Meeting Minutes of the District 10 Council for January 9, 2013

Date/Time of Meeting: January 9, 2013 at 9:00 pm Location of Meeting: Conference call Council Members Present: David Wolfenberger, Towa Lee, Mike Faris, Richard Stumpf, David Burgess, Mike Lancey, Jai Na Fiala, Eric Sylte, Larry Krishnek. Council Members Absent: none

Agenda Item #1: Discuss Yahoo mail group and website Method: Mike L. suggested to use the website instead of yahoo group because it was complicated to use. Action: The District website will be officially available to the community. It will be listed on the weekly newsletter and sent out to the community.

Agenda Item #2: Rev. Krishnek’s report on Tacoma house. Method: Tacoma church was purchased by a Korean leader several years ago. Now the district is paying for its insurance. Tacoma church building needs a lot of work to be done. Also it is not in a location where we can be vacant for a long time. Action: Rev. Krishnek has asked a blessed couple (Eugene and family) to move to Tacoma church to fix up the place in exchange of rent. 6 months has been given to the family to do work and then it will be re-evaluated. KEA has collected money for the materials to repair the Tacoma church building.

Agenda Item #3: Report from Rev. Krishnek about having English services in Tacoma church. Discussion: David Roberts is a UTS graduate that has moved from San Diego and has volunteered to organize a Saturday service for

families that live in the South.There are no funding from the district involved. David Roberts is not a pastor. He is just initiating the gathering.

Agenda Item #4: Finance report Method: Mike Lancey gave a report on the current financial state of our district. Mike Lancey reports that there is no financial system/budget in our district. District finances are 88% funded by Seattle donations and 12% by the rest of the district/ There isn’t a budget for maintaining our properties, therefore there is a need to raise the rent at windermere. Action#1: Improve funding situations and windermere with help pf Finance committee. Action#2: Itsuko Bodzewbski is to become the official appointed “District bookkeeper”. Action #3: Mike Lancey sent a letter mentioning that only the district council and the finance committee will have the authority to approve the usage of the district money.

Agenda Item #5: Finance support for traveling Method: The council discussed the funding of smaller communities in the district; specifically Idaho and Montana, the states that have very small number of members. Action: The council has decided not to fund activities and travel expenses for the smaller communities leaders in the district.

Agenda#6: Foundation day committee

Action: There is a foundation day committee formed in Seattle. There are in the process of creating one in Oregon as well.
