God Plants Seeds in Our Life Journey

How God prepared his people for the Second Coming of Christ. The following is an experience God had me go through that later turned to be one of the strongest help in my decision to join our church.

One day a friend of mine, a Palestinian coworker, invited me to go with him to the famous, Hyde Park Speakers Corner, a place that people give talks on politics and religions. We listen to someone speaking about Palestinian-Israel issues, another was talking about African and slavery issues, yet another was speaking about Pakistan-India issues.

After about an hour and half listening to all these different topics, my friend and I decided to split, he went back to work and I had the day off, so I took my time and headed to Oxford street, very much like New York Fifth Avenue. As I was walking on the path, I saw a small pocket of people standing. And when I got to them, I saw a man had a small round table covered with a lace tablecloth and on the table there sit a thick book in brown leather covering.

As I stood with group listening, the man took the book and started waving it in his hand and said “ You think you are alive, but you are dead!’ Birds in the air are more alive than you!” He pointed to the high- rise building and said “You are no different than those buildings over there!” This statement got my full attention and it infuriated me. I said to myself “what is this guy talking about”, “what does he mean, we are dead? And we are no different than those building”?

I was livid. I had spent about two hours listening to different speakers, but none of them affected as this man’s statement had. He kept on repeating” yes, you are dead, even the birds in the air are more alive than you.” After a while, I walked away. I convinced myself that this guy was just another crazy person. However, I couldn’t forget what he said. It bothered for the rest of the day and it was engraved in my mind forever. Fast forward to the time I met our church and attended my first 2-day workshop.

As I held the Bible in my hands for the first time and read the verse with my own eyes, not a second later, I was zapped 35 years back, to the time of that strange man who infuriated me with is statement. I knew then, he was speaking of Rev. 3;1 that says “you have the reputation for being alive, but you are dead.” This is how God saws seeds in our life.
