How I became a Unification Church Missionary in South America and Africa

I wanted to go out as missionary in 1975. Already as a child I felt inspired to go to Africa one day. So I volunteered right away. We even could decide to which part of the world we would like to go. I could not make up my mind between Africa or South America. But our national leader Rev. Paul Werner in Germany decided against it, because I had problems with my hip and had already undergone hip surgery.

This is my testimony how God works in our lives, because in my case I went to Africa and South America many years later. It happened through my husband, as he also volunteered in the United States to be a missionary and he was sent to Bolivia. Later he was sent to Gabon, West-Africa, where I joined him after our Blessing in 1982.

Our first son was born there. In 1995 my husband received a new mission in Uruguay, South America, to work for our newspaper company there. We moved our whole family there. It was the time when our True Parents lived there as well for a whole year and we could be with them many, many times.

God truly works in mysterious ways!
