6TH ANNUAL HOLY SONG COMPOSITION CONTEST Are you a songwriter wanting to spread the culture of heart? Submit your holy song to the Hyo Jeong Cultural Center’s 6th Holy Song Composition Contest. Deadline: Sunday, December 12, 2021

CONTEST REQUIREMENTS: • All songs must have been composed within the last 1 year (one year prior to the starting date of this competition). Songs that have been submitted previously cannot be resubmitted.

• All styles of music genre are accepted. The lyrics must represent the teachings of True Parents in regards to Hyo Jeong culture and the culture of heart such as true love, one family under God, world peace, filial devotion, living for the sake of others, themes that praise and love Heavenly Parent, themes about nature created by Heavenly Parent, lyrics about True Parents, about the Four Realms of Heart, love between husband and wife, children’s love for parents/love among siblings, songs that align with the new era of Cheon Il Guk, creating a heavenly culture, one world of peace, affirmation of faith, the Only Begotten Daughter. e.g.

• Any registered member of FFWPU can participate.

CONTEST GUIDELINES:

1. Purpose: • Compile new holy songs that express the culture of heart and the values of Cheon Il Guk, and create music for the Cheon Ji Sun Hak Won

• Cultivate the spirit of True Parents’ culture of heart, Hyo Jeong Culture

• Promote holy songs through creative musical initiatives focused on holy songs

• Discover, recognize and help musically and artistically gifted members

2. Judging of Songs • The judges will be looking for songs that evoke a sense of peace, happiness and deep heart, together with an artistic combination of lyrics and melody.

• The judges will examine if the lyrics represent the teachings of True Parents.

3. Prizes 1. Gold prize (1 Winner): 500,000 Won

2. Silver prize (2 Winners): 300,000 Won

3. Bronze prize (3 Winners): 200,000 Won

4. Participation award (5 Winners): 100,000 Won

• Consideration for Entry in the Cheon Il Guk Holy Song Book, and music for the Cheonji Sunhakwon

5. Submission MUST include: 1. Application form (imperative; refer to attached document, must be filled out exactly in the way requested or the submission will not be accepted)

2. Sheet Music with chords or Lead sheet with chords

3. Music file (MP3, m4a, etc.) it does not have to be a final produced version of the song, it can be a cell phone recorded video or home video.

4. Translations of lyrics into Korean, Japanese and English. Each translation must be separated according to their language (submission will not be accepted if they are not translated)

• If you need help finding someone to translate your song into Korea or Japanese, please email us at info@cultureofheart.org. We cannot guarantee help but we can try to connect you with someone who can translate.

7. How to Submit Entries • Please submit each entry in an email to info@cultureofheart.org. We will organize the entries and send it to the Hyo Jeong Music Sub-Committee in Korea.

• Type ‘CIG HS Competition [full name],’ with the full sender’s name in the email subject heading

• All submitted lyrics must be in three languages of Korean, Japanese, and English.

○ *If you do not have the resources or contacts to translate your song in Korean or Japanese, please contact our team at info@cultureofheart.org.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: • Any material submitted for consideration may be added to the existing canon of holy songs. Winning songs are considered to be candidates for Holy Song designation. Copyright for all submitted material remains the property of the authors and composers, however authors and composers must agree to allow their winning entries to be used for any FFWPU/ Heavenly Parent Holy Communion Church purposes or activities; concerts, videos, songbooks and recordings without reservation. Winning songs will also be uploaded to the Holy Song Compilation website (which is currently under construction) and Holy Song Compilation YouTube Channel. The winners will be expected to prepare the lyrics and scores for them to be uploaded to the website for others to have access.
