Bridgeport International Academy is seeking young adults to fill Support Staff Positions in the dorm

BIA is looking for young adults to fill Support Staff positions in the dorm.

Bridgeport International Academy (BIA) is a small private high school located in Bridgeport, CT. BIA was founded by Father and Mother Moon over 20 years ago and has seen substantial growth in the past few years. The school brings in students from around the world as well as local Bridgeport students. The BIA building houses not only the school and its international dorm but also the local church and a small elementary/middle school. Various youth groups meet in the building as well, and the local CARP chapter is based down the street.

These positions are not paid. Instead, BIA provides free room and board in exchange for some simple responsibilities (like taking out the garbage, some cooking, checking in on students for curfew, etc.) around the dorm and school. The work is required for the entirety of the school year, however, housing is available through the summer as well. Schedules are flexible and can work around college/university classes or another job.

The position works well for young adults who wish to attend either the University of Bridgeport or Housatonic Community College as both are within walking distance to BIA. Both UB and HCC are able to issue visas for international students, so the BIA Support Staff position may work for an international college student looking to attend one of those schools. The position also works for young adults who would like to work and save money as it offers flexible hours with a financial safety net. The school is a 10-minute walk from the train line and a block away from the city bus system so there is close proximity to public transportation.

Due to the proximity to the church community, this position is a nice way to plug into a very active community with little overhead cost.

These positions are open to both first and second-generation applicants. If interested, please email the school’s Vice Headmaster, Mrs. Emily Kise at ekise@ bridgeportacademy, org.
