Love in action, Mission at risk This month, we want to celebrate the people whose generosity
keeps IRFF UK moving forward – and to be honest about the
urgent moment we are facing.
Across the UK and beyond, volunteers have stepped forward with
compassion and creativity. They show us that real change does not
have to begin with large organisations, but with individuals who
choose to act.
From music to magic – many ways to help Jeff, a flutist, once played outside a church simply because he felt
moved to do so. Passersby stopped, listened and donated. Jeff has
turned music into his mission – raising funds through
performances and charity walks, flute in hand, for causes close
to his heart, including IRFF.
Peter Graham, founder of the World Cultural Association UK, has
offered his songwriting talent and musical network to help
organise a fundraising event in London. His partnership with IRFF
has previously helped find safe homes for street children in the DR
We are also very grateful to Simon Rosselli, a member of the
world-famous Magic Circle, who has volunteered to stage a
London magic show this spring with all proceeds supporting IRFF
Leadership starts early for two helpers supporting a project in South Africa
Support that reaches across borders
In Madrid, Mercedes – an experienced humanitarian and organiser
– just days ago dedicated a fundraiser to our Destiny School in
Uganda. Her support has eased significant financial pressure, and
she hopes to mobilise her wider network in the months ahead.
Mercedes: “I will share with others my love for your work in
Africa. The children need your help – and you are giving it.”
Dorothy, a leader within the Women’s Institute, has quietly
supported IRFF for over two years – giving talks, sharing our
work, and raising funds especially for our Girl Child projects. Her
consistency has been invaluable.
Young people are stepping up, too. Two UK volunteers are
planning sponsored runs this summer, while three Chinese
students recently approached us wanting to learn how they can
use their talents to help raise funds among their peers.
With deep gratitude To every volunteer, fundraiser, donor, and supporter: Thank you.
You are the heartbeat of this work.
Why we need you right now
Our charity shop, The Tricycle, is facing its most serious crisis
yet. Rising costs and falling footfall mean it can no longer support
IRFF as it once did.
At the same time, the needs we serve have not slowed. We must
continue tackling period poverty, child hunger, access to
education, clean water, and safety for girls across Africa. We
want to keep our schools open, expand literacy and nutrition
programmes, and meet growing demand from families who
depend on us.
There’s great stock at The Tricycle charity shop, just fewer visitors these days.
We are at a critical moment If our work – and the people behind it – has moved you, please
Volunteer your time. Use your talents. Fundraise in your own way.
Share our work. And if you’re unable to volunteer right now, please
make a donation today.
Your support will keep essential projects running.
Many thanks!
The IRFF UK Team
PS: The children and families we serve still need us. If you’ve been
waiting for the right moment to help – this is it.
