Mutsuko “Julie” Moore, a beloved mother of three and sister to the [ Seeall ] 0 Seetop NYC community, was admitted to the hospital after a serious asthma attack in December. After suffering from irreparable brain damage caused by the attack, the family made the decision to let her free and to move on in peace. Mutsuko passed away peacefully on January 2nd, 2022, at 62 years old. She leaves behind her husband Mark Moore, her three children Nina Moore, Lisa Moore, and Matthew Moore, and Bitzi the cat.

We are asking for your support for her family as they mourn her passing.

Mutsuko Moore was born June 12, 1959, in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan. She grew up in the countryside with her two older brothers, mother, father, and grandmother. In her youth she enjoyed cooking with her grandma, playing volleyball, and walking through nature. When her mother passed at a young age, her stepmother raised her. She joined the Unification Church as an adult and came to the United States, meeting people all over the country and expanding her life of faith through fund raising. She then married at Madison Square Garden in 1989 and had three children in New York City.

Mutsuko was an extrovert at heart- lighting up everyone’s life with her presence. She was always extremely kind and friend ly to everyone she met, whether that be at work, at church, strangers on the street. She loved meeting new people- New York w as t ruly her place to make as many connections and friends as she could. Her favorite things included nature- taking walks in Prospect Park and Gr eenwood Cemetery, taking pictures of flowers, swans, cute dogs, and of passersby. She was a great cook and always made delicious meals, bento boxes and food made with love for her children and friends. Mutsuko eventually found a love for calligraphy- and gave paintings to people that inspired them to love, find peace, joy, God, and healing. She was a great mother who loved her children unconditionally, anything they decided to do in life she supported, treating them with kindness and love. Mutsuko loved to crack jokes and make everyone laugh, and was happiest when others were happy. Her mission in life was to make everyone she met her brother and sister, and she achieved it. Mutsuko lived life to the fullest, always thinking of others before herself, and jumped on every opportunity to spread joy and help other people- her loving presence will be deeply missed.
