November 1997 RFK Stadium Blessing Campaign, Japanese Sisters and hot Vietnamese soup

It was 24 years ago that I flew from San Francisco to Washington DC to help support the RFK Stadium Blessing Festival Campaign.

On the flight over, I caught this nasty cold. By the next day, it was blooming. I was to be there for 2 weeks. I had already committed myself to doing whatever I was needed to do, despite feeling miserable.

I was assigned a team of Japanese Sisters, given a van to drive and off we went to our area. After dropping the sisters off, I found a parking lot and prayed, asking for God’s guidance. Then I looked up and saw a Vietnamese Restaurant.

I felt like God telling me to go get a big bowl of hot Vietnamese noodle soup, which I did. I put so much extra hot spicy stuff in the soup that the sweat started dripping everywhere. Two hours later, the cold was gone!

Of course maybe it was the unconditional love that these wonderful Japanese sisters showed me that crushed that cold. My overall experience at the RFK Campaign was wonderful. I thank God and True Parents that I could make my small offering. Aju!
