We hope everyone had a great Foundation Day. The time has come to prepare for our GPA Families Workshop – an experience not to be missed! This letter is our invitation to all families (parents and siblings) to come join the GPA Families Workshop at Estes Park YMCA in Colorado, from the evening of Friday, April 12th, until the afternoon of Sunday, April 14th.

The GPA Families workshop officially begins at 8pm, after dinner on Friday, April 12th and ends at 1 pm after lunch on Sunday, April 14th. The workshop experience will include: presentations, testimonies, entertainment, activities and quality time for families to spend together. More details of the schedule will be sent out as we get closer to the date.

The total estimated cost per person (provided you lodge in a room of 5) comes down to about $120 per person for the entire workshop:

- 2 nights and 5 meals = $90 payable directly to the YMCA

- 2 light lunches provided by GPA = $10

- 2-way shuttle from Denver International airport provided by GPA = $20

Flights and transportation:

Please plan to fly into Denver Intl’ Airport (DEN) on Friday between 11 am and 5pm. For returning flights, please try to fly out on Sunday any time after 4pm. It is an hour and half drive from the airport to the YMCA. Provided you can fly in or out within these times GPA will offer a shuttle service to and from the Denver Airport in order to make this trip as affordable as possible for everyone (we will ask you for $10 per trip to cover gas and toll with discounts for families). Once you have booked your flight please send us the information (info@generationpeaceacademy.org) so we can facilitate pick up and drop off. If you cannot fly in or out within these times we will let you know if we can meet you, depending on workshop schedule – options are to use the Shuttle service ($45/ person) or rent a car.

Accommodations and meals:

Accommodations at Estes Park YMCA are very clean and comfortable. The basic rate is $45.00 per day per person when a group of 5 people stay in a room (see costs below for 2-4 per room), with that you will be served 2 great meals in the dining room – breakfast and dinner. The meals are great quality and plentiful (buffet style). A simple and light lunch will be prepared in the Lecture Hall where our workshop will take place. GPA asks for a $5 donation to cover the lunch.

To make reservations:

Rooms will sleep up to a total of 5 adults or children.

If you wish to share a room with fewer people the prices are as follows.

All prices include 2 nights lodging and 5 meals from dinner Friday 4/12 – to lunch on Sunday 4/14

2 Adults – one room, $143.00 per person

3 Adults – one room, $113.34 per person

4 Adults – one room, $98.50 per person

5 Adults – one room, $89.60 per person

Children 12 and under will receive a discounted price.

To benefit from the best room rate, try to find 4 other people you can share a room with. If you are unable to find those people on your own, you can submit your info to Marjorie Swenson (Marjorie_swenson@yahoo.com) from the Parents Association and she can help to coordinate room sharing.

In each case one person from each room needs to contact the YMCA to make the reservation and pay in full, and then be reimbursed by those he/she is sharing with.

Rooms can be reserved by visiting the following link:

or by telephone to Central Reservations at (888) 613-9622 and refer to the group name HSA-UWC #2 2013. The YMCA also has a variety of cabins, so you could call them up to enquire about renting a whole cabin. If you would like to come earlier or stay longer, please make your reservation on-line first for the dates of the event. Then call to add additional night or meals to your existing reservation. Please have your reservation number handy.

Every effort is being made to keep the costs of this workshop at a minimum, and we know that financial demands are always high for Unificationist families. We are confident that this will be an extremely worthwhile and eternal investment for your family. From our experience we have seen that GPA members deeply appreciate their parents’ attendance and involvement as an expression of love and commitment to their success in the program. The YMCA is legendary, situated in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, the views are spectacular, it will be well worth the trip.

Please direct any questions to Thanh Le.

God Bless you and your families; we look forward to meeting you in Colorado!
