One Million Rally for Korea: We are approaching the settlement of a unified Korea

I would like to express my gratitude to True Mother for hosting this historic and providential conference with eighty-five current or former heads of state from seventy nations among the 157 nations with diplomatic ties to the two Koreas.

I felt strongly that we are indeed approaching the settlement of not only a heavenly unified Korea, but also a heavenly unified world, with one family of humankind under the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind.

During his welcoming speech, summit co-chair Ban Ki-moon stressed that it is the responsibility and obligation of all the world’s nations and people to embrace the value of the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula and promote peace to open a bright future for the world.

In their congratulatory messages, Hyeong-jun Pak, mayor of Busan, Cheol-woo Lee, governor of North Gyeongsang Province and Sang-hae Shin, head of the Busan City Council offered positive support for a society of interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values as promoted by UPF and expressed their gratitude to True Parents for their work to promote peace.

The messages of the keynote speakers were clear.

Donald Trump, the former US president, spoke strongly about peaceful reunification on the Korean Peninsula, clarifying the worldwide situation and conveying the strong US national spirit as he called on all the people of the world to cooperate to support the peaceful unification of Korea.

Shinzo Abe, a two-time former Japanese prime minister, spoke of the need for efforts by North Korea and Japan to resolve issues and open dialog that can lead to the peaceful reunification on the Korean Peninsula.

Jim Rogers spoke of the tremendous opportunities that will arise if the thirty-eighth parallel is opened and the Korea–Japan undersea tunnel is connected to the world through the peace road, so that the Korean Peninsula can become a world transportation hub. The collective opinion of the keynote speakers was that we must face today’s crises as an opportunity and that the nations of world must work together to support the realization of a unified Korea.

In her special founder’s address, True Mother, in a clear voice, gave a message filled with her love for humanity, showing the way toward the day of victory. First, she spoke about the ideal of creation and the true character and identity of humankind.

Secondly, she spoke about the providential work of the only begotten son and only begotten daughter, grounded in the work of salvation. Third, she reflected on the past history of the chosen people, their current situation and about becoming Heavenly Parent’s children. Fourth, she made us aware of this age which is coming to an end, when we can attend True Parents while knowing Heavenly Parent. Fifth, she said we must be aware that in order to bring peaceful unification to the Korean Peninsula during this time, we must be completely united with True Parents. Sixth, since we are facing a time with worldwide problems, we must find our original nature and move forward to solve the problems together with a heart of hyojeong. Seventh, she said we have transformed the world like daffodils blooming in frozen ground. We will become filial sons and daughter to accomplish Heavenly Parent’s will, just as True Mother has instructed us.

In the heavenly nation of Gyeongsang, we participated in the One Million Rally for the Salvation of our Homelands from the Interburgo Hotel in Daegu, the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office Dongrakgwan Cultural Center, the South Gyeongsang CECO Convention Center and the Haeundae Green Narae Hotel in Busan. Each member brought guests.

My thanks to the international headquarters, under the leadership Director General Yun, for their impeccable logistical planning and boundless investment of energy.

We will give our best efforts to realize the vision of the Seoul Resolution.
