WFWP South London, UK - Supporting Macmillan Cancer Nurses

“Cancer changed my life for the better’’ Sumaira mentioned in her testimony on Saturday afternoon for the fundraising event to Support the Macmillan

Cancer Nurses. “Cancer has been a good thing for me, making me realise what is important in my life.” Sumaira said, we need to take care of our loved ones more and not take them for granted.

Thirty ladies attended the Afternoon Tea in our Hall.

A video from cancer patients explained what they went through and the help they received from nurses supported by Macmillan. Also a nurse explained the work they do and their recovery package plan for every patient.

After tea and refreshments there were games to participate in and prizes to be won. Sumaira won the first prize in guessing how many sprinkles there were on the back of a Colin the Caterpillar cake.

Rawinder won the second prize in placing a Cherry on a gateau blind folded. They also played other games which helped them get together more.

After the 18 months of lockdown, all the ladies had a very enjoyable afternoon with lots of opportunity to talk and share. £250 were raised for Macmillan nurses.
