Reverend Krishnek expresses his gratitude to the community and reflects on his seven years as District Pastor of the Pacific Northwest region.
Sunday, November 3, 2013 was a historic day in Seattle. Brothers and Sisters of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) from the greater Seattle and Tacoma area in Washington and some from Oregon came to the Windermere Mansion in Seattle to appreciate Rev. Larry and Mrs. Akemi Krishnek’s seven years of service as District Pastors of the Pacific Northwest District 10.
Mr. Dreux Amaral emceed the event with wit. A slide show with pictures of the Krishnek’s’ ministry ran throughout most of the program. Mr. Amaral read a history of Rev. Krishnek’s spiritual path culminating with his time as District Pastors in Seattle (prepared by the Krishnek’s’ oldest daughter Miwa Aparo). Rev. Krishnek divided his experience as District Pastor into three distinct phases: 1) Mobilization for True Parents and True Family, 2) Building of Sunday Services through Lovin’ Life Ministry and 3) A time of big transition that started with the passing of True Father.

Representing the District and specifically also the District Council, Dr. David Burgess shared some highlights of his experiences with Rev. and Mrs. Krishnek throughout the years. Other brothers and sisters also offered anecdotes of experiences with the Krishnek’s and thanked them for their love and care they received from them. Rev. David Coryell, State Leader of Oregon, surprised the party with pictures of Rev. Krishnek as a child and youth as well as early pictures of the Krishnek family. Rev. Coryell had received these pictures from Rev. Krishnek’s mother via Pastor Marcus Beresford, State Leader of Idaho. Congratulatory letters from National Headquarters signed by Bishop Ki Hoon Kim and President Michael Balcomb as well as letters and cards from the church communities in our district were presented.

Both Rev. and Mrs. Krishnek thanked everyone as they reflected on the many blessings they received during their time as District Pastors, highlighted by many closes experiences with True Parents and True Family.
The event concluded with a wonderful potluck lunch. The sun was shining and many people enjoyed themselves on the Windermere lawn.
District 10 is blessed to have had the Krishnek’s as the District Pastor Couple for the past seven years. The community and district will miss them as District Pastors but are lucky that they will stay in the greater Seattle area and will continue to support the building of Cheon Il Guk in the Pacific Northwest.
