Hwang Bo-guk Inaugurated as 20th President of FFWPU-Korea and Yu Kyeongdeuk as Chairman of World Peace and Unification Family Federation Foundation

On August 1st, Hwang Bo-guk was inaugurated as the 20th President of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Korea. The event took place in the 8th floor auditorium of the Family Federation Korea Headquarters located on Cheongpa-ro in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

The ceremony, attended by about 300 people, included key figures such as Moon Yeon-ah, Chairperson of the Sunhak Educational Foundation; Wonju Jeong McDevitt, Vice Chair of Cheon Mu Won; and Song Yong-cheon, Director General of World Mission Headquarters.

Vice President Lee Gi-sik moderated the event, which featured prayers, speeches, and award presentations. Wonju Jeong McDevitt praised Hwangbo Guk’s previous achievements, particularly his success in uniting Christian clergy and testifying about Heavenly Parent and True Parents to embassy leaders. She emphasized True Mother’s focus on witnessing and national restoration.

Song Yong-cheon highlighted Hwangbo Guk’s extensive experience in the providential field and his commitment to members’ happiness and healthy families. He expressed confidence that Hwangbo Guk’s faith, capacity, and relationships would bring innovation to Heavenly Korea.

In his inaugural address, Hwang Bo-guk reflected on his 33 years of pastoral philosophy and pledged to humbly accept Heaven’s commands. He committed to fulfilling his role as President to achieve national restoration according to True Parents’ words. Hwang Bo-guk also expressed his determination to usher in the era of Heaven’s direct governance through the dedication ceremony of the Cheonwon Gung Cheon Il Sanctum.

This inauguration follows True Mother’s announcement of Cheon Mu Won as a global-level central administrative organization of Cheon Il Guk, aimed at achieving VISION 2025. The FFWPU continues to advance as a global religion, working towards the ideal of “One Human Family under God” for world peace and peace on the Korean Peninsula, as it progresses from its 70th anniversary towards its centennial.

On the same day at 2 PM, the inauguration ceremony for the 21st Chairman, Yu Kyeong-deuk, was held with about 200 distinguished guests in attendance. Attendees included Moon Yeon-ah, Chair of the SunHak Educational Foundation; Song Yong-cheon, Director of the World Mission Headquarters of the Family Federation; Hwang Bo-guk, President of the Family Federation Korea; Kim Jong-gwan, Chairman of the HJ Global Unification Foundation; Shin Dal-soon, President of Mona Yongpyong; Jeong Bong- chae, President of Tongil Industries Co., LTD.; and Moon Sung-je, President of SunMoon University.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Yu Kyeong-deuk said, “Although we cannot be optimistic about the economic outlook due to global issues such as climate change, pandemics, and wars, if we return to the fundamental principles of human creation and restore the spirit of true love where humans and nature coexist, we can create new opportunities.” He added, “I will strive to realize the dream of ‘One Human Family under God’ as the parents of humanity, wishing for a Heavenly unified Korea and a Heavenly unified world under Heaven’s blessing, as envisioned by the founders, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon.”

The Unification Foundation, established by the True Parents, has been overseeing the Unification Group companies and actively supporting the development of the church.
