A couple of weeks ago I was asked by the Television Metropol which is a Prague television station if I could give them a talk. They were preparing a program called Talks in the end of the world 2012.
This is connected to the prophesy of the Mayan calendar which foretells the end of the world on the 22nd December 2012. In the program they ask various famous people among scientists, politicians, artists, sportsmen etc. about their view of the Mayan prophecy.
In May we met and had a 30 minutes talk. I was introduced as the SG of the UPF. In my talk I received a lot of space to speak about UPF, our movement etc. From the very beginning I said that UPF was founded by Rev. and Mrs. Moon in 2005. This was very good because everything was clear from the very beginning and I could feel free to talk how I joined and why and how was the persecution in the former communist Czechoslovakia.
I mentioned that one sister Marie Zivna died in prison. This happened many years before the anticommunist movement Charter 77 came into existence. I said that Rev. Moon started an anticommunist movement in our country in the late 60s. Then I mentioned True Father’s activities against communism and his vision to make one family under God.
When the moderator asked me that many people say we are a sect I said that usually those who speak about others to be a sect are sect themselves. I could also show the Autobiography of True Father.
When the moderator asked me in the end about the end of the world I said that Rev. Moon is preparing a big gather of people in Korea on the 22nd February 2013 which he proclaimed as the Foundation Day. With this day a new era will start. The talk ended in this optimistic way.
The talk was broadcast on the 23rd July 2012. Later I found out that I was recommended to the TV Metropol by our AFP Mrs. Eva Kantůrková who said that Rev. Moon has also a very interesting viewpoint of the year 2012 and they should contact me.
But this is not the end of the story yet.
A couple of days after broadcasting of this talk I sent out information about it to several AFP.
One of them Mr. Jiri Kriz who is a journalist himself and theatre critic working for the second largest daily newspaper in the country was so inspired that (because he knew Marie Zivna personally when he was a student) he wrote to his 2500 contacts where he explains about our movement and stands strongly on our side. He mentioned that there is an unspoken rule in the media not to write about UPF and other activities in a positive way or to ignore it at all.
He received 40 responses where people said there were thinking we were a sect but now they can change their mind. Only two responses were negative.
This is a good contribution to widespread True Parents work in our country.
I wish you all the best
