Support Historic Barrytown Property - We Need At Least $1.2 Million

Happy Memorial Day! I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I don’t really know where to begin, other than saying thank you. I am extremely grateful for all the support whether it was signing the petition or sending me or BCSF, messages of encouragement. There has been a lot of effort in the past several months to develop a comprehensive plan on how we could take responsibility over the Barrytown property. And by sharing these plans, we have been able to successfully postpone the sale of the property several times, which has been amazing. However, the time has come, when the UTS board will have to meet and make a final decision on which way to go this Friday June 2nd.
The reality is that the Barrytown property has been a financial burden on UTS for over a decade, and they no longer have a use for the property. It would be in their best interest to sell the property to secure funding for their ongoing educational programs in NYC. And for HSA, it would be a substantial risk to take responsibility over the property, especially given its current financial crisis.
Although we gathered a solid property management team that is willing to work on this project, we need financial support to cover the deficit over the next year and a half before breaking even and making the property sustainable. So that the UTS board and HSA see this management team as a viable option. We also need to have extra funds available to take on any sudden capital improvement projects that may occur given the old age of the building. For this, we need at least $1.2M.
That is why we are turning to you, our community, our supporters, and our friends. We believe in the power of collective action, in the ability of a group of passionate individuals to come together and achieve the seemingly impossible. Today, we ask you to make a pledge - a contribution that you are willing to put down to not only support the Barrytown property but also symbolize your commitment to preserving the essence of our community.
No amount is too small, and every dollar counts. For those planning on attending this year’s Blessed Culture Sports Festival, if we can keep the property, you can use your BCSF registration fees as part of fulfilling your pledge.
Please, consider this heartfelt plea. Join us in this last-ditch effort to save the Barrytown property. For those who are not attending this is a chance to support the future generation for attending events at the Barrytown Property. If in the end the property does get sold, you will not be asked to uphold your pledge. However if the decision is made to keep the property we do need to know when you will be donating the amount you pledged.
To make your pledge please fill out this form: docs.google,com/…/1FAIpQLSep2vlSP1Wig0…/viewform

The goal is to raise $1.2 million, any pledge amount will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you from the depths of my and our hearts for your unwavering support, for your belief in the power of community, and for your commitment to keeping the spirit of the Barrytown property alive.
Together, we can make a difference.
