Organizing True Parents' Entrance into Cheon Jeong Gung on June 13, 2006

Thinking of all the unprecedented events that have happened in the last ten years moved me deeply. After listening to True Mother’s speech, I felt something in addition to this. I am repentant of how I have fallen short in many areas. To give a testimony about that time is not easy; I feel a bit embarrassed to speak because doing so would reveal areas in which I was wanting.

According to the Divine Principle, history is a revelation. Most of what happens in the world becomes buried in the past. One area, though, is eternally present and does not become buried in the past. That is providential events. I believe the events of ten years ago at the entrance ceremony (True Parents’ entrance into Cheong Jeong Gung) are not in the past but are events that will forever be part of the eternal world.

An exceptional ceremony

The entrance ceremony, differed from other events we have held before in many ways, but I will only talk about three of them today. The first is that it was the longest event we had held, lasting eight days.

When we heard that, we said that eight days is too long, but True Father told us to think of the number eight; eight is the number of new beginnings. So, in order to represent the creation of something new, the event took place over eight days.

The second point was that all of True Parents’ lives’ work was focused on re-creation. When they created something new, that new creation Sun-jo Hwang became eternal. During the time of the entrance ceremony, True Parents founded and established many things, the most in history.

They established the twelve tribes, the Peace Kingdom Police and the Peace Kingdom Corps. Also, as you are all aware, they formed the identity of Cheon Il Guk through the Cheon Il Guk national name, national flower and national bird. Through the entrance ceremony, True Parents, in order to create new eternal creations, went through the more creation processes than they had ever before; that was second difference.

The third difference was the scale of the event. Being, of course, the fruition of True Father’s life, from the time of the Coronation for the Kingship of God [January 13, 2001] all the events until the entrance ceremony were a series of processes that culminated in that worldwide and cosmic event. As we saw earlier on the video, people from 194 nations participated; Cain and Abel nations presented a crown to True Parents. Representatives of the 120 tribes came and participated. We had not seen an event on so vast a scale before.

The weight of attendance

I could mention many other differences and characteristics unique to this event but I want to talk about these three characteristics and the process and difficulties we faced with them. During the preparations,

we faced many difficulties due to our deficiency but also many administrative difficulties. I would like to speak about two of those difficulties. The first is that True Parents’ process of decision making always kept us anxious. They would not make decisions regarding the crown, the robes, the rituals and all the little details quickly. I once spoke to True Mother about this, saying, Father needs to make the decisions quickly so we can proceed quickly.

I was scolded. True Father said, Am I the one to make decisions? As True Parents’ providence unfolds, nothing is left to chance!

One example of this arose during the Coronation for the Kingship of God. The ceremony took place at seven o’clock in the morning. Those of us who attended can attest to this but during the entrance, True Parents took twenty-one steps and then performed a ritual; they took another twenty-one steps and performed another ritual. This was decided at four o’clock in the morning that day. The event was at seven o’clock but the final decision for the event was not made until four o’clock in the morning.

During the entrance ceremony, True Parents’ decision-making process for the event comprised praying with God and then praying again followed by discussion between themselves and then discussion again. This process made us very anxious. When I think about it now, it was a very moving and inspirational process.

True Parents arise

There was a second difficulty. This is something even you leaders probably do not know. Do you know how many steps there outside in the front of Cheon Jeong Gung leading up to the square? There are three sets of steps, each with sixteen steps, making forty-eight steps. That is roughly equivalent to climbing four or five flights of stairs in an apartment building. We asked ourselves, how would we escort our True Parents up those steps? Would we expect them to walk?

We could not ask them to walk. They were wearing the royal crowns, the royal robes. We should assist them in a way that allows them peace of mind. They had to show benevolence toward all the people that would watch the event throughout the ages, so everything had to be calm and natural.

How would we overcome the difficulty of the steps? We worried and contemplated this a lot. That is why we made a mechanical conveyance for them to use. An elevator that just goes up and down is easy to procure, but it is very difficult to go up diagonally, above the steps, without installing an escalator. For this, we thought we might need to call a moving company. [They have trucks that park in front of a building and use a platform on hydraulic supports to bring heavy furniture, at an angle, to apartments on the upper floors.] If we went to a moving company, could we get what we needed? How would we do this?

We worried about this, and then we worried about what we would do if the lift stopped in the middle. Once, while True Parents were visiting Bridgeport University, they were on the elevator that suddenly stopped halfway. For forty minutes, they were stuck in that hot elevator. As we were preparing for True Parents’ entrance, we were very worried about how to use a lift safely and without any accidents. What would we do if the lift broke?

The person in charge of that is today the FFWPU president, Kyeong-seuk Lu. So we set up a plan. We would try using it automatically once, but if it proved bumpy, we would try it again on the manual setting.

Those were our choices. We wrote in the script that if the lift stops while it was on the automatic setting, switch to the manual setting. Luckily, there were no accidents and everything concluded without incident. I believe that was all because those in the spirit world were moving with us.

Through many difficulties, the event took place, but in the end what was its greatest significance — the providential meaning behind this event? True Parents’ providence is too long to speak of every detail now, but I will mention a few: Father’s and Mother’s births, being the births of the original Adam and Eve; the arrival of God’s only begotten son and daughter, their Holy Wedding in 1960, the emergence of True Parents, the culmination of forty years of the providence, and the Coronation for the Kingship of God… The Coronation for the Kingship of God was the fruit of blood and tears shed during restoration through indemnity. Now the time of God’s authority had come. Did that mean that Cheon Il Guk would come to realization through God’s authority?

We needed to start over again. Through the Coronation for the Kingship of God, the Cheon Jeong Gung entrance ceremony and Foundation Day, the substantial nation of God, Cheon Il Guk, was established. Accordingly, the six years between the Coronation for the Kingship of God and the Cheon Jeong Gung entrance ceremony, so many important events happened that each day felt like a thousand years.

Stepping-stones to salvation

In the first year of Cheon Il Guk, after the time of the coronation, we made the proclamation as citizens of Cheon Il Guk. In 2003, True Parents’ Holy Marriage Blessing Ceremony of the Parents of Heaven and Earth Opening Cheon Il Guk took place to open the gates to Cheon Il Guk. In 2004, the coronation of the first, second, and third Israel were held all over the world, for a year, in 124 nations with 120 different religious circles. In 2005, after the establishment of UPF, True Parents spoke many times to global audiences.

Centered on True Father, they traveled to a hundred and twenty nations. The entrance process for the Cheon Jeong Gung entrance ceremony called for True Parents to tour 120 nations in 120 days and then mother toured 180 nations again. Following that, the True Children fulfilling the three generations toured forty nations.

If we have to summarize the providential significance of the Cheon Jeong Gung entrance ceremony, as mentioned in True Parents’ prayer, it is that the sovereignty of our intangible God has substantially manifested on earth. As True Parents made this meaningful historical event, another providence was occurring up to Foundation Day. At the time, we were in the midst of preparing for the entrance ceremony, but as I look back on the event, as those of you who attended can attest, it truly was a beautiful event without any flaws. There is a reason we could accomplish this.

Diligent True Parents

I believe there are two parties who made great contributions toward the success of the entrance ceremony. The first is True Parents themselves. After True Parents founded UPF in September 2005, they toured 120 nations in 120 days. They returned to Korea on December 24, and then on the December 27, they held an event at the Kintex Convention Center. They were living in Hannam-dong at that time. I went to Hannam- dong and True Father called all the senior members and spoke of many things to us. One thing he told us was that when he left to cover 120 nations in 120 days, he asked himself, “Will I make it back here?” It was a challenge that put his life on the line. “But I did finish and made it back,” True Father said as he looked back on the tour.

It is True Parents pain and suffering that brought about the historical Cheon Jeong Gung entrance ceremony and the substantial realization of God’s authority. That is how I wanted to summarize it.

Spiritual efforts

The second was Dae-mo nim and Heung Jin nim and the spiritual works that happened. Who could have possibly accomplished such a great deed? It was truly a moving occasion. True Mother spoke of this earlier, but we are the deeply ingrained pulse of the providence. This one time, we were being driven up to Cheon Jeong Gung from below, and True Father and True Mother were in the back seat. I was in the front seat, and as we were going up True Father spoke to me. There is a large guardrail next to the road on the way to Cheong Jeong Gung. The rocks there are very big. Each rock is a good rock, and each rock is very large.

Father saw that and said, “Look at that! Who has the boldness to do that? Who else would have the boldness, but spirit world and Dae-mo nim.” Father looked at the position of the stones and said, “This would not have been possible without the help of those in the spirit world.”

That is why I believe that the two greatest contributors are True Parents themselves, and the spiritual works of Dae-mo nim and Heung Jin nim in the spirit world. After the entrance ceremony, True Parents personally presented awards. Dae-mo nim and Heung Jin nim received an award.

My conclusion

What type of goal should we make as we celebrate the anniversary of such a meaningful event? True Mother and True Father have already told us, the victory of Vision 2020! That is when True Father would have been a hundred years old and True Mother will be seventy-seven. When Father turned seventy- seven, he established Chil Pal Jeol. At seven seconds past seven minutes past seven o’clock on the seventh day of the seventh month of 1997 he declared the Realm of the Cosmic Sabbath for the Parents of Heaven and Earth.

Then what should we offer on True Mother’s providential seventy- seventh year? I believe that we must find the sovereignty. We must complete the headquarters of that sovereignty, the [Hyo Jeong] HJ Cheon Won Complex. In 2020 on July 17, the day of True Father’s Seonghwa Anniversary, at seven seconds past seven minutes past seven, as mother faces her seventy-seventh year, let us be able to declare the substantial Realm of the Cosmic Sabbath for the Parents of Heaven and Earth. Let us be resolutely determined as we celebrate the tenth Anniversary of True Parents’ coronation and entrance ceremony.
