DR Congo Building Update Thank you! Thanks to your financial support and generosity, Hope for Children has been able to
begin building their new home.

With your help, IRFF-UK raised £820 in
August 2023.
Local volunteers, TAD (Tous en Action
vers le Developpement), and WCA
(World Culture Association) donated an
additional £880.
Thanks to this the Hope for Children
team was able to purchase 300 wooden
boards and rafters to begin
construction.
At the beginning of September, the frame outline was built and Hope for Children
worked towards building the room divides, receiving a further £90 from IRFF-UK.
The house under construction has 9 bedrooms with the capacity to accommodate 60
children. Hope for Children is now working on the frame for the roof with the project
nearly at 45% completion!
To protect the house from the elements, IRFF-UK is sending a further £260 this month
to support the purchase of 62 roofing sheets.
For this appeal, Hope for Children has so far received a total of £2595, £1,170 of
it from IRFF-UK.
What’s Left?
Materials still needed:
100 wooden triplexes: £450 80 Rafters for ceiling: £140
Concrete for the underfloor: 15 kgs metal sheet nails: £25
- 30 x 50kg bags of cement: £295 15 kgs of 5cm nails: £25
- large sand: £106 Fascia board, internal and external
3 exterior metal doors: £270 painting: £215
2 large metal doors: £245 Builders’ wages: £328
6 wooden bedroom doors: £345
3 metal windows: £148 Total cost of materials £2,740
6 wooden windows: £148 Total cost of windows and doors £1,156
There’s still a further £2740 needed so that Hope for
Children can complete the project.
IRFF-UK would love to support by covering the costs of the
windows and doors to make the house a home.
The success of this project has been down to your
contributions thus far, and we can make their home a reality
by giving today.
