Hyun Jin Moon's calligraphy for Takeru Kamiyama

By now most of you have read or heard about Pres. Takeru Kamiyama’s passing to the spiritual world yesterday. Certainly, few were as loved and trusted by True Father as he. Just before True Father passed to the Spiritual World himself, he was with Pres. Kamiyama at the Yeosu project in southern Korea (the project that True Father had made Pres. Kamiyama responsible for completing), In his parting words to Pres. Kamiyama, True Father told him, “Kamiyama, do your best!” and then they parted for the last time. Mr. Kamiyama recounted later that after Father’s passing, he prayed fervently and searched with all his heart to find out what TF meant by those words, “Do your best!”

The “schism” in the movement was in full play at that time. After a long and intense personal search and investigation, Pres. Kamiyama was led to the conclusion that Hyun Jin Nim was indeed the one taking responsibility as the True Elder Son in carrying on True Father’s central missions. For him to do his best, he concluded, was to help others know this crucial reality. He consequently dedicated the rest of his life to lecturing and sharing with Blessed Families the truth that he had had confirmed by Heaven. Unlike many of his elders, including many 36 couples and others, Pres. Kamiyama took responsibility for helping others know the truth of God’s Providence. For this, he was stripped of all positions and missions. Still he continued in lecturing from his sick bed until just a few days before his passing.

Upon hearing of his passing, after a period of prayer, Hyun Jin Nim wrote the following calligraphy:

“Takeru Kamiyama, a devoted, loyal and filial son of our True Parents and an elder brother amongst the Blessed Families, who pioneered God’s providential missions in Japan and the United States, ascended into the Heavenly Realm on December 12, 2016 at 12:55 P.M.

May your life of devotion and selfless sacrifice to our True Parents and True Family in substantiating God’s kingdom on earth set the “precedent” of loyalty and filial piety amongst all adopted sons and daughters in this age of Cheon Il Guk.”
