The Mainstream of God's Providence

We Unificationists have a unique understanding and clarity about history. Divine Principle provides us with the right views, right insights and correct understanding about the currents and events that have shaped our history. We fully grasp the fact that God is behind human history. God’s history is the mainstream, the true history.
For example, we know the reason that the communist movement appeared on earth in the twentieth century and how and why it ended in failure. Communists themselves do not understand this. We know clearly who Kim Il Sung was, and why South Korea and North Korea were divided. Kim Il Sung himself did not know who he was, or understand clearly his role in history. But we know very well.
Mainstream history has consistently been inspired and guided directly by God through his chosen people. We have the record of his efforts through Judeo-Christian history, and in the present day, we have witnessed his work throughout the challenging course of the unification movement. All other historical events and narratives are peripheral.
The people who were called to lead God’s mainstream history were real, down-to-earth people who had to cope with real, down-to-earth challenges. Outstanding figures like Moses and Jesus faced their missions with amazing courage and determination. They were not afraid of death. In the face of tremendous opposition, they won people’s love and devotion by moving people’s hearts and minds. In the end, they won great victories for the sake of the world.
Despite all those years of wandering and following Moses, the Israelites still had nothing when they came to the border of Canaan. Yet, out of that nothingness, they went on to found the nation of Israel, which would become the base for God’s future providence.
Jesus’ fate was far worse. When Jesus died on the cross, he was completely alone. None of his followers remained with him to the end. Golgotha was like a perfect “ground zero.” At that time, in that place, it looked as if all of Jesus’ strenuous effort to build God’s kingdom had been in vain. Yet, out of that nothingness, Christianity arose to become a powerful, dominant force in the world. There is only one reason for this astonishing resurrection: God was behind it.
The same pattern repeated in the history of our unification movement. Like Moses, like Jesus, True Parents followed an arduous path beset by obstacles and opposition, rejected and persecuted. There were times of betrayal and abandonment when it appeared that all their devotion and exertion would come to nothing. However, no one, nothing, can stop God. God has always been behind True Parents. That is why they were able to surmount the eight stages and win an amazing victory for all of humankind. God’s victorious foundation covers the whole world now.
Cheon II Guk is expanding every day, in every corner of the world.
Thanks to the victory of True Parents, we now stand on the strongest divine foundation ever seen in human history.
God is not only alive and well, but must be delighted and excited. Now, with True Father in the spirit world and True Mother on earth, God manifests both male and female aspects in directing mainstream history toward the coming of the kingdom of heaven. Since the Fall, God’s dream has never been closer to realization. Any attempt to separate Father and Mother is foolish nonsense, and will never succeed. The new dimension in God’s providence in our time is based solely on the inseparable, holy relationship between True Father and True Mother.
When we pause to reflect on our place and time in history, we all know that we are deeply blessed to be alive at this amazing time. We are right in the swift and powerful current of God’s mainstream history. Dear brothers and sisters, Blessed Central Family members, please stay in the mainstream. Do not get lost wandering along peripheral paths. God’s power is manifested through the mainstream, which is True Parents. Centering on the mainstream, history will continue to flow into the future, our shared victorious future.
As long as we stay afloat in the mainstream, we have nothing to worry about. As we say in Kenya, “Hakuna matata!” God bless you all.
