Dear Sisters and Friends
On a daily basis, the attention of the world is drawn to the Africa, as well as to the involvement of the United States in that part of the world. The plight of black women in the United States and around the world continues to demonstrate the need for change and for our communities to work together. Women’s Federation for World Peace in partnership with the Africana Institute at Essex County College and the African New Hope Association, believe that the United States is in a unique position to affect positive change for women in the world and the healing and unity of the women of Africa and the African Diaspora to play a central role in the realization of these changes. This event is being co-sponsored by Newark’s African Commission, Mother Sage, Inc. and a host of other institutions.
The Ceremony of Sisterhood is an event bringing the hearts and energy of women together in healing, friendship and a celebration of love through the crossing of the Bridge of Peace, a signature project of the Women’s Federation for World Peace. The program is designed to commemoration of International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month and Black History Month. The program is entitled, “The Essential Role of Black Women in Creating Peace.”
