Unification of North and South is achieved by Peace in North-East Asia

The 2nd day of the Purification Azalea Festival (Special Great Works) started with a special lecture by President In-tae Hwang. President Hwang works with the International Peace Study Group and was invited to speak to the members of the Special Great Works about the general situation of North-East Asia and the future of the Korean Peninsula. President Hwang is a 72 blessed couple and has been following True Parents since 1957. He not only talked about the situation of south-east Asia, but he also shared some testimonies about True Parents.

President Hwang first introduced himself:

“Ladies and gentlemen, how are you? I entered this church in 1957 and then received the blessing in 1962, as part of the 72-couple blessing. I have one son and three daughters, and I have 10 grandchildren. I am also a person who has received much grace and blessing from heaven. I have become a famous professor on the Korean Peninsula. I am 75 years old and should have retired by now, but I am still active in giving lectures to various governmental and public organizations. Furthermore, I just recently received a special mission from True Mother to meet with all the blessed families around Korea, in order to convey the message of True Parents. I am extremely excited to be here with you.”

With this introduction, President Hwang proceeded to convey the heart of worry which True Parents bear concerning the North-East Asian situation.

“On April 1, at 6 am, I was invited by True Mother, along with many other leaders, to the Cheon Jeong Gung Museum. We heard from the Secretary General that True Mother had been awake since 1 am, walking around the Cheon Jeong Gung Museum waiting for the arrival of the

providential leaders. I could not help but wonder what True Mother wanted? The Secretary General said that he also was wondering since, for such a long time, he had not seen True Mother so worried. When we met, True Mother spoke the following words to us.

She said, “Do you know about the situation of the North-East Asia area surrounding the Korean peninsula? Geographically, we have Japan at our side, and above we have the USA, China and Russia all surrounding the Korean peninsula, but have you ever thought about the future of Korea? The Korean peninsula has been prepared by God for more than 6,000 years. It is the nation of True Parents, and it is the nation where Cheon Il Guk began. But, have the Korean people ever thought about their future, while those surrounding nations are all trying to obtain this nation? Will vision 2020 be accomplished with our present strategy? If we can achieve the unification of North and South Korea, then peace can arrive on the Korean peninsula and we will be able to fulfill True Father’s providence as we lead North-East Asia. However, those nations surrounding us will not let us do this. What can we do?”

President Hwang concluded his speech by referring to statistics recently announced by the Switzerland IMB, with which we can estimate what the situation of North-East Asia might be by the year 2050.

“I would like to share a statistic announced by the Switzerland IMD. The Switzerland IMD stands for International Institute for Management and Development. In 2007 the IMD announced its vision in which, by the year 2050 the nation in which would be living the happiest people, would be South Korea. This is a report produced by the Switzerland IMD. Right now it is 2015 so how many years do we have left? 35 years are left.

They say that by the year 2050 Korea will be the wealthiest nation in the world. What this means is that Korea and Japan will become one nation, and that these two nations will create that unification. That is why we have to invest ourselves to make sure not only that peace comes to North-East Asia, but to the world as well.

Therefore, after the year 2050, this nation will surpass the USA and Japan, and become the center to lead the future of this world. This nation of Korea, prepared by heaven, stands in such a position. If Japan and Korea can “hold hands” and work diligently together for the unification of our homeland, peace will come to North-East Asia. That is why, ladies and gentlemen, you should think not of matching your child to a Japanese person, but you should let them be matched to someone of a different race. I tell every blessed family that I meet here in Korea, to send their children all over the world, to make international blessed families, and to teach Korean. That way they can listen to the Words of True Parents in Korean and make Korean the common language of this world.

I’m saying this because for the sake of the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula, and for the sake of the peace of all Asia, we have to create many blessed couples and families in each nation. We have to raise up many members, so that each government (Japan, China, Russia, and the USA) will feel the need to listen to their people and then we can have peace on the Korean Peninsula. In that case, this nation will not become a nation in which the USA, or Russia or China interferes, but rather Korea and Japan can take each other’s hand and create a peaceful nation. In this way, Korea can become the central nation that will lead this world.”
