Meeting Minutes of the District 10 Council for November 4, 2012

Date/Time of Meeting: November 4, 2012 at 11:30am Location of Meeting: Library Room, Ballard Church, Seattle, WA

Council Members Present: David Wolfenberger, Towa Lee, Mike Faris, Eric Sylte, Richard Stumpf, David Burgess, Mike Lancey, Jai Na Fiala (speaker phone) Council Members Absent: None

Reading and Approval of Minutes: Temporary chairman reviewed the contents of the previous conference call.

Agenda Item #1: Confidentiality Action: The Council will respect the need for a certain amount of confidentiality and sensitivity regarding our inner debates.

Agenda Item #2: choosing the council chair and secretary Method: each council member introduced themselves and nominated a person to be the chair person , then for the secretary position Action: 2 were nominated for chair- David W. and Mike F. flipped to coin and David W. was elected. As for secretary- Towa Lee was elected.

Agenda Item #3: Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Rev. Krishnek and what is the best for the community Method: each member was asked to speak their opinion. Discussion: Rev. Krishnek’s strengths and weaknesses were discussed. Action #1: The council would like to meet with Rev. Krishnek directly.

Agenda Item #4:Meeting with Rev. Krishnek. Discussion: Rev. Krishnek informed the council that he will be willing to serve for up to a year. Action #1: The council voted for Rev. Krishnek as the District pastor for the interim period. Action #2: Rev. Krishnek has accepted the position and also agreed to be replaced earlier if a candidate is found. During this interim period, Rev. Krishnek is expected to work closely with the council: have monthly reviews and reports, get financial approval by the council. Rev. Krishnek will also participate in the search for a new pastor. Rev. Krishnek will attend council meetings from now on.

Agenda Item #5: Discussion: formulate a district pastor’s job description Action: The council will work on a job description to address the needs of the community. The council is also waiting on more information from the HQ about the role of the district pastor. The council would like to have the district pastor’s input on the job description.

Agenda Item #6: Discussion: the role of the council- make decisions on financial matters; help and support the district pastor to answer the community needs; send a report on method and thought behind the decisions made in writing to the community.

Agenda Item #7: Discussion: Financial information Action: Rev. Krishnek will make all the financial information available this week to the council.
