I sang at Hyo Jin Moon's Blessing at Belvedere, January 7, 1982

I had a taste of a peach today after a 2 year diet on keto. It brought back a vivid memory of a beautiful peach dress loaned to by Keiko Foss to perform at the wedding of our dear elder brother’s first blessing; Hyo Jin Nim to Nan Sook [Hong]Nim in Main House Library at Belvedere.

I was never ambitious to be a soloist but the circumstance was there was no other person available. Rev Song and beloved [Jong Goo] “Tiger” Pak auditioned me, I sang the blessing song Grace of the Holy Garden and Sunrise Sunset, from Fiddler On the Roof.

They both chose Sunrise Sunset. Kerry Williams our NHSI accompanist accompanied me on the piano outside the library of the ceremony. This was never documented in our church history.

True Father asked what was that song as it was not traditional for our blessings. Many elders congratulated me. To me it was very significant as the song was about the blessing ceremony within the Jewish tradition from the parents view.

I think often about that opportunity that I was given. It connects me to Hyo Jin nim, his course and efforts to restore historical Eve.

I can only feel gratitude.
