Today, our American Unification Family joins our British and worldwide community in sending our greetings and love to our beloved elder sister Doris Orme as she enters the Heavenly realm. Doris will always be remembered in the United States with affection and appreciation for her love and devotion to God, especially in those early years of our Unification movement. She was one of the very first people in the Western world to meet True Parents, joyfully and confidently spreading the new gospel of God’s coming kingdom. In every sense, she was a spiritual pioneer and our elder sister, and we will miss her. We offer our sincere prayers and condolences to Dennis, Donna, and all the family.

Though in later years our paths diverged quite widely, the Scriptures remind us that even when we frail human beings neglect our duty to love, thank and appreciate each other, God will never, ever forget our sincere work for heaven, in this world or the next. “God is not unjust,” says Hebrews 6:10 “He will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”

Though the last days of Doris’ earthly life were a time of trial, today should be seen as a happy day, a day of liberation, not the end but a new beginning. Before his own ascension in 2012, True Father, Rev. Moon often reminded us that, just as the baby in the womb cannot comprehend the enormity of this earthly world, we also struggle to understand that life in the spirit world is vast and glorious beyond our imagination:

“The moment we enter the spirit world should be a time that we enter a world of joy and victory with the fruits born of our lives on earth. It is a time for those of us remaining on earth to send off the departed with joy. It should be a time for great celebration. We should be shedding tears of joy instead of tears of sadness as the spirit of the departed takes toward enjoying eternal life in attendance of God, within His embrace.”

Dear Doris, our elder sister, as you leave us now and step forward now into this glorious and final phase of your journey to oneness with God, our Heavenly Parent, please know our American family movement is praying for you and offering you our love and gratitude!
