A year of impact and achievement Collective efforts have significantly improved many lives, and we

couldn’t have done it without your support. As we reach the end of

2024, we reflect on a year filled with impactful projects and

incredible achievements.

Here’s a summary of the life-changing work we’ve accomplished

Ghana TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training)

• Impact: Our initiative in Ghana has been pivotal in training 5 girls each month, equipping them with skills for economic independence and empowerment. Without these skills, they would remain dependent on others.

• Cost: £200 per month (£40 per girl).

• Future Goal: We aim to extend this opportunity to more girls, freeing them from dependence.

South Africa SHINE project (basic literacy education)

• Impact: In Port Elizabeth (Quebera), £300 per month has enabled 73 children to learn to read, opening a world of learning and possibilities.

• Cost: Just over £4 per child per month.

• Future Goal: We strive to educate more children, given that 81% of their peers are not at their age-appropriate reading level.

South Africa Slovo Study Group

• Impact: This project has supported the training of 5 youths at the secondary school level, paving the way for their economic freedom and empowerment.

• Cost: £200 per month (£40 per youth).

• Future Goal: As this project concludes in early 2025, we look forward to initiating similar projects to continue this crucial work.

South Africa Soup Kitchen

• Impact: Our support has ensured that 500 children and elderly individuals in Port Elizabeth do not go to bed hungry, providing at least one meal a day.

• Cost: £200 per month.

• Future Goal: We aim to extend this initiative, feeding more people in need.

Uganda Destiny Junior School (primary education)

• Impact: With £1,150 per month from IRFF UK, along with self-grown food, we have provided education and meals for 206 pupils at Destiny School in Uganda, delivering high- quality education over seven years.

• Cost: £5.60 per child per month.

• Future Goal: Headteacher Jesca aspires to expand the school to accommodate up to 400 children. Additionally, we have improved infrastructure, including sending £750 for fire extinguishers and £820 for furniture for young children. In November, £8,000 was allocated for biodigester toilets needed for 109 children, replacing the old pit latrine to ensure hygienic and stable facilities.

Period Poverty Projects in 3 Nations:

• Impact: Providing menstrual products, education, and facilities to girls has significantly boosted their self-confidence and resulted in a remarkable rise in school attendance and academic performance.

• Ghana: Reusable pads and menstrual health training provided to girls, each kit costing £9 and lasting over two years.

• South Africa: Disposable pads and menstrual health training offered to girls, each kit costing £1.40 and lasting for two months.

• Uganda: The most active country in this initiative, serving 480 girls with disposable pads costing £1.11 per girl for two months, along with menstrual health training and underwear.

We’re aiming to get better and BETTER!!
