Meeting Minutes of the District 10 Council for January 30, 2013

Date/Time of Meeting: January 30, 2013 at 9:00 pm Location of Meeting: Conference call Council Members Present: David Wolfenberger, Towa Lee, Mike Faris, Richard Stumpf, David Burgess, Mike Lancey, Jai Na Fiala, Eric Sylte, Larry Krishnek, Sarah Nishioka. Council Members Absent: none

Agenda Item #1: local councils Method: Discussed the need of a local council in Portland, Montana, Idaho and Kodiak. The creation of a sub-committee. Discussion: Kodiak has a local council where members are invited to attend once a month meeting to decide matters of the city. It has a positive effect and the community seems to be energized by it. Action: Sub-committee: David B., Eric S., Richard S., Jai Nan F., Rev. K. will have a conference call Tuesday 2/5/13 9pm with the local pastors to discuss the need and how to create the local councils.

Agenda Item #2: Foundation Day preparations Method: Rev. Krishnek reports about the preparations: ● A letter has been sent out to all the families in Seattle to invite them to participate the Foundation Day. Information about the event is enclosed ● Venue: Christian church in Sand Point & Windermere Rd. ● Time: 5pm ● professional photographer (2) will be there to take pictures of families. ● Pins and Ribbons with Foundation day Logo will be distributed to all members ● Cupcakes

● There is a fee of $50 per family or $20 per individual to cover the costs. ● Holy wine ceremony. There are 2 programs planned. ● Those who cannot attend Foundation Day will have a chance to see a video of the event. (has to be done within 4 weeks after Foundation Day) ● Need of food to make it more celebratory.

Foundation day preparations in other communities: Portland: Foundation day will be celebrated at church. There will be a reception style food There is a committee working on the details.

Kodiak: Foundation Day will be held at church with food.

Comment from Rev. Krishnek: This is a very special event. Please do your best to make it special and a memorable day.

Agenda Item #3: Kodiak Discussion: Jai Nan briefly reports about concerns of different areas of Kodiak. Action #1: Jai Nan will send a report about all the concerns of Kodiak to HQ. Action #2: David W. will send an email to Dr. Balcomb about whether Kodiak can report to District pastor instead of going through Anchorage. Agenda Item #4: Minutes Method: Discussed whether the financial minutes should be made public or not.

Action#1: Financial minutes are not going to be posted on the website. There will be a quarterly report to the community and hard copies will be distributed with the financial information of our district. Action #2: There is a 5 day time limit to submit changes to the council minutes.
