On January 12th, a memorial service at Paju Won and Won Jeon marked the 5th anniversary of Col. Bo Hi Pak’s Seonghwa and the 7th anniversary of Mrs. Yoon Ki Sook’s Seonghwa. Song Kwang-seok, President of the FFWPU Korea reflected, “True Parents, upon Col. Bo Hi Pak’s departure for missionary work in America, gave him the phrase ‘Flying Phoenix Achieves the Realm, Triumphing in All Endeavors.’ Let us emulate his example and live victorious lives without fear, frustration, or regret and leave a valuable legacy.”
Yang Chang-sik, Chairman of UPF International, shared (as read by Park Jung-hyun), “Col. Bo Hi Pak, a revered elder brother and pioneer of the Unification family and a ‘loyal and filial subject,’ devotedly served the True Parents all his life, exemplifying absolute loyalty and obedience.” He noted, “Col. Pak, playing a crucial role behind the scenes, influenced world leaders like Gorbachev, Reagan, Thatcher, and President Kim Il-sung, and was instrumental in ending the Cold War. He was a proud Korean and a patriot, a true treasure for both our church and our nation. Let us move forward to victory, fulfilling the heavenly providence until we plant the unification flag on Mount Baekdu, under Col. Pak’s watchful eye from the spirit world with True Father.”
The memorial service, led by Koji Noda of the Universal Cultural Foundation, included an opening prayer by Senior Pastor Kim Seok Jin, a welcome address by President Park No-hee, a floral tribute by Little Angels Alumni representatives, commemorative speeches by Song Kwang-seok and Yang Chang- sik, FFWPU-Korea Vice President Kim Do Yon, and concluding cheers of Oeg Mansei by Cho Man- woong, Chairman of the Elders’ Association.
