The Origin and the Foundation of Our Faith is to Serve True Parents

Dear leaders respected, first of all thank you for offering your lives by working for True Parents, ready to live and die for them (in their place - 代身者), who received the direction from heaven, and devoting your life to create Cheon Il Guk. It seems like yesterday, but there are now five years that True Father went to the spiritual world. There is no place in the universe that True Father has not touched or for which he has not shed blood and tears. Where we went, with each step, it is his love and his heart that we followed. We remember how he led providence until his last breath, day and night, abusing his Holy Body only for the dream of the Heavenly Parent’s salvation of humanity and world peace. To provide True Father as object of glory, True Mother, as True Mother of all humanity, offered a period of tribute to True Father that all humanity should have offered; for three years, she offered this fervor instead of humanity. The True Mother gave us the heart of filial piety, hyo jeong, True Parents prepared by God.

They have been begging us to become the light of the hyo jeong for the world. She constantly moves toward the day of the establishment of Cheon Il Guk. On the fourth anniversary of the Seonghwa of True Father, as a reflection of the true meaning of the Seonghwa, True Mother asked to be called the Seonghwa Festival. With the ‘Festival of harmony and unity’ established by True Mother, the entire Unification Movement could unite in expressing love and forgiveness for each other. On this fifth anniversary of the Seonghwa, on the basis of the period of contemplation of True Mother, True Father in heaven and True Mother on Earth have joined at the cosmic level, and gave us the grace of the blessing of the marriage and the precious benediction of the Seonghwa.

Having attended the True Parents my whole life, I’ve lived this truth: True Father and True Mother live totally in the service of the Heavenly Parent. That is why today, despite my shortcomings, I want to talk to you prominent leaders of Cheon Il Guk in attendance. Cheon Il Guk, ultimately, is a universal family where we can serve the Heavenly Parent and True Parents. Beloved leaders! What does attendance mean? I had the honor to serve True Parents my whole life and I now also know them. Providentially, I stayed with them longer than anyone else and I’ve lived a life of diligence. But to be quite honest, there are still so many things I don’t know about their lives. It is that the concept of service that it is not I who am served but the other. In a family, for example, if we diligently serve our parents, if the parents are uncomfortable, the service is not good.

Here, the origin and the Foundation of our Faith is to serve True Parents. For me, it’s a constant and continuous state of tension. Attendance with True Parents is endless; It never stops. Even here, where I speak, I think that all our senses converge True Parents, True Mother. To me, to serve is to put True Parents at ease. This Principle has not changed since I started to serve True Parents in East Garden until today. It is a principle etched in me; it is my attitude and motivation to serve True Parents. After having

received the blessing and gave birth to my son, before being completely restored, I followed the True Parents in Korea. I left newborn when he was thirty-eight days old. I left him in the hands of my husband. Pushing my bruised heart, I followed the True Parents.

On the death of my in-laws, I could not attend their funerals, and could not, literally, shed a tear. The reason I could live this life of service was this tradition of attendance set by True Parents for the Heavenly Parent. It is the tradition of hyo jeong I learned. For the sole purpose of releasing the Heavenly Parent, the True Parent of the universe; to find the parental position lost at the fall; to save humanity blind and ignorant, who stumbles at the brink of death; and bring them into the fold of the Heavenly Parent — for this ideal — for leading orphaned humanity, and to follow the path of salvation True Parents overcame unimaginable events.

We have seen this life of sacrifice and true love and we know to have seen. So many things have happened, but I’ll give you two examples. One day, True Mother said that a parent had to go to visit the school of their youngest daughter. The school had made a request a few days previously. One of the parents must come. So, True Mother had to go to the school. However, in the early morning, True Father said to True Mother: “today, I have to go to South America for providence, so hurry, packing and let’s go.”

True Mother said calmly to True Father: “there is a problem at the school about our youngest daughter, I have to go there today. Her teacher asked us to come. So, I’m going to do then take a flight in the afternoon.”

At that point, True Father spoke from the heart of humanity and the heart for heaven and the human path and the path of heaven. Very strongly, he spoke from the heart of humanity and heart of heaven! Someone had the task the youngest daughter’s problem. True Father said that True Mother had to go to South America with him for the providence of heaven. Seeing this, my heart has hurt as I looked at the expression of True Mother. She buried her tears in her heart, buried this pain; without expressing anything. She then packed and went to South America with True Father.

Here’s something else that goes back to December 1990. True Parents offered a special Hawaii devotion. Then True Father said that he would be in a very cold place for a week, and that he had to prepare winter outfits. They offered devotions in Hawaii by pouring blood, sweat and tears. Hawaii was the route that took them to Beijing and then to Pyongyang.

Without even know whatever it is, I am ready and I followed the True Parents. Then, when we boarded the special private plane sent to North Korea, that morning, True Father took True Mother’s hand and offered a special prayer. True Father prayed for this visit to the North, where his life was at stake. God! If we leave now, I don’t know if we will stay alive. On hearing this prayer next to them, I got really scared. True Father, who had decided to go to North Korea even without knowing if he would come back alive, took the hand of True Mother, whom he loved so much and has boarded the plane private from Beijing to Pyongyang. At that time, I had two kinds of tears: tears of fear and tears of joy. That is how we arrived at Pyongyang.

It was the day where they spoke in front of the people’s Assembly of of Mansudae. The North Korea had sent us its demands and told US not to mention God or religion at any price. But no one could stop True Father. For at the outset, True Father spoke about God and discussed the ideology of Juche, the Dieuisme and the headwing thought. He spoke very loudly. The entourage at the time - the president Hwang Yeop Ju was here also - we all thought, Oh, it’s over for us! We’re all dead. . We were so scared. One person, True Mother, firmly holding the hand of True Father, encouraged him saying that he had done well and patted him Assemblée Populaire de de Mansudae on the back.

With his absolute faith, absolute confidence and his absolute love for True Father, I saw the attendance of True Mother backstage. Especially after the universal Seonghwa of True Father, carrying the heavy weight of providence on her shoulders, she gave the message: “Until the last day of my life, we will go forward with the establishment of Cheon Il Guk in this country.” Pushing the limits her body, moving without interruption. She is the perfect example of a life of extreme to serve the Heavenly Parent.

After the universal Seonghwa of True Father, instead of going out to mankind, she offered three years of grief and contemplation and gave the hyo jeong as the light of the world and hoped that we would be the hope of the world. It was the life of True Mother, and the model of the hyo jeong for the Heavenly Parent we need to pursue.

This True Parent, this True Mother, told us: “Join me and establish Cheon Il Guk on this earth to fulfill the wish that the Heavenly Parent has longed for since creation.”

If we are true children of True Parents, we must respond. Should we say: True Parents need to follow their path and we will follow ours? No. We should say: “we will inherit the dream of True Parents, their vision, their hearts to follow way together.” After six thousand years, True Parents began the miraculous Springtime of the Principle.

Finally, here’s a point I mentioned at the last meeting of the leaders of Cheon Il Guk. I would like to share this story again now that there is little time for the great task of Korean national restoration. In France, there was a very well known Acrobat by the name of Charles Blondin. In 1859, as an unknown Acrobat, he put an ad in the New York Times. In the announcement, he said that he would walk on a tightrope over Niagara Falls. These falls are about 335 meters wide, is the size of four football pitches. The height is a 16 floor building. Water pours down the colossal flow of 2,500 liters per second. It’s a great fall. Assuming he would fail, people came from all over to see this unknown Acrobat. Before you start walking on the rope, Charles shouted: “how many of you think that I can continue on this rope and through the fall. The crowd showed its faith with a roar of applause.

Charles succeeded crossed the historic Niagara Falls on a tightrope. But he did not stop there. He said: “how many of you believe me to be able to walk this rope with my eyes blindfolded or on a unicycle? The crowd was enthusiastic and he managed to cross on a unicycle and then with eyes blindfolded. Finally, Charles asked the crowd: “how many of you believe me capable of carrying a person on the back? Many people shouted: ‘’ Yes. ‘’ Then Charles asked: “so, who would like to get on my back?” Suddenly, the crowd calmed down, nobody came.

Finally, Charles closest friend, who had watched the scene, Henry Colcord, said he would go on Charles’ back, and Charles traversed the tightrope. He was the first to cross Niagara Falls on a tightrope with someone on his back. You see the difference between confessing that you believe in someone by Word and truly believe in him. Many people said believe in Charles Blondin, but the only one to believe in him was his friend. The True Mother told us: ‘do you want to follow the path of the substantial achievement of Cheon he Guk with me?’ We have seen True Father. We observed True Mother.

We believe in the True Parents. But when the True Parents we ask: “will you follow me?” if we act instead of observing — with a simple profession of faith, the situation will change. Then we have no need of faith but believe and have a very strong motivation based on heart. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to follow this path. Many difficulties arise when you take the path to establish Cheon Il Guk and even greater difficulties may come. Meet these challenges with True Parents at the center and the root of your lives.

I hope you can all become people who are convinced of True Parents and concerned with their welfare, particularly as True Mother is on Earth and can guide the providence directly. Even now, True Mother pushes the limits of her body and does not sleep at night. I hope that if we are true children, we can help carry this burden and move forward. I think that this is the duty of a child. I pray that we can serve True Mother as our center and become true filial children who will progress continuously toward Cheon Il Guk.
