Songwriting Workshop for Young Adults in New York City this Summer

Hello! My name is Sunhwa, 2nd generation in NY. I’m so excited to announce that we are hosting our SECOND-ever songwriting workshop for young adults in New York City this summer. Last year, we were able to get together 12 young adults from all over the country and write amazing original songs! We performed them in a concert and really experienced God in a whole new way. Our mission is to create an artistic, constructive, and supportive space for young adults to inspire the writing and sharing of original songs.

Being in NYC has been a blessing - we were able to work with Manhattan Center Studios and 43rd St, and could experience the incredible music and culture surrounding us. But, as you probably know, it’s quite expensive to run a workshop in the city even with the help of the amazing community. Lodging, food, venue, activities, and travel are just a few things we have to be sure to take of so that the wonderful participants can focus on the creation of their songs.

Hello! We are so excited to announce t hat we are preparing for the SECOND-EVER Original Song Project workshop t his A ugust. This is a week-long immersion p rogram t arget ing young adu lt Unificationist musicians & friends ages 18 - 40 interested in songwriting, located in the heart of Manhatta n. O ur m ission is to create an artistic, constructive, and supportive space for young adults, to inspire t he writing and shari ng of original songs. At t he conclusion of the workshop, the goal is t o have every part ic ipant compose at least one f ull orig inal song, presented at an open concert for family and friends.

Last year, we had an incredible success with 12 yo ung musicians of va rying levels c reat ing d iverse a nd beautif ul songs. Through the help of our extended community, we were able to put together a f ull concert w ith all of our original songs w ritten from t hat week. We we re stunned by the result. We want to elevat e t he experience t his year and are now inviting back songwriter Joe Young to help lead th is year’s wor kshop for t he f ull week. He has a passion and tale nt for songwrit ing and storytelling, and is the fou nder and past o r of The Liv ing Room M inist r)I. W it h his guidance, we know that there wi ll be an incredib le result. But we need your help.

In order to make this wo rkshop accessible to young adu lts and keep t he costs down to a minimum, w hile creating a ric h experience in New Yor k City, we need t o ra ise f unds! Any support is greatly appreciat ed and w ill go directly towards creating an experience t hat empowers young songwriters, and t he creat ion of songs.

W e want to p rovide schola rships for those who need to t ravel t o New York C ity o r ca nnot cover t he f ull wo rks hop f ee ($600 per person for 1 week in New Yo rk C it y). Your donations w ill go towards financial help t o t hose w ho are passionate about songwriting but need su pport.
