Oct. 10th Santiago – Hirotaka Otsuka Santiago is the second city of Dominican Republic, at 155 km (2 hours) from the Capital. We gathered at 18:00 in the city hall conference room to start the program, but had a blackout due to a strong lightning discharge which damaged the system. There was no generator there, plus very heavy rain over the city, so we thought nobody was able to come. But even in middle of rain, 20 people showed up. Then we decided with a very strong determination to start the conference with candles. Hirotaka also agreed to do it with candles. We prepared many candles at the auditorium. The MC was just standing at the podium to Hirotaka Nim During the Speech welcome everyone when electricity returned. A respected local religious leader gave the welcoming address to participants, followed by Rev. Kwak’s introductory message read by a local member leader.
