Meeting Minutes of the District 10 Council for April 7, 2013

Council Members Present: David Wolfenberger, Towa Lee, Eric Sylte, Mike Faris, Richard Stumpf, Mike Lancey, David Burgess Jai Na Fiala (speaker phone,) Larry Krishnek, Sarah Nishioka. Council Members Absent: none

Agenda Item #1: Report on talking with Rev. Michael Balcomb Action: Kodiak will report and tithe directly to the District Pastor and tithe to the district directly as well.

Agenda Item #2: Job description for district pastor Discussion: Discussed the future role of the District Pastor. The possibility of not having a “District” pastor but the necessity of having a State pastor that can focus on Seattle. Action #1: Rev. Krishnek will send an email to the community about the start of the search for a new WA state pastor. Action #2: Rev. Krishnek will start recruit people for the “new pastor search committee” together with Eric Sylte and David Wolfenberger.

Agenda Item #3: Financial report about budget cuts from HQ. Discussion: The financial committee reports on the budget cuts from HQ to the current pastors and the plan on their salary till the end of the year. Action#1: Vote on the budget plan for the pastors. Rev. Krishnek has discussed the budget plan with pastors and they have agreed. The council agreed on proceeding with the salary cut plan.

Agenda Item #4: Windermere Discussion: Discussion on the possibility of having wintermere as a “International student center” Action: before further discussion, Rev. Krishnek will ask HQ’s legal department if its possible to use Windermere for such purposes.

1. Ask Jeff Adshead to join our meeting to talk about how we can bring the younger generation to church. 2. Ask 2-3 young couple’s with families to share what they would like to see and have at church. 3. Next meeting: May 5th, 2013 @Ballard Church.
