Aiding ‘Hope for Children’, DR Congo Can you help aid the children in war-torn DR Congo?
A number of years ago Ben (Nzanzu Saasita Bienvenu) and his colleagues decided to set up a home for “street children” in Goma, DR Congo. The children were orphaned, war victims, and destined to a life of suffering. Ben and his colleagues located them and brought them to a nice safe building to house them, where they fed, educated, and cared for them.

The Crisis In June 2021 the local volcanic eruption destroyed the ‘Hope for Children’
Centre and everything in it.
Since late 2021, M23 rebels have seized territory in North Kivu province and
neared the regional hub of Goma, prompting hundreds of thousands to
flee their homes (Rédaction Africanews, 2023). The children were caught up
in the midst of this and it has thus been a struggle to keep the children
together and happy.

The Solution Everyone in Goma is suffering in war conditions right now. The children are
scattered but for many reasons they should be together. A local charity in
Goma has now come forward to fully fund all the children’s needs - but
they first must be all together in one place.
Thus they are currently making a big effort to build a simple wooden house
for the children, a new ‘Hope for Children’ Centre, and offer the safety and
security they need.

We are seeking to raise $7,500 to fund this home in Goma for them.
Even the smallest donation can help us reach this goal and provide a home
for these wonderful children who have gone through so much already.
