If you build it they will come - My reflection on witnessing online

First, I give my thanks to True Mother, for sending us Dr. Chung Sik Yong. Dr. Yong has revolutionized my heart, mind, and soul through his Morning Devotion. I feel God’s heart far more than I ever felt before. God became more real in my life than I ever experienced before. Having said this, here is my testimony on how I witnessed online/Facebook to my spiritual son, Temple Ibekwe, from Nigeria. In one of Dr. Yong’s Morning Devotion, Dr. Yong spoke about how to witness people.

He said, that before we try to teach them the truth, Divine Principle, we must first build a “personal touch” with them. Dr. Yong’s advice is very true. The following is an example of how to witness on social media/Facebook, through personal touch. This is how my Facebook interaction started with a young man, Temple Ibekwe, from Nigeria. Our conversation started on December 14, 2020. I posted something on Facebook, about God and faith, and spoke about how faithful the Japanese people were to God, and Temple commented on my post and said something nice. I replied to his comment and said something nice about him, and he replied with nice words. He thanked me for accepting his friendship request and I thanked him back for wanting to be my Facebook friend.

Our conversation grew more and more, and we became closer to each other more and more. We exchanged photos of our families and Temple told me that his father was a Christian minister and had passed away about a year ago. He loved his dad and he loved God so much. Our relationship became so close, that Temple is now calling me dad. But here is the miracle. I knew Temple was very ready to hear the Divine Principle. I so was desperate to send Temple to a workshop. I was asking and searching online for our church center in Nigeria but had no luck. The only place I could find is the UPF office in a city that is so far away, 12-hour drive from where Temple lives. But here is an amazing miracle that blew my mind. One day, during Dr. Yong’s Morning Devotion, in the breakout room, I was put with Rev. Abayomi, a brother from Nigeria who lives in North Carolina.

I was so excited, and I told him about Temple and how desperate I was to send him to a workshop and asked if he knew of a workshop or a church center in Nigeria. Abayomi got so excited and said, “ Yes! Yes! There is a 7-day workshop starting tomorrow, tomorrow!!! Right away, after the morning devotion session, I called Temple and asked him to drop everything and go to this workshop. To encourage him, I sent him money to buy his bus ticket and send donation money to Pastor, Emmanuel Assam, the pastor who is doing the workshop in Nigeria, and everything was connected.

On March 10, Temple attended the workshop, and all the love and “personal touch” has been fulfilled! Temple was so moved by the Divine Principle teachings, and he is now in love with God and True Parents and has filled in the blessing application. Temple had attended Dr. Yong’s Morning Devotion and he also attended our state morning devotion, Praise God! God Is Real!!
