Meeting Minutes of the District 10 Council for February 10, 2013

Council Members Present: David Wolfenberger, Towa Lee, Eric Sylte, Mike Faris, Richard Stumpf, David Burgess, Mike Lancey, Jai Na Fiala (speaker phone,) Larry Krishnek, Sarah Nishioka. Council Members Absent: none

Agenda Item #1: Financial committee report Discussion: Discussed the profit and Loss of our community for the past year. Action: Financial report will be given to the community on March 17, 2013.

Agenda Item #2: Local councils. Method: Rev. Krishnek shared to the local pastors about possibly creating local teams and/ or ministries to support the local pastor and the community. Discussion: Portland has started the process for creating local teams Action: Rev. Krishnek will send an email encouraging the creation of local teams/ ministries, such as evangelical team etc.

Agenda Item #3: Representation Discussion: The district council welcomes written reports from communities. The district council asks the communities to report to the district pastor first and if the issues are not resolved then the representative of the community can voice their issues to the district council when necessary.

Agenda Item #4: Kodiak Discussion: Jai Nan reports about some of the Kodiak concerns. The local tithing is being used to take care of the buildings and properties of our church in Kodiak. There aren’t enough funds for church growth and outreach. Action: Rev. Krishnek and David W. will contact Rev. Jenkins and talk about the church properties of Kodiak as well as all HQ owned property and discuss whether the local communities will have the option of selling or managing such property as we see fit.

Agenda Item #5: Search for a new district pastor Discussion: The district council cannot begin the search without more information from HQ. Action: David W. will report to HQ about our search for a new district pastor.

Agenda Item #6: Formation of a district level ministry: Leadership development and support ministry. Discussion: This committee will work hand in hand with Rev. Krishnek, pastor Mira and Rev. Wiesinger to communicate and help form local teams/ ministries. Also formulate a job description for our future district pastor.
