Participants at an International Leadership Conference
Welcome! Dear ILC Participants,
Welcome to this special International Leadership Conference (ILC), sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation, and convened on April 28-29, 2018 in Vienna, Austria. The theme for the ILC is “Toward Interdependence and Mutual Prosperity: the Role ofReligi, ous Leaders and Parliamentarians.” The ILC will feature two special projects recently launched by U PF: the Internacional Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) and the lmerreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD).
A highly selective group of delegates from Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa, Oceania and the Far East are in attendance, including members of parliaments, religious leaders, women leaders, and civil society leaders. We believe that the participation of high level representatives from over 40 nations will assure its success.
The Universal Peace Federation was founded by Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hale Ja Han Moon. UPF’s founding vision is rooted in universal spiritual and moral principles that apply to all areas of human endeavor, including the family, society, government, religion, business, academia, media, arts, and sports.
With this in mind, the ILC provides a golden opportunity for us to come together as an international and interreligious group ofleaders from various sectors to reflect on the ways we might each contribute to building a nation and a world of lasting peace.
A significant feature of the program will be the launch of the lnterreligious Association for Peace and D evelopment (IAPD) in Europe and the Middle East. All participants will then be invited as honored guests to attend the “Peace Starts with Me” Festival chat will gather 10,000 people at the W iener Stadchalle, in Vienna.
