FFWPU USA Subregion 4 - Final updates on Camp Lone Star

Thank you all for your continued support this year through the many changes in our workshop this summer. I believe many of you are connected to our CLS facebook page and have seen the updates through that. In the last week, we have sent out a rough draft schedule of what our camp will look like, as well as finalized fees and staff positions we are still looking for. I will present all this information again in this email.

Registration for staff, participants, t-shirt design, and scholarships are available here. Please have your communities apply as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.

Staff: Captains/co-captains: In charge of leading discussions and connecting with teams remotely. Provide love and support wherever your team is and find creative ways to bond.

Activities: Support activities core staff with assembling and distributing activities packages

Photo: Help document and collect photos and videos from each family and help photo lead with preparing slideshow/video for the end of the workshop

Art: Support activities core staff in leading and coming up with art activities

If there are other ways you believe you can contribute please let me know!

We are also still looking for more participant applications! The more the merrier!! And we are still looking for t-shirt design submissions.

Fees: Staff: $20 Participant: $75 Scholarship and T-Shirt design winners: $20

These fees will go towards the cost of the t-shirt, activities supplies, and accounts needed to run this virtual workshop, as well as supporting future CLS workshops. We hope that with these reduced fees many more people can attend!

Ideally, we would like each person to devote their full week to camp as they would at a normal workshop. I believe this is how you will get the most out of the experience, to be fully immersed.

However, I know that may not be possible for everyone. Right now we are planning 3-4 hours online for participants and 4-5 online for staff. Here is our current rough draft schedule

Finally, tomorrow will mark 21 days until the start of our participant workshop on June 28th. We will be starting a prayer and HDH condition with our staff, but I want to welcome all of our community to pray with us during this time, that each person can feel connected in heart and be in an environment where they are able to feel God’s love and the love of their CLS community. This has not been an easy year, the past few months have been difficult for our whole world, and while CLS usually marks a time where we can all be physically together, this year we also have the challenge of trying to make meaningful connections when we are still separated by distance. I hope that you can join us as we can continue to prepare our hearts for what I hope will be another incredible and inspiring summer workshop.

STAFF RESOURCES

** Staff applicants must be at least 17 years old and have completed their junior year of high school to be eligible to apply for the co-captain position; All first time staff members must be co-captains before being eligible to apply for any other staff postition**

STAFF CAMP Duration: June 26th - 28th Opening Ceremony starts 1:00pm Friday, June 26th Camp officially ends 11:00am Saturday, July 4th

STAFF POSITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS

*We expect a certain level of heart from all staff members as we will set the atmosphere for the incoming participants. Please read over the expectations of each role you apply for and be ready to fully commit to whatever your role requires. Thank you for wanting to serve your younger brothers and sisters!*

FEES Staff - $20

** Payment may be made online or by card/cash at Staff Registration at camp. Checks will not be accepted. If paying with card, there will be an extra 3% service charge added to your fee **

To apply for staff, you will need to do two things:

1) Sign a consent form If you agree to an online consent form, READ and sign the online form below according to age (below or above 18). You will not be allowed to attend camp without a consent form.

**Participants must be either at least 12 years old or going to the 7th grade in order to be able to attend the workshop**

SCHOLARSHI P INFORMATIO N Scholarship Information: All participants are eligible to apply. Recipients of the scholarship will be awarded up to half of the camp fee .

Application Requirements: The response to the scholarship question must be an essay of: - 500-800 words - double-spaced - 1” margins

Scholarship Question: “What is the legacy you see from your parents/True Parents/Jesus/Heavenly Parents (choose 1 or 2)? How can you carry on their legacy in your own unique way?”
