invited to UTS to lecture will be how to become famous. You will be asked to present the most updated theory at all universities. All of you should become this famous, in every area. Then UTS will get the reputation as the best center of theological research in the world. Even scholars with a PhD from other schools will come to UTS for post-doctoral research-the whole world will come under UTS. Father is creating a new university at Bridgeport, but more internal standard at UTS-University of Bridgeport is external, UTS is internal is Father’s vision, but it is not yet fulfilled. If you understand Father you should become leaders for all areas, not just one. You should be an expert in your own area and impact the world. Father approached the top (Nixon) first when he came to America. As a PhD your ambition should be to reach the top world level, not the middle. Father has been persecuted, but you have respectable titles-professor at UTS-so you can accomplish on the world level. Father’s situation was so difficult, but he accomplished. Don’t just sit down in 1 area, but challenge bigger and higher areas, then people will respect you even if you die. Through AFC state legislators really respect Father-if Father died in America would they just put him in a public cemetery? No, in a very respected area. They will recognize that Father did really useful things and use them for educating youth-they will visit his shrine and study his life and work. You have to have confidence to be like that. Do you want to die for 1 campus or whole country? It takes 1,000 times more effort, your life. You have to become number 1 professors then your influence will go beyond UTS. Father’s plan is not to limit you to UTS only. There is no university like UTS in this country, because there is no ideal family. When there is ideal family it becomes ideal society, nation and world. Now a whole encyclopedia can be carried on 1 CD and read in your home. The key issue is not how many books, but who has ideal family system. If you establish the ideal family the world will follow that. Father created Washington Times even though there were 1700 daily newspapers in America. Father has a unique idea so it became successful. Concentrate on this ideal family system and it will solve all problems. You should be proud of the ideal family.

Think of your age and how much you can do. Think about where you are-if you worry about getting a job, feeding a family, these are trivial things. If you can’t overcome low level problems you can’t be respected by the world. Father made this much accomplishment but we can do more-hopeful point of our church. Father accomplished everything in 40 years-you do it in less, think about it. It is amazing how Mother could accomplish in 18 months what Father did in his whole life-Mother inherited all Father’s victory and the whole world knows it. Mother’s life was also very difficult-lonely, ignored, isolated. Now she overcame and succeeded, and is respected by the whole world. If you overcome all difficulties and persecution you will be respected, your children will appreciate and respect you. You have to make the same kind of foundation in your family as Father made. What Father demonstrated you should follows. In the future will people respect True Mother and True Children? Think about influence on history. Father didn’t see any PhD’s who volunteered to introduce Mother on stage in their hometown during the speaking tour. If you did then people would erect a statue of you because of such a memorial day. Your relatives may have persecuted you as brainwashed, but now they see you are successful because of Rev. Moon-how proud of you they can be. Unfortunately that time has past. Father gave direction for 3,000 campuses and nobody moved. Now Father gave strong direction so you are beginning to move. You should be campus ministers and give lectures in 12 campuses every month-how famous you will become. Take action! Don’t just have interest, take action!

“Create Your Ideal Family to Save the World”

Distinguished guests, parents, graduates, alumni, administration, faculty, staff, ladies

and gentlemen:

Welcome to the 18th graduation exercises of the Unification Theological

Seminary, where we have gathered to honor thirty-two youthful and promising

graduates of the class of 1994.

My message to you who are graduating today is simple yet very important:

Create an exemplary family following the tradition of the family of True Parents in

order to solve the problems in America and in the world.

As you know, today’s world is full of many difficult problems such as juvenile

delinquency, drugs, crime, poverty, free sex, child abuse, divorce, racism and war. I

believe that all such problems can be attributed to the problem of the family. For if the

parent has a problem, the child will naturally imitate it, bringing it to society when the

child becomes an adult. The problem of the family consists in abnormal or unhealthy

relationships among its members, and this results in abnormal or unhealthy

relationships within society. Hence come the above-mentioned various problems in the

nation and in the world.

In many cases, abnormal or unhealthy relationships within the family consist in

incest, involving unnatural sexual relations among its members. This destroys a healthy

standard of the family, leading its members eventually to free sex and immorality in

their social lives. A natural outcome of this is destructive human relationships

throughout society and the world. In this sense, the responsibility of the family is very

important and far-reaching. The family has a decisive influence on the world.

The influence of the mother is especially far-reaching because the child in its

younger years is more influenced by the mother than by the father. Here in America,

do we have many unselfish mothers who can influence their children in a positive way?

Again, are there filial children in America who can follow the examples of their mothers

who are good?

If the family has a high moral standard, the world will be an ideal world. This

is the reason why I am saying: Create an exemplary family in order to solve the

problems of the world.

But did Christianity create exemplary families which helped to build an ideal

world? No. Look at the present situation of Christendom. Doesn’t it have a lot of

serious problems yet to be resolved? Even after the demise of Communism, it seems

that those problems are becoming more and more serious. Newspapers are full of

articles on the immoral conduct of clergy as well as on premarital and extramarital

affairs and homosexual marriages in Christian society. It seems that Christianity is

totally incapable of handling these problems, in spite of Jesus Christ’s original moral

teachings 2,000 years ago. Although there are numerous Christian evangelists today,

their messages usually promote selfish and materialistic desires, thus being unable to

serve the whole purpose of saving the nation and the world.

I founded the Unification Theological Seminary in 1975 in order to revitalize

Christianity and save this nation and the world. Therefore, UTS graduates must rise

up to do what Christianity could not do, i.e., create ideal families for the building of

God’s kingdom on earth. I want to say this especially to this year’s graduates because

this is the second year after the inauguration of the Completed Testament Age.

Originally, Adam and Eve as the original human ancestors were expected to

create a God-centered ideal family without falling. Unfortunately, however, they failed

to do so, with the result that the fallen world came about. In order to make up for the

mistake of Adam and Eve, Jesus came 2,000 years ago and tried to establish his own

ideal family. But he was rejected and killed by the chosen nation of Israel. Thus he

could not establish an ideal family. This is the very reason why Christianity has not

been able to create exemplary families for the building of the ideal world, in spite of

Jesus’ tremendous efforts to fulfill God’s will.

In order to carry out Jesus’ original mission, True Parents stand firm now. In

spite of severe persecution and misunderstanding from the world and especially from

Christianity the last 40 years, I always lived up to the spirit of forgiveness, love, patience

and sacrifice. I totally invested myself to embrace my enemies to testify to the real

power of God as His filial son. On this foundation, I created an unbreakable God-

centered family. In order to create an ideal family, one must live for the sake of other

members of the family and then the family as a whole must have the same spirit to live

for the sake of the world. Were you ever committed to living for the sake of your

parents, your spouse and your children unconditionally? Were you also ever committed

as a family person to living for the sake of the world unconditionally? True Parents

have already reached that level, establishing an unbreakable tradition for God-centered

families which we call blessed families.

As UTS graduates, you have a very important mission of restoring this world.

In order to restore this world, you must create your own blessed family which is an

example to other families in this world. In order to create your own ideal family, you

must know the tradition of True Parents’ family. May God’s grace be with you as you

embark upon your new missions. Thank you.

Today we have with us the regional directors, for the 20-year anniversary of the Ocean Church providence. They have served in a pioneering way as you should do in the future, to inherit their tradition. Pay attention to them - never be outdone by them. Among those who have just graduated from UTS, how many American members are here? How many western; how many from Japan? Does UTS belong to America, or to the world? To the world. The number of American students at UTS is decreasing. Father holds the regional directors responsible. This is the time when the first generation is leaving; it is the time of the second generation. The first generation were carnal, against God’s will; they died in the wilderness. It is the second generation which goes into Canaan. But, the second generation is not equipped with clear thought for the founding of God’s country. Israelites perished because they did not set up clear thought with the second generation to make a country of God. Now, the time has come again, and we must do it no matter how difficult it is. They could not, and so we must do it now. Regional Directors should learn from the past, and provide enough students to study at UTS for the future. Which is more ideal: more American or more Japanese students? American: the purpose is to save America. Father made UTS to save America, not Japan. [In English: free sex means enemy. Wipe it away; this is our clear mission, or else America will perish. Who can save America? No American can do it except us. It is clear.] Father expected fewer people here today. Why are there so many? Father heard that forty-one trainees were here. Those who are UTS graduates and also trainees raise your hands. What did you learn at UTS? You put in orderly fashion your waste baskets. Most of what you studied you don’t need. Our ,,--._, goal is to be restored. We need to go above the level of the Fall, one level above that. Religion and ’ restoration came about because of the Fall. They were not necessary to begin with. It is absurd that God must have religion to make us better. If you don’t need religion, then what do you need? What do you need instead? What I need is myself, not religion. What kind of self? The self which has nothing to do with Fall. When God created Adam, did Adam come to God, or did God came to Adam? [God came to Adam.] Children do not know the value of their parents. Parents help children to grow up. Have you stopped to think that God must have come to me? When God visited Adam, did God kiss Adam? When God created Adam did he create him small or grown up. As a baby. As an infant wetting diapers. Just like the babies we see today, urinating all over the place. When God holds His baby in His arms, His baby with diapers, the mess is all over God’s body, but does He mind that? He did not mind. Just as with babies today, He gave His baby affection. Do you think God kissed the baby? When people grow up they become ugly. But when they were babies were they ugly? No. Invariably a mother kisses her baby. Does God care abut Y.QY? What do you think? Have you actually felt that God held you and kissed you? Have you felt that? Have you felt God hand in hand? Which happens, do parents take hold of your hand, or do you hold parents’ hand? The answer, without exception, is that parents take hold of our hands. We left our parents in search of God. Do we love God more than anything? How many times has God come to you? Is it merely a concept, or a reality which has happened many times. Did you ever feel that someone [God] was walking with you, and that He embraced you and kissed you? [Yes.] Maybe you’re not so sure. We know that salvation is to live together with Him and serve Him. To go to Heaven and be saved is not a concept but reality, and it can only be obtained by togetherness. It is

a condition; you cannot go to heaven without that. We have to be horizontally woven together, to live together. Have you ever stopped to think when there is an empty seat next to you on the bus, “God you sit there and I’ll sit here”? This should be your everyday life. You feel your parents right beside you; I’ll establish the country which you covet and care for. Whenever you see beautiful nature, you feel it is created for ~- You feel it is like my own skin; it is for me and my parents. You see all things around you, and woman who is made for me who is man. If you had no body, how much would you feel something is missing! What if you want to go somewhere but you have no legs? Be grateful for all your faculties and rejoice in this. We consider all the creatures under the ocean, we research them and live with them; we feel joy that God created this for me. All things were created for me; the mountains are for me. Rejoice along with the parents who are right beside me. So, you have to see everything and have a relationship with everything. So, when something is far away, you have to fly so as to get to see it quickly. God created all the things which we see with our eyes. Did he create for Himself, or for man? For me, representing all humanity. This is my creation. [In English: you have to have that kind of living style.] To keep pace with Father is very difficult, isn’t it? Father is super-active: he had to see everyone or he could not go to sleep. Whatever came into Father’s view, whatever Father saw, he had to be there. When Father sees the ocean, he doesn’t pass it. He has to be in it; he has to catch one, to see what’s in it. Yesterday, all the Regional Directors went fishing with Father. It rained and there was a storm; they all got seasick. Father was the only one remaining on two feet! Father told us to be a master. How can we be a master? The master is the one who pays most attention to the object. We all need money; raise hands if you feel you need money. Thee are two ways: either you follow money, or money follows you. Until now we thought we have to chase money because we need money. After you graduate from UTS, you have to work for someone. Would you go after the place where there is money? Which one do you pursue: man or money? Man. What kind of man? The man who loves money, or the man who loves many men? Man is more important than money. If he happens to be a millionaire, the million dollars will follow him. Father educated 133,000 people, and each donated money. Father never put the money in his pocket. Can you make that kind of money in one year? The Bible says that three or four thousand people followed Jesus; but they did not really follow Jesus. Now, 5000 people 40 times over listened to Father. Father’s goal is sixty more thousand by the end of September. They are not Unification Church members to begin with. Father said: “Bring anybody and I will make a human out of them.” Some people had triangular eyes, snake eyes. There were all kinds of people. Many people had a grudge because they felt that Father is the very one who snatched their child. But, they changed and are now determined to follow Father. Also, they had to pay money. That’s clearly brainwashing! Father cleared out all the dirty things. Not one opposed Father after three days. Those who are brainwashed don’t mind; it is those whose brains are not washed who mind. There are two different worlds. Those to whom Father spoke directly never felt bad. Is Father speaking conceptually, or about reality? Reality. Do you want to go through what Father went through? Do you want to speak to 5,000 people as Father did? And get money from them? Would you keep half for yourself and donate the other half? Money is only secondary. What Father is doing now is a record. In the future people will appear who want to do that. But, you’re not even thinking like that! You should think that at least one time, as a modest dream, at one time in my life~ I would like to gather 5,000 people and give them a smashing speech and change them overnight. You say it is not practical. But, how can Father and son be so different? Do you want your spouse to be better than you or worse? You want your spouse to be ten times, one thousand times better, or unlimited. Everyone would say “unlimited”. Father does not want his son to be inferior to him. He wants his son to be one hundred or one thousand times, or limitlessly better than him. It is true, it is not an exaggeration.

Do you live with God, serving God? The Korean word is “mo-shin-da”), which means to live with Him, with respect, returning glory. Have you had the occasion when you were clearly speaking to somebody who is God? You have to have that experience. Why? Because God has created the environment for us. [In English: that is the formula, subject and object.] God created the earth, water, and so on; all the responding organs are here - eyes, ear, mouth, and so on. These are the essential factors of life. Also, an individual has a spouse, a woman or a man. When you go into a particular situation, you immediately start a feasibility study. The key is the subject: you expect the object to respond. It is man who influences. That is reality of the creation. All development in society goes through this basic formula: first, we have a clear idea of subject and object. Then things grow. Then subject and object become one, and then it becomes a still bigger subject on a bigger scale. In the finger, all cells are united, and throughout the whole body. All cells in the body communicate. In this room, who is the subject? Father. We as a good object correspond to the subject. So, Father makes this into a small minus, and in this way Father wants to save the nation and the whole world. Have you ever stopped to make a plan?. You could make a plan for your three year at UTS. Then, you could make a plan that in ten years you would influence one whole nation. Unification Church members hear about restoring the individual, family, nation, and world. But, have we ever actually done a small part of that? Somebody has to do that actually. How about Father? Has he done it? [Yes] And, before Father, God did it. The easiest way is to follow a good order. After joining Unification Church and becoming more like Father, can you say that you like only part of Father’s words? Do you say that it is only an eastern concept? Take Father’s words inside. Father heard that people like the Unification Church teaching but not the lifestyle: getting up early, and so on. But that is the formula, without work it doesn’t work. When you get up early, you can meet God. The sun brings the dawn. Man gets up early and the sun wakes you up. But, if you wake up earlier, the sun will respect you. [In English: how wonderful that is.] How wonderful it is to change night into day. You stay up all night, and tell the night to respect you. Satan controls the night, so then Satan respects you. Father went to bed at 3:00 a.m. yesterday and got up at 5:40 a.m.the same morning. One person the night cannot control is Father: he has irregular hours. [To a sister in the back: when you laugh your flesh is laughing. Father wishes he could take you on his boat for three years: then no problem.] To be arrogant is no good, you have to be humble, willing to learn. America tried to chase out Father. Father said: “you don’t know what you are doing”, and grabbed America from behind. America is on a precipice about to fall: we say please pull more. Now, America remembers Father in a different way. After you graduate from UTS, what will you do?. Will you pursue money or love? Many graduates ended up in Washington, D.C. for the money they could receive there. Father was disgusted. Those who are like a locomotive can pull America. We should play the role of an engine to pull, not to be pulled. Father’s purpose in creating UTS was to make an engine to pull America, but today it is out of order. No one is pulling America. Twenty years ago, Father started creating this engine. You can see those who graduated: did they fail or succeed? If each graduate brought three or four new students, today there would be thousands at UTS. Thee should be thousands here. When Father came out of Danbury, he gave away 40,000 video tapes. [In English: to wake up America was no problem.] Now there is no one. It is our failure. Father would like to remind you that 1975-1976 was the time of peak opposition. At that time, Father started UTS. You must be reminded, that in 1975-1976, Father brought elite members to UTS. They could not witness for two precious years, and they left just new members behind. Yankee stadium, Washington Monument: why did Father make gigantic rallies? To wake up America, to lead America to right direction. It was a good enough foundation, but no one followed up on that. If we can tum the clock back, even if people persecuted us,if

we had done that, America would be completely different. Father created all the environment at that time. Father needed a subject, some American who can claim himself to be subject. Father expected you to be subject and America to be object. During the last twenty years, because we could not reach out, how many perished and went to hell? It is a serious matter. When God expects something and we ~ fail, it must be indemnified, even in the next generation. It is a different time now, not a time of indemnity but a time of harvest. Those who are about ---- to be harvested are calling the master. What would you want to be, a master or a servant? Master. What qualifications do you need? First, you must be true sons and daughters of True Parents, and then work harder. Many elite people joined Unification Church and vanished. Many of these ended up as servant or lower. Today, we need a master, not a servant. Did Father come to America for money, man, or for God? Father came in the wake of God and to find Americans, the subject. Everyone opposed Father, and Father even went to prison. Most people would just spit at this country and leave without regret. But, like Jesus who tried to embrace, Father went this way for the last forty years. Unification Church members are the third Israel. Father fought to cultivate and nurture that. And, Father has been doing it all over again. Now, Father is at the pinnacle. That means that it is the age when Adam and Eve fell. It means that restored Adam’s position is here building a new tradition, and doing away with the old. Adam and Eve’s family was the family where mind and body would be one. They were to practice love on earth and go to heaven. Adam’s family was supposed to be such a prototype. Now, we have a new pledge, but how qualified are we to recite it? The unit to go to heaven is the family. Unity among all citizens of a nation is actually families getting united. Can you announce that you have mind/body and husband/wife united in your family? If do that, then your children will follow. [In English: the family is center, the universal center]. To summarize: Adam’s family was the focus of perfection. We are all the seeds of Adam’s family. We are all of the same seed. [Father asks for and receives a copy of the new pledge in Korean.] This pledge came out for the ~ first time in human history. In all religions, they were not supposed to have a family. There was celibacy because of the Fall. People were not supposed to get married because the ancestor of human ~ race did not appear yet. That is the Second Coming. This is why you are not supposed to get married: if the parents not married, how can you? All religions said to live alone, to give up all personal wishes. Mind and body have been fighting in a pronounced way. You must give up either one. Mind must win over body before you get married. In society, people must fight to survive. But, God cannot stay where there is fighting. He is a peaceful God. It is a war-field. [In English: so, the bad world, and the bad mind and body fighting each other cannot stand in front of God.] You must understand by reason that family pledge becomes possible when the family center comes on earth. We must understand that persecution helped us to attain perfection. We won the victory and are in a position to inherit everything because we were persecuted on a world level. Once we can go over that, we will be qualified to inherit all things that were destined to us. [In English: there was supposed to be one set of original ancestors, not two. After the Fall, mankind lost that center point. Free sex means a different person each night. The, is a baby is born, whose baby is it? A woman should have one man, not two men. Free sex was made by Satan. That is true.] Our motto is none other than ideal family. When you as husband and wife meet, have you ever thought that the king and queen are about to meet? It is the place where God can reside. Have you ever thought that the sexual organ of Adam is the sexual organ of God? The sexual organ has a relationship of vertical as well as horizontal. What Adam has belongs to Eve. From Adam’s point of view, it represents the parent’s sex organ - from Eves’s point of view it is the husband’s. This is why it is greater than God’s love. God only has a vertical way of loving. He does not have a horizontal way of loving.

Only Adam and Eve can do that: vertical and horizontal. This relationship of father and son, centering true love, makes one body. Father and son become one body. [In English: Adam and Eve’s conjugal love makes one body. Both ways, vertical and horizontal. Brotherhood has the same meaning, subject and object.] In the Garden, Eve deceived the elder son and the father. Even if she violated either one (not both) we would have hell, but it would have been an easier domain of restoration. [Father draws a diagram, resembling the four position foundation.] God comes down from the top. Since God always occupies the center line, the children follow. God recognizes that his child is getting close to wedding age. Children grow in the line of parents. Even though God is invisible, he always follows the corresponding visible line. The invisible one always corresponds to he visible one, as internal and external. All of Adam and Eve is contained in the diagram. There are the formation, growth, and perfection stages. The body is the formation stage; the mind is the growth stage; and God is the perfection stage. Adam and Eve travel different ways and meet in the center. There is only one possible meeting point. Everything meets at that one point of vertical and horizontal crossing. That’s where Adam and Eve meet, and where God meets as well. It is the point where individual perfection is attained, and also where husband wife perfection is attained as well as brother/sister perfection. It is also the starting point of parents. This is the basic formula. A man must be the son of somebody, the brother of somebody, the husband of somebody, and the parent of somebody. That very moment when the sexual organs of man and woman join, that is when perfection takes place. Like a plug in electricity. There comes about perfection of all four realms of heart. Without this, nothing comes to exist. [In English: love palace, life palace, blood lineage palace. Three-kingdom palace.] Satan wants you to treat this lightly. But, it’s the essence of marriage. After marriage, you hang on to each other by the sexual organs. Women hang on like earrings. You are serious to meet each other in that connecting point. In a normal courtship, where does the hand go first? The sexual organ doesn’t have a beautiful face. Father doesn’t feel so good: he is the head of a religion and finds himself teaching this. Where does God want to live? This is why every man and woman has strong desire, and sexual desire too. Just like God. But, we now know that there is only one woman for one man. Adam and Eve’s marriage was God’s marriage; all the cosmos was to meet there. The offspring born from this lineage are God’s; so we call God, “Father”. President (Young Whi) Kim’s wife once asked Father where God wants to be. She prayed intently, and “that part” was bruised. This is where God can fully embrace that couple. No one can erase sexual desire because it is connected to God. The first love continues forever; one set of parents forever. True Father and True Mother must be one. Your children also want only one set of parents. In the ideal word, is you make a mistake. your organ is pulled out. You have to be serious if you don’t want your organ to be pulled out, by the root, by your wife. Where is God? Where does he exist? At the bottom of my bone, flesh, and blood. When it intermingles with lots of desire, that’s when conception takes place, centering on love,life, bones, and everything. When man meets women, fire is ignited and an explosion takes place; positive/negative power. Thunder and lightning is nature’s way. [In English: make loud noises… man and woman … ] Even the cold discriminating white male finds an attractive smell in his oriental wife. You know migrating birds. The birds travel from cold to warm and finally have babies. Salmon come back to the place where they were born to have their babies. Father says that the fish is better than some Unification Church members. Salmon means salvation-Moonie. We must become like salmon; the salmon male and female stay together. As they return home, the male salmon’s face changes, and he looks almost like a demon. He is very loyal. King salmon is very big. They damage their bodies on the stones in the river; then they die there, hurt and infected. Only the parents’ bodies are there for the offspring to eat. There is a lesson here: should man be inferior to that salmon? Father is thinking of making salmon the symbol of the Unification Church. Look at Father and Mother. Are they better than

salmon? Millions of times. Be proud that we are allowed to recite the (new) family pledge. The greatest scholar is nothing. Do you feel so close to God that He is a part of you? If Adam’s family was like that what about your family? Adam’s family was supposed to go to he top of the pinnacle with God, as a representative family and center family, and in that family God lives. Does the center of your mind and body live with God? If your mind and body rejoice with each other and become one, then God is already there. When man and woman benefit each other, God stays right there. So, shout out the depth of the meaning of being proud to be a family. Shout out, “Adam and Eve’s family, what did you do? You have to follow my family.” Can you say this confidently from now on? Jesus’ family was second one. Father took down the walls between mind and body, and in the family, nation, world, and cosmos; he brought down to this horizontal level. Father brought God down to his level. Now what is remaining is for Father to organize all the different families. Now is the time that, centering on the family model, there should be adequate relations with the other families. How valuable your family is! It is more valuable than all treasures. Typical American marriages are so treacherous; some don’t even last a week. It is a pathetic situation. What is extreme to white people? Black. American people fight black people. Who made that situation: white people. Black people have a great task: black people - don’t be indebted but make others indebted to you. As a black person, you must bring your spouse, who is white, to be higher than you. The races are fighting each other; the only hope is Rev. Moon. To weave between black and white, you need yellow thread. [Father asks the name of one of our affiliated organizations. Rev. Joon Hyun Pak says that the name is the Coalition of Harmony]. Father is supporting that group which is located in Los Angeles. Do you realize the value of the family pledge? You have to abide by this law, by looking at true wife, true husband, true son, true body, and so on. We have to feel tears in each word of the pledge; God’s tears are represented in each word. Those who do not feel tears when reading the family pledge are not qualified. In the past, how many people have sacrificed their lives, and they didn’t even know the goal. God has had to work so painfully. It is amazing, but true: it could never be achieved in your life time. But we have it, for the first time in human history. God is watching us, who are representing couples in America, and so on. Are you going to be the number one family in America, world, or cosmos? [In English - you are too greedy. Do you have the contents and value?] Everyone is competing - only one will go in. The only person who can turn round many people to God is Rev. Moon. Is that a fair statement? The imperfect ones are thieves opposing the perfect ones. Satan hates that one perfect one so much; he cannot bear it. When all the people say that he (Father) is not the one what would you say he is not the one? Would you say, “forget it”, and take it easy. Would you relax and give up, or would you try harder? Do you know who Father is? Do you really know? What if Father is a thief? What if he came to steal all the women of the satanic world. The Bible says that he will come as thief! The world says he steals children and women. It was men, not women, who opposed Father. When Father went to jail, more women cried than men. Father wants to emphasize how valuable blessed couples are. When Father tears down the wall in all eight stages, just continue to live with him, and you will inherit it. Where parents go, children want to go also, not just to a fun place, but even to a difficult place, even to prison. There are two kinds of sons and daughters: one follows when it is a happy time, the other follows when it is difficult, when there is suffering. Naturally, the parent’s mind moves to the second one. If you have the freedom to visit any child of yours, which will you visit first: the one who wants only happiness, or the one who is willing to go the suffering way? [Father points to some the framed calligraphy on the wall in the rear of the lecture hall.] That is a glorious motto: “Service, Endurance, Sacrifice.” A handsome man doesn’t like this motto. Do you

follow money, or do you follow, True Parents, or God, or men. Choose one: God, True Parents, man in that order. [In English: not money or outside men, but God and True Parents. Many young people are hooked by satan’s hook! How do we get rid of that? To do that we must help God and True Parents. Vertical and horizontal True Parents are combined there. Family, family.] When we see a floating wandering cloud, it is an accumulation of condensed water, not just from one place, but from America, Japan, and so on. Together, they make up a drop of rain. Think in this 11 11 fashion. No cloud thinks, 1 will fall in Japan. When you internationally marry, do you settle down? You cannot decide on any place. In Kodiak, Father made a big discovery. Father married a sensitive American woman to an insensitive Japanese man; she never complained, and Father came to respect that 11 family. Who married them! Father thought, 1 will find the best spouses for their children”. Now we know how important the family is. You must try hard to understand the value of your blessed family. It was 4,000 years ago, at the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, when God undertook the dispensation of settling down on earth. This was 4,000 years of biblical history, but before that there was much more time. It is symbolically represented by 6,000 years, but maybe it was tens of millions of years. The reason God took so long, is because in the earlier races, for God to love them as his own, it took many ups and downs on God’s part. Only 4,000 years ago, could God find something tangible. We must understand what agony God had to go through. Just imagine that your daughter is about to be married, and a thief takes her; and they have many children. Even is they apologize, you have to try very hard to overcome that anger. God had to try for many years to be able to forgive them; millions of years. We can only imagine God’s broken heart when He sees his own children snatched by the thief, and they do not know God. God could not even begin salvation, because before He can do that, He has to feel that these satanic children are his own children. It was only possible 4,000 years ago. So many tears were behind that. It is our honor, and we cannot expect to be called upon to serve him directly. How can Father love us, when everything we do offends him? Father had to turn his mind in order to be able to love us. We must never forget that mountains of suffering and betrayal happened before Father could bring salvation to this point. We are far from what reality is. We are hoping for blessing, but God is not in the mood for giving us any blessing. We are lucky not to receive loathing. We are in the position of consoling God, never asking for blessing. No matter what your life is now, easy or difficult, we are so blessed to be able to tread this path with Father, loving somebody whom you cannot love. We are giving the privilege of shedding tears together with Father. You must understand how hard Father worked to make this possible. In the family pledge, all seven pledges start with the same words. Unless our mind and body are closely united, we are not in a po~ition to legitimately recite this pledge. [In English: home country, home town are connected to home country, home world, home cosmos.] [Col. Han reads Pledge number one: We families, centered on true love, pledge to restore our hometowns and establish the original ideal of creation, which is the Kingdom of God on earth and in Heaven.] We have to create this; no one will create it and give to us. Existing Christians say to believe and go to Heaven. Heaven is empty; without a family we cannot go to Heaven. We have to create our Heaven. Father taught us the essential ingredients in order to make Heaven. So, we should engrave into our mind, that we can recite this pledge only after we restore our family. But, first, we must restore our mind and body. Second is husband and wife. Third is parents and children. Upon completing these three, we can start reciting this pledge. Every day, when you pray, recite this pledge. The second pledge is about restoration history. [Col. vertical meaning. Until now, human being has never dedicated or attended. This is what Jesus could not do, and that was his regret. [Father draws a diagram.] The family seed drops down and multiplies to many families, horizontally; the race, nation, world, and cosmos. The family is the center of all other criteria. Kingdom of Heaven on earth, and Kingdom of Heaven in heaven. Since the family is what we are, our family and others ’ families are essentially the same. Adam’ s family was the root family. No matter where your family might be, God will descend down in the same way. So, we are all the same: your family is the same as perfected Adam and Eve’s family. The world does not have that concept. We think that we are the representative family in our nation. You must think that if you are one of 2.5 billion people, you represent all of mankind. Not only the present, but the past as well. The second pledge emphasizes that we should abide by the law of earth and the law of the palace in heaven. Until now, there were no filial sons and daughters, not representing entire parenthood. There are a few saints, but there is not even the concept of the holy son. So, our task is what Jesus could not fulfill: to create Heaven on earth and in Heaven also. Not just the individual but all the different levels. Not just Abel but Cain also. [Col. Han reads the third pledge: We families, centered on true love, pledgeto establish the Four Great Realms of Heart, the Three Great Kingships, and the Realm of the Royal Family.] Three kingships : the grandfather represents God; Adam and Eve are kings and queens of all families. Not just Adam and Eve’s family, but your family: your father represents all the kings in the world. That’s what God has been missing. He had Adam and Eve and Cain and Abel but no one in the grandson’ s position. God was able to love children, but never the grandchildren. Adam and Eve could not even love their children. Grandchildren are the ones who receive parents love and grandparents love: two generations. To receive the grandfather’ s love means to receive God’ s love. Obviously, the grandchildren are the ones who receive love the most. Grandchildren are the most loved on earth. The realm of royal family in short means restored mankind (Cain’ s blood); and only by become one with Abel’s blood. When they become one, together they can get into the Kingdom of Heaven. You are already in the realm of the royal family . [Col. Han reads the fourth pledge: We families, centered on true love, pledge to form one great family on the cosmic level, God’s original ideal of creation, and to establish the world of freedom, peace and happiness.] The meaning is in essence to become one great family. People speak about the “global village”. Now, we have a new concept: “global family”. Happiness must be felt in families and among families. Since our blessed families are members of one family, wherever we go in the world, we can lodge. Now is the time to compete: which family can accommodate the most number of families. What a contrast this is compared to present American families: you must call before you visit. Even in Korean culture, which is still in the fallen realm, your uncle can walk in any time without notice. At dinner, they will immediately serve you. American families are like sand, individualistic. Korean families are like a rock. The individualistic way is not heavenly way. [Col. Han read pledge number five : We families, centered on true love, pledge to strive forward every day in order to unify the subject spiritual word and the object physical world.] The subject world is the spirit world, where God resides. We reside in the object world. Every day we should try hard to bring unity between the two. Every living thing must advance: greater development. Until now, people never thought seriously about the spirit world. We must pay keen attention to spirit world. We have to create excitement which results in better development. [Col. Han reads the sixth pledge: We families, centered on true love, and representing God and True Parents, pledge to establish families which will mobilize heavenly destiny in order to transmit Heaven’ s blessings to others.] Representing True Parents’ family, our family will stimulate other families. Heaven has a certain destiny: in this way, we transmit heaven’s blessing to other families. [Col. Han reads the seventh pledge: We families , centered on true love, pledge to establish the

world of shimjung culture by maintaining our connection to the original blood lineage.] This generally refers to a new culture, heartistic culture. We do that by connecting to True Parents’ original lineage. That means that we will eradicate the old culture. We will only promote Father’s culture. The essence of it all is the family. If we cannot form an ideal family, we cannot make any connection with Heaven. To achieve this, make your family perfectly united with True Parents’ family and God. This involves an enormous amount of effort into educating our own children. For Americans this is conceptual at best. But it is not a dream. You must go through lots of tribulations as holders of the individualistic way of life. In American families, everything is equal, horizontal. But, the four position foundation has a center. The one oriental nation which preserved most closely the original four position foundation is the Korean nation; (Japanese is similar but not the same.) Confucianism started in China, but bore fruit in Korea. Thee is a clear respect for the elder, as well as appreciation of beauty of the younger. Also, Buddhism started in India, but bore fruit in Korea. Christianity’s essence was brought forth in Korea. In the Shilla period, it was the time of Confucianism. During the Koryo period, it was Buddhism. Now, Christianity is leading. All three are there. Realistically, does any American family live serving the grandparents’ generation? It is very rare. They don’t understand why the grandfather is important. We must re-educate them and go through a lot of tribulation. In essence, today, Father spoke about the family. Man needs women. So, that is our conclusion. We are not going after money, but perfection of our family. There, we can be guaranteed happiness. It is about time for Father to leave. The mission characteristics of the Completed Testament Age is not to restore and bring forth all the broken families. No, but rather the more pure families: pure virgin boys and girls, give them the blessing. We must understand why Satan has been so adamant in pulling young people into perishment. Satan knows that the Lord of the Second Advent will save pure boys and girls. Adam and Eve fell as teenagers. Now, is the harvest time. So, Satan is trying to fulfill his objective. Today, if we don’t protect young people, they will have the same destiny as Adam and Eve; they will be expelled from the Garden of Eden. So, we have to go quickly about and grasp all the pure young people and prevent them from perishing. This is our urgent task. By turning them to a Godly direction, we can save them. This is the purpose and the mission of UTS training. It is your mission to uphold what Father says. You represent a leader to save the nation. We have to truly dedicate for this noble cause. Amen!
