The Wave of Self-Correction

After the Grace and Forgiveness Ceremony each person, each family, each nation, must now go the way of “self correction” or the way of righteousness. As Jesus said to the prostitute in John 8:11:
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, “Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee?” She said, “No man, Lord.” And Jesus said unto her, “Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more.”
True Father, through the Divine Principle, has given us the tools we need to live a righteous, sin free life. He has taught us about the Fall of Man, that man fell through the misuse of love and of our bodies. We must avoid the Fall at all costs, we must be wise and endure, as it says in James 1:12:
Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
And again most definitely in Matthew 6:13:
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Dae Mo Nin, through Ho Mo Nim has reduced it to a simple axiom, “Don’t look, don’t touch, and don’t eat.”
In addition to avoiding the “‘Fall,” there are two other tools that we have been given to help us live a righteous life. They are the “Subject-Object” Principle, and the “Law of the Public Good,” or more simply living for the sake of others.
When we unite, be it on the individual level between mind and body, the family level between husband and wife, or on larger and larger levels in relation to Central Figures and God’s Will we can unlock the door for God’s love, life and lineage to flow to and through us. In other words, without establishing a base, God cannot be with us. Why do you think Ho Mo Nim tells us to pray, report to God all day long, and do many conditions? It is to counteract the influence of our environment and make a powerful base for God to enter our lives on a moment-by-moment basis. This cannot be done by intellectual practice or theoretical knowledge alone. Only through uniting on each level, can we then come to bring the living God into our daily lives. As True Father has said so precisely through the 12 peace messages:
You need to know that it is your duty and responsibility as a human being to dispel all the temptations directed at your outer self – your physical body – and achieve victory in life by following the way of your inner self – your conscience. Heavenly fortune will be with those who lead their lives in such a way, and they will attain the perfection of their spiritual selves.
Finally, we are taught to live for the sake of others, also known as to live according to the law of the public good. As True Father said:
A world governed by the heavenly way and the heavenly laws [of living for the sake of others] is a natural world, an unobstructed world of truth and pure reason. It is a world at the “high noon” of absolute values, without any dark shadows.
As we move along in our daily lives, we must now examine ourselves and continually reflect on our behavior and thoughts. Are we living our lives for our own sakes? Are we living only to satisfy our own desires? In each moment, no matter what level we occupy, we can ask ourselves this question and, in answering it, determine to go the right way of life, the public way of life. Doing so makes us different from others. Think of it this way; let’s say that self-correction, or reflection is like a wave that we can plot on a graph or chart.
Some people reflect once a year and make course corrections at that time. Others might only reflect after a big accident or tumultuous experience. Blessed central families however have been taught to correct as we go. That is to reflect constantly and challenge ourselves with the law of the public good as our guide.
“A” represents the length of a wave.
Our life of self-correction should have a frequency such as the high-energy “A-E ” represents one full wavelength. wave above.
Thus, my conclusion is that we must live a self-correcting life and using the tools that God and True Parents have given us, reflect and adjust as we go forward acting in concert with the law of the public good. It takes discipline, focus, and constant effort, but in the end it’s worth it as a life that is lived with God is a rich life, a life of intuition, joy and peace. Use everything at your disposal to make the frequency of self-reflection and course correction more effective and long lasting.
