Meeting Minutes of the District 10 Council

Council Members Present: Mike Faris, Towa Lee, Eric Sylte, Mike Lancey, David Burgess, Larry Krishnek. Council Members Absent: David Wolfenberger, Jai Na Fiala, Richard Stumpf.

Agenda Item #1: Report from Rev. Krishnek about talking to pastor Mira about creating an advisory team to support Mira with his work. Discussion: Rev. Krishnek reported that pastor Mira didn’t feel the need of an advisory team. Pastor Mira said he has a team he is working with already.

Agenda Item #2: Pastor search Discussion: Job description has been made, needs to be finalized and voted on. Dr. Balcomb will have a meeting with few current district pastors and the national council to talk about future governance of our church (7/20-21). The council decided to wait for their report before broadcasting the job description nationally. Meanwhile, the council will finalize the current job description. David Burgess will work on a description on the benefits of living in WA that will be added to the job description.

Agenda Item #3: Transition manager Discussion: It was suggested to have Gerhard Wiesinger as the transition manager to make sure that financial matters, legal matters, insurance etc. is taken care of during the transition of the leadership in WA.

Agenda Item #4: Have a 2nd generation meeting to ask for suggestion on the current job description and to gather some names of potential pastor for WA. Action: Towa Lee will gather key 2nd generation and ask for their opinion on the current job description as well as gather names for potential pastors.

Agenda Item #5: Communicate with pastor Nelson Discussion: The need to communicate with pastor Nelson about the future plans. Action: Mike Faris will ask pastor Nelson to come to the next council meeting (8/4) to meet and talk to the council.
