My father was my God

God is not only the creator, most powerful, most loving, and merciful God. God is also our parent. His love for us, human beings, is much more powerful than the love we receive from our parents.

A profound experience with my father, Mansour that I loved so very dearly. I was a filial son, my father was like my God. my father was my everything. However, back in 1981 during my visit to America, God led me through powerful dreams and an unexplained chain of coincidences that connected me to the unification movement, founded by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon.

I loved Rev. Moon’s teachings and decided to join the movement., And this is how the profound experience with my father happened. After 17 years in America, I returned to my country/parents for a short visit. on the day before my return back to America, my father and I were alone in the house. My father, lovingly, threw his arms around me and said, “Son, why can’t you stay with us, we’ve been missing you so badly, will you stay with us?”

As we were still holding each other, I looked at Photo of unknown Tunisian Man my father and said, “Father, there is nothing in this world more precious for me than you. But God had called me and I have to obey His will.” My father nodded his head, he began sobbing with tears…We hold each other tight as we were both crying. The End. Those were the last words I heard from my father before he passed away.

My father never judged me or tried to discourage me from being in the Unification movement. I will never forget those profound moments with my father, Mansour.
