Anchorage, Alaska Looking for a New Pastor

The Anchorage Family Church seeks a new full- or part-time pastor, to start as early as May 2014. We are a small congregation of first, second, and third generation members eager to work with the new pastor to grow and build a thriving community. The former pastor, Rev. Hu, will mentor whoever steps into this role, and our local Council is active, flexible and supportive.

Job description: We are looking for someone who

Feels a calling from God and is inspired to be an active leader,

Will help us educate our children and new members, and help them to grow spiritually,

Is able to communicate well and give a good sermon that will inspire members and guests, and Is willing to work with the Council to develop a vision and strategic plan for our local church.

Job location: Anchorage, Alaska

Living space will be provided for the new pastor and family in historical Anchorage Garden, but at this point we can offer no salary. At this time members are rotating giving sermons with the pastor and would be more than willing to continue, if desired.

Anchorage offers good economic opportunities, with many jobs available. There is a wide variety of good quality schools, including Japanese (and other language) immersion through high school. There are plenty of cultural, sporting and outdoor activities going on year round.
